Tamiyo has been sighted at a Booster pack cover. So that means shes 100 % in.
How do you think her Story will reflect on her Card ? & what Color combination, after Jace is mono U ?
From what ive got, she seems to be about Investigation & Knowledge. Thats all blue, but is that possible after Jace ?
i think not, bu i also dont know what other Color she could have. From my Intuition i would say W,
cuz her original Card had an "icing effect" & thats for me WU somehow. But she coulda been corrupted too though.
Tamiyo, Moon Bunny 1WU (3)
+1 Investigate
-2 Tap target Creaure. It doesnt untap for the next 3 turns.
-6 You get an Emblem with: If you would draw a Card, draw 2 Cards instead.
I wouldn't entirely discount the possibility of her being WUG bant, due to the deck with her and Jace in the Magic Duels game for SOI expansion's story portion.
I suspect we're done with Investigate, it seems like a story-based mechanic around investigating what was happening on Innistrad, but now that is known (Emrakul) so there is no further need for investigation, now it's time to fight the corruption and try to deal with Emrakul, and I suspect the mechanic won't be here this set, even though it was a really good mechanic.
I'll give a design for her a try:
Tamiyo, Keeper of Stories1WUG Planeswalker - Tamiyo {+1} - Exile up to one target instant or sorcery from a player's graveyard. Tap up to one target creature, it doesn't untap during it's controller's next untap step. {-3} - Exile up to two target instant or sorcery from a player's graveyard. Up to one target creature gets +2/+2, flying, hexproof, indestructible, vigilance and first strike until the start of your next turn, untap it. Spells and abilities your opponent's control can't cause you to sacrifice permanents until the start of your next turn. {-8} - You gain an emblem with: "At the start of your upkeep, you may exile target instant or sorcery from a player's graveyard." and "Once each turn you may cast a copy of an instant or sorcery spell exiled with Tamiyo or this emblem for X, where X is it's converted mana cost."
Starting Loyalty [4]
Basically, the spells already used (that are in graveyards) that she exiles with her first two abilities and emblem build up to the potential for her ultimate to let you use the stories as future spells at will, regardless of their original color. Her first ability is basically the ice blasts she uses against Avacyn in their brief battle. Her -3 represents how she helps protect Jace and theoretically others from corruption and can grant story-based powers and give someone the potential to be a hero in a story. Her ultimate is crazy good, almost like a super version of a Isochron Scepter. She's also kindoff an anti-Liliana of the Veil in some aspects, not a direct counter to it, but certainly a spiritual opponent, in order to remind of the original Innistrad block's famous super-expensive mythic.
Where's this Tamiyo booster thingy? Inquiring minds want to know.
I could see Tamiyo being U/W. In her story a few weeks ago, she seemed very bound by some kind of code of honor, as well as having community bonds back home. All W stuff. Maybe a splash of green too, since she seems very serene in the face of chaos and impending doom, content to just be, and observe.
As for a card, I just hope it's playable.

I've considered investigate would be cool on Tamiyo, but hadn't quite thought about how from a development point of view it would actually keep her balanced as a 3 mana walker. Cracking clues is difficult early game.
I do expect she'll be WU, which has been underrepresented in the planeswalker character cast so far. (There's Venser, who's dead, and Narset, who's off doing whatever.)
I like the design in the OP, except I would suggest that her second ability be tweaked, and the rest of her around it. Tapping permanents is really strong and keeping them tapped for 3 turns lends itself to memory issues.
The ultimate is insane, and definitely worth putting in the effort for. It's really cool that you can hold off cracking the clue tokens till you've used the ultimate.
Tamiyo, Master Chronicler 1WU
+2: Investigate
-1: Tap target nonland permanent. It doesn't untap during its controller's next upkeep.
-10: You get an Emblem with "If you would draw a card, draw two cards instead."
Loyalty 3
Investigate spam is so weak early game I think you can get away with her getting +2 off it, with her ult pushed up in cost to match.
You can race to her ult, but she doesn't defend herself while doing so. Her only defense costs you a virtual 3 by going -1 and not doing the possible +2, really slowing you down on the way to the ult.
You can also juggle the +2 and -1 for repeatable tapdown action.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
I'm going to be a bit annoyed if she gains a color. She is the best characterization of mono blue that's been depicted in a while. Jace should have been given an additional color if they wanted both in the same block.
Jace should have been given an additional color if they wanted both in the same block.
Agreed. Jace has long struck me as RU, not simply U. He is way to emotional & brash, considering that he is supposed to represent the colour of logic, knowledge, science and detachment.
Tamiyo, on the other hand, is literally the best interpretation of a mono-blue Planeswalker ever depicted by far. Giving her another colour would be a disservice to her character; she is cool, calculating, emotionally detached, observant and is overall a much better fit for the role than even Jace is.
I dont know bout -1 It does protect, but it is just so boring. I wanted protection for 3 turns, even for higher cost, to be free makin clues or doin other stuff. Maybe it should only ice creatures ? Yea, ill change that.
Clues at +2 is good. But many times you dont have her turn 3. & Lategame +1 becomes really good.
Id love to play your version though d:)
Tamiyo definitely strikes me as possibly being GU or WU. Both of those colour combinations have a streak to them that is likely to sit back and observe (although WU is more likely to want to contain/control the situation.)
Both GU and pure U have a tendency to want to sit back and observe and study as long as it's not directly affecting THEM. GU has more of a tendency to want to protect itself and its 'pets' when threatened "Oh, you're attacking my creatures? COUNTERSPELL! BOOMERANG! TWINCAST-BOOMERANG! TWINCAST-OVERRUN!" and we haven't yet had a situation where that's happened yet. However characters are not static entities - they develop and grow over time. At least interesting ones do.
On the pack, her clothing colours seem to be Green and Black. There's a theory running on another site that Tamiyo might embrace the madness to learn about it and get corrupted in the process. She's more than strong enough to resist it, but she might deliberately choose to let her guard down. Such a corrupted Tamiyo might wind up being BG
Further - I agree that Jace should have been UR for a long time. He's not stoic enough.

