I noticed that in the story mode of Magic Duels the joint Jace-Tamiyo against Avacyn is a Blue-White-Green deck. Both Jace and Tamiyo have been Blue in the past, and there's an argument that the deck is just reflecting the Investigate mechanic from the set. But it seems very likely that Tamiyo will be a Planeswalker in Eldritch Moon. Back to back blue planeswalkers? Maybe, or they could take the opportunity to distinguish Tamiyo as something more than just Blue. Could be interesting if she interacts with the Investigate mechanic.

IIRC, Duels has been notorious for creating color alignments for characters that have no basis in reality. Duels prioritizes gameplay over flavor accuracy, which is probably the correct call in this scenario. I think there's an argument to be made that Tamiyo could be Bant or Azorius. It's also possible that she's like Jace in BFZ - important to the story, but not represented on a Planeswalker card. If that's the case, she'll likely be the focus of her own story soon.

Why would you said that? If anything, I would say that Duels have correctly predicted character alignments. We got a GW Ajani long before Ajani, Mentor of Heroes and a Jund Sarkhan (what Sarkhan Unbroken was designed as until Development turned him Temur), and I wouldn't be surprised if we end up getting an Esper Tezzeret in the future.

I was thinking mostly about Golgari Nissa and Bant Elspeth, both of which were done for flavor/gameplay reasons (there was initially some talk about Nissa becoming the GB Walker before Garuuk and Elspeth is from Bant). I suppose there are as many examples of Duels being right as there are of them being wrong.
Sorry but Elspeth is from Serra a long gone world to the phyrexian invasion. Not Bant
I think what Bro means is Elspeth first appeared in the story on Bant and is associated strongly with the norms of that society.
Also, I thought the fandom had collectively decided she was from Moag or something?
According to the Wiki, Serra's Realm was destroyed in 3360AR, the Mending occurred 4306-4505AR, and Elspeth reached Bant at approx 4597AR. [link]
Sorry but that is where she came. She came from a long gone world of angel. Gosh some even considered the fact that she might be from Rath. You can also look at the last magic story. There you could see that Tamiyo has records from the Serra's Realm. Last thing the mending did not remake everything because knowledge from that time still exists.
Dude, what I'm saying is that Elspeth appeared on Bant (aged in her late teens) about 1000 years after Serra's Realm was collapsed into the Weatherlight. The Mending (which also happened before Elspeth was born) stopped Planeswalkers from being immortal by default, which means she was probably born about 990 years after Serra's Realm collapsed.
She probably wasn't born on Serra's Realm. That's my point.
As far as the actual topic is concerned, the Tamiyo in the most recent story seems almost perfectly blue. Bant-Tamiyo was probably for gameplay purposes.

“Tell me who you walk with, and I'll tell you who you are.” Esmeralda Santiago Art is life itself.
I'm beginning to doubt that Tamiyo will get a card in Eldrich Moon. No matter how you rearrange things, another blue Planeswalker in standard means that there will be two mono-blue walkers in Jace, Vryn's Prodigy, Jace, Unraveler of secrets and three multicolor walkers in blue with Sarkhan Unbroken, Narset Transcendent, Kiora, Master of the Depths and Tamiyo wherever she fits in. Six total planeswalkers in blue if Tamiyo gets a card. This would give the color that is known for playing the control long game a lot of power.
White is also has 5 total walkers currently, so do green & red when including multicolor cards and origins flipwalkers. Black on the other hand has a total of 3 planeswalkers in standard right now, Liliana, Heretical Healer, Ob Nixilis Reignited and Sorin, Grim Nemesis. If anything I think Eldrich Moon is going to have two black Planeswalkers. Most likely a mono-black Liliana and a BX multicolored Walker. The only way I could see blue getting another planeswalker in Eldrich moon is if it's also black or they decide to include three planeswalkers in the set. Personally I think the other Planeswalker will be BR since the last BR Walker was Sarkhan the Mad in Rise of the Eldrazi. (I could also see Ugin making a return to knock some sense into Sorin and Nahiri, if this is the case then I could see this Ugin as the first Planeswalker to have a mana cost that requires colorless mana).
I don't really see the Green or White; her characterization seems mono blue to me (far more so than Jace). I doubt we'll see her this block because we already have a mono blue planeswalker.

We get a Jace every time it's slightly possible.
If we don't get a Tamiyo card...
Jace is my favourite walker but even I'm getting sick of seeing him and would like a new mono blue walker sometime soon
