That's a lot of new cardnames to speculate about. All of them are double-faced cards. A bunch will be Werewolves.
So what will be on the other face?
Speculation time: 3... 2... 1... Go!
Avacynian Missionaries - There will probably some card that is more positive in flavor, so I'll guess these will found a mission somewhere and live happily ever after? Pious Evangel - If it starts pious, then it turns probably 180° on the other side. "Devious Sinner"? Could be triggered by dementia. Town Gossipmonger - Sounds like this might be part of the investigation theme.
Abberant Researcher - We already had a scientist turning into a fly and one having an experiment grow 13/13. THis will be the new less aggro Insectile Abomination. Daring Sleuth - Another investigator! Something about "daring" makes me expect them to end up in a worse place. Uninvited Geist - A poltergeist? Maybe taking over an artifact this time?
Accursed Witch - Breaking the curseshe becomes more powerful than ever before! Heir of Falkenrath - Vampire. Turns into "Lord of Falkenrath" obviously... maybe once you collect enough Vampires? Kindly Stranger - Its a trap. They'll eat you. Or maybe they are part of the investigator cycle. Strange name for a black card then though.
Breakneck Rider - ...turns into Headless Horseman... Probably a Ball Lightning variant. Convicted Killer - ...becomes Escaped Prisoner? Like the one from th urban legends? With a hook for a hand? I hope we get a hook for a hand Equipment... Maybe they'll get executed and become a Vengeful Geist instead. Could be a Werewolf. Gastaf Arsonists - Likely a Werewolf pack. Kessig Forgemaster - Another blacksmith will turn out to be a Werewolf. Skin Invasion - Aura enchantment that takes control until end of turn. Has a "body snatcher" feel to it. Maybe Threaten first, then Clone?!? Village Messenger - Our fourth investigator? Cycle smell intensifies.
Autumnal Gloom - Feels like it should turn into "Winter Wonderland" with a seasonal theme... but that's only two seasons. Duskwatch Recruiter - Known Werewolf. Hermit of the Natterknolls - Also a werewolf? Hinterland Logger - Has probably an axe. All you need to become a Crazy Axemurderer!!! Maybe if they kill someone and/or are alone out there too long? Lambholt Pacifist - Werewolf? Maybe someone who turns bloodthirsty due to some reason? Solitary Hunter - My bet for a fifth investigator, if the cycle is not just in my imagination.
Harvest Hand - Could be an artifact creature. A scarecrow? Could it be the scarecrow that gets bloodthirsty? Neglected Heirloom - Is more than meets the eye. Cursed? Magical? I get the feeling it will harbor a terrible family secret. Thraben Gargoyle - Turns into a statue during day/when damaged enough; but awakens again at night.
So far my initial speculations. More inspired ideas?

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.
[thread=239793][Game] Level Up - Creature[/thread]
The primary thing I noticed is that there are no proper names on the list, so a flip Legend is not likely (i.e. a legendary werewolf).
It could be 'Hermit of the Natterknolls', which sounds specific enough to refer to one particular person. Unless it's another Mayor of Avabruck situation...
The Gossipmonger will be a conspiracy theorist that flips out when he finds enough "clues".
Honestly, I could see this happen to any of the investigators... though I wonder how "going insane" will be realized in gameplay. It can hardly be a downgrade. While thematic such a card would likely end up causing to negaive a feeling for such a beloved mechanic as DFCs.

The Ally legendary creature did not see print until set 2. I assume that putting long requested commanders like that in the second set helps spread out the demand better.

I am mostly intrigued about the Skin Invasion, as it sounds too damn black, yet it is Red, and the Gossipmongrel, cause you know, DAT name! Also, they are both 1cmc, so is one more red creature if a count correctly, so crossing fingers they will be aggressive as hell. A man can dream nevertheless...
Still confused about the invasion though. Why not mind invasion? That would explain the Threaten kind of effect. But the skin? Damn you Wizards! I need to know NOW!
I think you got the invastigators right man. Nicely thought.
Perhaps the investigator cycle uses Delirium as a transform condition?

