So, MaRo hasn't been too shy about the factthat Dwarves arecoming back, possibly soon-ish. Look at the dates: Most of them seem to be from 2015, which I'd estimate was around the time Kaladesh was in development. If they are going with a exotic, Steampunk-ish crafter world, I'd say there's no easier race to shoehorn in than Dwarves, possibly as a WR tribe. Sadly, we haven't yet seen any non-human races in Kaladesh, but believing Kaladesh will not feature any seems a bit crazy, especially since they are seemingly going for a very ethnically diverse world.
So, what do you guys think? Will we finally see the return of our favorite small people in Kaladesh?
I would like to see dwarves again but I want to see them different than your average dwarf. Kinda how elves look different in every set I would like to see the same treatment of the dwarves, not so classic Tolkien.
Well, we got Mongolian Orcs, so Indian mountain midgets are a possibility I guess.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
In Masques we got political goblins, Lorwyn we got happy goblins, Kamigawa we got goofy goblins; but all we've ever had were some dwarfy dwarves and a weird blue dwarf archmage
Yes, dwarves are possible again. I wouldn't hold my breath for Kaladesh Dwarves in particular though. We have seen more than a few glimpses of the world already - especially some red artificers. There was not the slightest hint at dwarves in anything released about Kaladesh AFAIK. Just to keep things in perspective.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.

We had explorer and merchant dwarves in the same set as the archmage dwarf (Homelands), so there is that. Oh, and barbaric dwarves in Otaria (Odyssey).
We also had a single vampire dwarf, and she was awesome (Irini Sengir from Homelands).
Oh, and Nomadic Dwarves (Mirage).

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
If indeed are dwarves coming back, then Wizards missed an opportunity to print the first ever dwarf planeswalker instead of yet another human (albeit slightly browner).
On the one hand, the argument against Dwarves is that they don't want to do too much in one set. If they do have contraptions and an overall steampunk feel, plus the overall Indian-themed plane, there's a lot they are already committing to. Adding Dwarves on top of that could spread them too thin. If you have Dwarves coming back you'd want them back in a significant way, like "DWARVES!"
OTOH an artifact steampunk plane is probably one of the best suited planes to bring Dwarves back to. The alternative is probably the Underground plane. My gut tells me that keeping them for the Underground plane makes more sense, but we'll see.

Nothing prevents them from introducing multiple new planeswalkers in a block. Tarkir for example, had two (Narset and Ugin), and Return to Ravnica had three (Vraska, Domri Rade, and Ral Zarek).

That's imo not a good thing either. That way, they would be producing lots of obscure planeswalkers without any meaningful story besides "lives there, does that".

To be fair, we hadn't any hint of any non-human races in Kaladesh. I think it would be extremely weird to not have any, especially the huge ethnical diversity we already saw in Kaladesh. MaRo already said Magic's focus is classical fantasy tropes, I'm willing to bet they wouldn't dip into Steampunk / modern fantasy and eliminate one of the biggest fantastical elements of Magic - the diverse races of the Multiverse.

Tarkir had both Orcs and Ainok returning and debuting respectively, yet neither had a major focus in the story (aside from Zurgo). Also, Steampunk dwarves are almost as old of a trope as steampunk itself.

Fortunately that is not something WotC is prone to do, both Ugin and Narset had major roles in the Tarkir story for example. And all three of the RTR planeswalkers where elaborated upon in the weekly Stories that WotC so kindly provide to us. Vraska, for example, is a serial killer who came into conflict with, and was exposed by, Jace. And the reason she became a serial killer? Because she was captured, imprisoned, and tortured by Azorius soldiers for the sole reason that she happened to be a Gorgon and a member of the Golgari.

You are right, it's not that bad. Just checked it and there are not many planeswalkers left dangling with no current goals (significant part being the RTR walkers). But it would still be nice to see some of them again.
Anyway, what walkers do you think we might see on Kaladesh? Mono-R Chandra is a safe bet, Saheeli I would guess UR or WUR... That still leaves little room for the potential dwarf, assuming they will be at least partially red-aligned.
Not a big fan of Dwarves, but MtG has some absolutely cute artifical guys: Gnomes.
Really want some of them in Kaladesh (just like return of Scarecrows in SOI). Please Wizards, make it happen.

Or, you know, white. Which is a color that WotC have expressed is more suitable for dwarves anyway.

Where did they say that? That would mean basically reinventing dwarves in MtG, since those they had so far were mostly red.
And it is true that while dwarves are traditionally associated with mountines, white probably fits their personality better. Also, they wouldn't have to compete for design space with goblins.
We didn't see a lot of black Orcs before KTK block. It wouldn't be hard to justify Dwarves as a RW race focused on artifice, especially Equipment.

Duergar were a R/W tribe in Eventide, so that seems like the most likely color combination.
