we had seen this decks as 1 with planeswalkers 1 without them for a while, but the last two broke that non written rule
Sorin vs. Tibalt (2013)
Heroes vs. Monsters (2013)
Jace vs. Vraska (2014)
Speed vs. Cunning (2014)
Elspeth vs. Kiora (2015)
Zendikar vs. Eldrazi (2015)
Blessed vs. Cursed (2016)
giving us 2 duel decks without planeswalkers in a row, so...
do you guys think that this one will star some of them? or the latest changes (no more event deck or clash pack) will afect this kind of deck too?
all signs point to the planeswalker duel decks being retired. they used the fall one to set up the new block, but now that there are two blocks to set up, there is no room for a planeswalker one. unless they add a third to the calendar.
Maro has said that the PW Duel Decks have not been discontinued.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
clonedpoopasked: How does the new block structure affect the release of Duel Decks? Will we still see one faction duel and one Planeswalker duel per block? Here's to hoping for Sorin, Solemn Visitor being reprinted in a Duel Deck.
From a story-line perspective, Nahiri vs. Sorin is extraordinarily compelling. If there is any opening for Planeswalker duel decks, this has got to make the cut.
Yay for keeping with insane planeswalker prices...
Hardly insane. Of the 65 PW's:
48 of them can be purchased in some printing or another for less than $10 (TCGP Low, mint copies, and including shipping costs). That's 74%.
23 of them (35%) are less than $5.
Another 11 of them (17%) cost $20 or more, and therefore almost guaranteed NOT to appear in a Duel Deck.
So you're only really talking about 6 PW's in that "sweet spot" of $10 to $20 that would be a viable candidate for reprinting, resulting in the lowering of their prices. 6 out of 65, that's 9%. The other ~91% either don't need it, or it wasn't going to happen via a DD anyway. You're not getting a Karn, Dack, or LOTV in a $20 product.
Here's a thought: What if Sarkhan vs. Narset was set up by Ojutai commanding Narset to attack Sarkhan, allegedly due to the dragon-man posing some kind of threat to the Ojutai Brood but secretly due to the Dragonlord seeing Sarkhan as a threat to his own position? That would be quite the wake-up call for Sarkhan that this "paradise" he's created isn't perfect after all, and perhaps set the stage for Tarkir 2.
In the event of Sarkhan vs. Narset, would Narset's deck be WU or URW? I'm thinking of how Ajani's deck was RGW even though Ajani Vengeant himself was only RW because he was from Naya. But then again Ajani's faction was actively tricolor in that case, whereas Narset's faction is officially dual color now.

Simpler explanation... At the time that Blessed vs Cursed was released Nahiri was unknown as an antagonist. They may have swapped the release order this year to preserve that mystery.
Actually I think that a WURNarset would risk to be very redundant with a URGSarkhan. Yet if the two decks play very differently:
- Narset deck as a magic-heavy one;
- Sarkhan deck as a big-creature ramp;
That would not be an issue.
Yet, would Narset's deck be a control deck, while Sarkhan's a dragon ramp? I fear that Narset's could be a bit too passive. Also as Warangel88 wrote, a 3 color deck risks to be very inconsistent without adding a potentially very expensive mana-base.
EDIT:
yet they already managed it with the Ajani Vs Bolas deck with a cheap mana-base. Tarkir has 3-colorbanners and 2-colorliving statues as mana fixers, evolving wilds as a cheap fetch and both 2-color and wedge-color taplands at common and uncommon rarity, so... It could be possible.
Speed vs. Cunning overlapped on RW. This time the overlap would be UR, though something tells me Narset would get more UR cards.
As for her deck being passive, don't forget all the "noncreature spells matter" cards in KTK block, many of which are creatures. Also consider cards outside KTK block like Wee Dragonauts, Nivix Cyclops, and Stormchaser Mage.

I was hoping for an Ugin vs. Bolas but that never happened. I thought that maybe it could've been Sarkhan vs Narset. Again, didn't happen. The next duel deck should definitely be Sorin vs. Nahiri because it is literally the duel that's happening on Innistrad right now. If WotC doesn't do it who knows where their common sense is.

Wizards has been cutting a lot of the things I tend to enjoy as of lately (limited print run on fat packs, no more PW duel decks, clash packs are gone, etc) but I would like to see this duel deck.
and seeing the coming confrontation between the two planeswalkers, having the duel deck to represent it is almost a mandatory thing but...
do you think this duel deck will come to life?