+2 Search target opponent's library for a card, reveal it, and put it into their graveyard. Then they shuffle their library.
-2 Tap all creatures with toughness less than 3. They do not untap during their next untap step. Draw a card.
-10 Seperate your graveyard into 2 piles. Your opponent chooses one. Put those cards in your hand.
It doesn't make sense for her to be anything but mono blue, unless corrupted by Emrakul. To the argument of "we already have Jace in standard as mono blue" I say "so?" We also are getting a new Liliana but already have mono black ob nixilis. By that logic it would suggest that Liliana should not be mono black because we already have one. Then we are going to Chandras home plane and the flip walkers rotate out, where we likely see another Chandra to replace the flipwalker version, but that logic says no we can't do that. My bet is Tamiyo stays mono blue.
@ OP: Your second ability has serious memory issues associated with it. Would never see print as-is.
I do like first and third abilities. I wonder if getting two Clue tokens per activation might be too busted? I would definitely play her then, even at 2WU.
Considering just last set they had a mono blue walker, I wouldn't be surprised if Tamiyo somehow has white or green incorporated into her... Personally, I do not think that'd fit well with Tamiyo at all. They really should've done Jace U/R. He's erratic, and moody, whereas Tamiyo is quite literally all logic. But of course they don't wanna mess with their precious Jace, even when they know basically EVERY player is sick to death of him at this point. I think I could see Tamiyo being more U/W than anything, though.

I'd really like to avoid having Tamiyo do too much with Clue tokens. I'm fine if she makes them, but having that be the focal point of her card seems kind of... blah. I'm not really sure what I want for Tamiyo, but I do know I'd like to avoid seeing her be Blue/Green. White/Blue is fine though, but I also acknowledge that's just because it fits the colors of the kind of deck I play, I've seen arguments for why Tamiyo could be Blue/Green and they seem decent enough.
Definitely opposed to her being corrupted though. She's so far one of, if not my favorite planeswalker, would really like to not lose that.
If they print a new Tamiyo planeswalker, it won't have anything to do with clues as investigate is not a returning mechanic.
As for colors, they've never printed two of the exact same colors of walkers in the same block before (i.e if both Jace and her are mono blue). At the same time, we're venturing into new territory here with the new block structure. They've already proven that they're willing to bend the norm by printing four walkers in the first set.
That said, a mono U Tamiyo seems the most likely, but a UG Tamiyo would make every color in the block represented exactly twice (assuming Liliana is mono B and there's only 2 walkers in EM). Blue green isn't entirely out of her personality range so I could see that, but UW seems really unlikely to me.
As for abilities, we've already got Jace, Unraveler of Secrets so I'd imagine they don't want the abilities to overlap too much since Tamiyo is extremely likely to be mostly blue (the exception being if she gets corrupted in some way). My guess is that it won't have scry, traditional card draw, or bounce. But I don't know enough about her story or personality to really judge here.
It would also surprise me if her CMC were less than five, but that's just speculation on my part.
