Hi there, guys!
Don't know about you but from all the spoilers of today, the thing I'm most hyped for is...the one and only...the deadly beauty...the princess of darkness...Lilianaaaaaa Vess! (enough with the hearthstone'ish introduction :)) ).
So, what are your thoughts regarding her new card. From the spoiler it seems she'll be the bad ass antihero saviour of the day!
I'm hoping for a 4 cmc card, probably 2BB.
Also, from the spoiler, I'm guessing a minus ability - kill a creature and an ultimate put n zombies on the field...or something like exile all cards from all GY and put a 2/2 zombie on the field for each card exiled this way.
Can't wait to hear your ideas!
Cheers!

Personally, based on the trailer, I think it may be possible this will be a tokens based Lili, as to my knowledge black does not yet have one. Maybe she could start at 4 loyalty for 6 mana, +1 to make 2 zombies? I have no ideas on the other abilities though. The first minus will almost certainly kill creatures though.

How I like to win games:
Modern:
Grixis Shadow
Burn
Titanshift
Copycat (Given up currently, not entirely sure what it needs)
Liliana, Innistrad Eternal 4 (2 swamps and 2)
+1 Each player discards a card. Put a 2/2 black Zombie onto the battlefield tapped for each creature card discarded this way.
-3 Return target creature from a graveyard to the battlefield. It's a black zombie in addition to its other types.
-6 Pay any amount of life. Return up to X creatures from graveyards to the battlefield, where X is the total life paid. These creatures are black zombies in addition to their other types and gain haste onto the end of turn.

"The essence of every world, every spell and every thought is power. Nothing else matters, because nothing else exists."
Good point. I'm thinking about a graveyard exile effect as to partially counter new Emrakul...
And a little funny thing...I just realised, Emrakul wraps minds, Lili's zombies don't have a mind anymore...so the game is on!

You only get Zombies if you or your opponent discards creatures. It fuels the existing SOI Zombies that need that support. The ultimate is flavorful because the chain veil is killing her slowly. Starting at three she would, at worst, be an Unburial Rites with no flashback. Oh well.

It seems shes gonna face Emrakul. Thats why i believe it will be her biggest version yet. 6 Mana to be tough enough.
Liliana, necromantic Queen - 6 Mana (4)
+2 Each opponent discards a card at random & you draw a card.
-3 Each opponent sacrifices target Creature & target Planeswalker.
-4 Destroy all Creatures then exile all creature cards from all graveyards & put a 2/2 black Zombie Creature Token onto the battlefield for each creature exiled this way.
Liliana 2BB
Planeswalker - Liliana
\+1/: Put a 2/2 black zombie creature token onto the battlefield.
/-3\: For each opponent, that player sacrifice the creature with the highest cmc from among creatures they control.
/-7\: You get an emblem that has, "At the beginning of your upkeep, put X 2/2 black zombie creature tokens onto the battlefield. Where X is the number of zombie creatures you control."

I think she will ultimate in a way that mixes the trailer's depiction of a zombie horde and creature destruction.
Something like... '-8: Sacrifice [x] zombies and destroy [x] creatures'
Yup, something like that. She seems really powerfull in the trailer so I would say the ultimate must be close to ending the game.
It could also be something like: "-6: Each player discards his hand. Destroy all creatures. For each creature put into a player's graveyard due to this effect, you put a 2/2 zombie onto the battlefield."

I would play this anytime! :D...maybe a -2 instead of -3, could be ok.

I think the video hints clearly that her card will (at least try to) answer Emrakul's new card. We should look into that.
I mean it's not like that's too difficult. A simple destroy creature effect will do since it's stapled to a planeswalker and not an instant. It seems doubtful however that any Lili could answer the "Take an opponent's turn" clause.
Personally if Lili saves the day I'm hoping we get an Oath of Liliana... That you can sacrifice to draw a card.
712.5b The controller of another player can't make choices or decisions for that player that aren't called for by the rules or by any objects. The controller also can't make any choices or decisions for the player that would be called for by the tournament rules.
Example: The player who's being controlled still chooses whether he or she leaves to visit the restroom, trades a card to someone else, agrees to an intentional draw, or calls a judge about an error or infraction.
Liliana, The Last Hope
2BB
+1: Put a 2/2 Zombie token into play.
-1: Each Player Discards a card, if a Zombie creature card was discarded in this way, you may put that card into play.
0: Target opponent loses X Life, where X is the number of Zombie creatures under your control.
Loyalty: 4
She's a big fat fatty the likes of Karn LIberated/Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker, and she has the Chain Veil still, so we might as well SpikeTimmy the hell out of her!
I went for an indulgent theme of 4's - which is an unlucky number in Chinese culture, alluding to death. Fight that 13-themed misfortune that is Emrakul with the fource of necromancy!
She costs 4 and four B. She has four abilities, which affect her loyalty by 4. She also starts with 4 loyalty.
There are exactly seven of these obvious 4's, a lucky twist amid all the four-spam since she's the last hope and we're putting everything on the line with this mistress of death.
Each of her abilities heavily reference the number four. The first gives 2x 2/2 Zombies makes four power on the board. The remaining abilities feature the number 4 four times when you include the loyalty cost.
This would also be her fourth incarnation as a direct planeswalker card (Either not counting her transform one since it starts as a creature or the M13 one most people want to forget about.)
Oh yeah, her third ability mentions 'levels' - that's just cmc being renamed.
I remember reading on Blogatog they were thinking about changing 'converted mana cost' to something but they weren't quite sure how to go about it. 'Levels' saves a lot of space.
I left this templating on the card in addition to the stock MSE set symbol graphic to make it extra obvious it's fake, after all it's spoiler season. Wanted to have a mockup image shown because those 4's everywhere are interesting visually.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
They did Read the Bones, allegedly an old Chinese form of divination, in Theros block, themed ancient Greek.
Greek mythology purists had pointed that out, and the audience at large doesn't care. You know that planes in Magic are only inspired by real world stuff sometimes and not attempts at accurate reconstruction, right?

While I don't/can't speculate exactly what her abilities are, if her Last Hope title means anything, at least one of her abilities would spawn lots of Zombies. while it is true that mechanic-wise that would overlap with Sorin, Grim Nemesis, that seems still rather likely.
I think Liliana is gonna be a go big kind of PW. I know that's annoying with all the existing big B PWs, but to fight a fatty you need a fatty!