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Not really. The ratio for Innistrad was 2:3:2:6:7, and Dark Ascensions was 1:1:2:3:3:1(multicolored Red & Green):2(Artifact)
In Innistrad, black was the only color without a common that transformed, and White the only one without a rare. Dark Ascension's numbers are a bit more wobbly.
Comparatively, the ratio for this set is 3:3:3:6:6:3. which is about the same.
The earlier-leaked checklist (CH1) is for commons and uncommons.
Here's the rare/mythic one (redacted some):
We know one of the white entries is Avacyn, and not sure why they redacted Thing in the Ice.
The last entry is the weird one. It doesn't look like an artifact to me, and a true-colorless card should be at the top, not the bottom... and DFC lands are impossible right now anyway.
It's not an artifact. Compare the two checklist cards. We know what an artifact looks like and they're not just plain gray.
And a land DFC (at least land on the front face) is impossible because the side with the mana cost is defined as the front face. No mana cost, no way for the game to tell what side is the front.

Due to the fact that there are 2 Blue DFC, they likely didn't want to spoil which side of the alphabet the other card was on.
EDIT: I agree with the idea that the last is a land. If it were a colorless permanent, it'd be at the top of the list, but it isn't. If it were an artifact, it'd have the same marbling as the artifact spot on the other checklist and previous checklists.
There's other ways to define the "front face." Like, for example, the Sun/Moon symbol on the cards.
I agree. I think it's a land... Actually, maybe you could play any face you want or maybe a face can be played only when a certain condition has been met.

That's a good point. My guess is the DFC land will be Mage-Ring Network on steroids; you can spend storage counters for colorless mana, or you can accumulate enough of them to trigger the transformation and whatever scary, splashy thing that entails.

I'm calling it now. The artwork for kindly stranger is a guy inviting you into his windowless, big, white conversion van; using candy as a lure of course.
Or it could be a land that enters with a number (like ten) of counters (maybe ice), and when they're gone it transforms. Maybe into a 20/20 indestructible legendary, for instance.
So we know all the cards from the rare / mythic checklist except for the red rare
SOI Double Faced Rare and Mythic
White – Archangel Avacyn / Avacyn, the Purifier
White – Hanweir Militia Captain / Westvale Cult Leader
Blue – Startled Awake / Persistent Nightmare
Blue – Thing in the Ice / Awoken Horror
Black – Elusive Tormentor / Insidious Mist
Red - ????
Green- Sage of Ancient Lore / Werewolf of Ancient Hunger
Gold – Arlinn Kord / Arlinn, Embraced by the moon
Colorless – Westvale Abby / Ormendahl, Profane Prince

Finally a good white villain quote: "So, do I ever re-evaluate my life choices? Never, because I know what I'm doing is a righteous cause."
Factions: Sleeping
Remnants: Valheim
Legendary Journey: Heroes & Planeswalkers
Saga: Shards of Rabiah
Legends: The Elder Dragons

Numquam evolutioni obstes. Solum conculceris.
Pascite draconem, evolvite aut morimini.
I wonder why Clue is an artifact subtype... I can't wait to find out.
And a DFC gargoyle is awesome

Delver of Secrets / Insectile Aberration
Ludevic's Test Subject / Ludevic's Abomination
Soul Seizer / Ghastly Haunting

Bloodline Keeper / Lord of Lineage
Screeching Bat / Stalking Vampire
Chosen of Markov / Markov's Servant
Ravenous Demon / Archdemon of Greed
Red:
Hanweir Watchkeep / Bane of Hanweir
Instigator Gang / Wildblood Pack
Kruin Outlaw / Terror of Kruin Pass
Reckless Waif / Merciless Predator
Tormented Pariah / Rampaging Werewolf
Village Ironsmith / Ironfang
Afflicted Deserter / Werewolf Ransacker

Other:
Huntmaster of the Fells / Ravager of the Fells
Chalice of Life / Chalice of Death
Elbrus, the Binding Blade / Withengar Unbound

The Deep Ones
Cyborg Huey's Bosh, Iron Golem Deck
Cyborg Huey's Rosheen Meander Deck
BUGThe Dunwich Horror and Other Lovecraftian TalesBUG
Also, the bottom one is likely an artifact. Chalice of Life and Elbrus, the Binding Blade both were on the bottom of the Dark Ascension checklist
Standard - Some kind of control
Modern - UB Mill (casual)
EDH - Meren's Grave Shenanigans
And a land DFC (at least land on the front face) is impossible because the side with the mana cost is defined as the front face. No mana cost, no way for the game to tell what side is the front.
Maybe a new version of dark depths // marit lage?? Using Ice counters for transforming as seen in Thing in the Ice.
