I just received the following newsletter from SCG. I believe this was not supposed to be sent out yet but it implies that something from Bloom titan is confirmed banned.
EDIT: The general opinion is that this email is merely speculation that was poorly worded. At this time there are no cards from Bloom Titan that have been confirmed as banned.
I'm typically not one to get into conversations about bannings and unbannings. My opinion is usually, "whatever happens, happens," and I'll adjust accordingly—but what I saw Bobby Fortanely do at #SCGCIN was too silly for even me to handle. Sometimes it takes actually seeing broken things happen for one to fully understand the problem at hand, and watching Fortanely cast a Turn 2 Primeval Titan through a Remand was more than enough for me to kiss this deck goodbye. So congrats to Bobby Fortanely for doing what so many tried to do before him – getting Amulet Bloom banned from Modern.
So where does that leave us for #SCGCHAR this weekend? Well, Amulet Bloom is still legal for another week or two, so perhaps we'll see many gravitate to that deck while they can still play it, or perhaps people will try to beat the broken deck with an influx of Blood Moons and Fulminator Mages. Either way, we'll find out this weekend as Chris VanMeter, Andrew Boswell, Ken Crocker, and the rest of the @SCGLive crew bring you all the action from The Queen City for the second event of Season One of the SCG Tour.
If you can't make it out to #SCGCHAR, be sure to watch all the action at twitch.tv/scglive!
Unfortunately every try hard from Sacramento to Shanghai preaches from the top of their 27 lands + Mana Reflection that Tooth and Nail and Time Stretch are fine to play in the same turn but Armageddon is unfair.
I'd be fine with this, the interaction of Summer Bloom with the tap lands is a little much.

Okay, enough independent sources for it to be a real e-mail. Thing is, they're saying "it's still legal for a week or two". We have 10 days until the bannings. So why would they write an e-mail like this, with a clear intention of sending it earlier, when it's not longer "a week or two", only "under a week"? And why does SCG have inside banning info, and hell, sends it massively? Looks like more of a "Yeah we're almost sure that Bloom is gonna get banned", not "Bloom banned".
EDIT: ...the title is "Ban incoming for Amulet Bloom". Goddamnit guys, way to overreact. It's clearly a speculation.
In my defense i cant see the pictures from my phone. That said it does seem incredibly poorly worded given that it is speculation.

This is Starcity as well and they are a store. They might be trying to get some buy low on Amulets and Summer Blooms in case it goes through unscathed, then flip them back for a tidy profit. Wait and see I guess.

It's Cedric's opinion, he has been on and off the ban Amulet train for months, saying it's ban worthy is pretty much a repeat of what he said at the end of the finals on stream. That's all, it's his opinion and he's probably correct.
If this is real...
In light of recent events (READ: Leaks) and their repercussions, this is definitely a great time to be posting and commenting on information that Wizards doesn't want released yet.

Really? I mean, seriously?? They are aggressive in the market but if they pulled bs tactics like that it would be the beginning of a very painful road their business model doesn't really work with.
Wow, the b**thurt is strong with this email. Amulet Bloom is one of the least consistent decks in Modern. No way ban worthy. If the deck was consistently casting Primeval Titan on turn 2, yes, ban away, but that doesn't happen nearly as often as the deck's detractors like to claim it does. Plus, the deck requires very high skill, which is another strike against banning it.
If something from bloom titan was going to get banned, it would be the amulet not the titan. Amulet of Vigor was plainly the broken bit here and removing it would cause minimal collateral damage as its so narrow a card whereas prime time and karoo lands have plenty of other uses. Summer Bloom can probably survive without amulet around, I doubt a double barreled approach would be necessary. I wouldn't be surprised to see amulet banned, but this seems like speculation, not proof.

It also completely kills the deck dead, but that's for the ban thread.

"I hope to have such a death... lying in triumph atop the broken bodies of those who slew me..."
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.

This reminds me of Avacyn Restored. After spoilers but before the set was legal everyone on SCG was talking about how bad Miracle was as a mechanic and how it was a trap meant to trick new players. Then at the first big event all the SCG players were playing RWU Miracles. There was talk about whether they had purposely misled their readers into thinking it was bad. This way they could acquire the cards cheaper to sell higher at a later time and also to give their players a better chance at winning the event because less people will have anticipated playing against it. The general consensus was that they merely misevaluated the power of the mechanic as people often do before they've had a chance to actually play with the cards but you never know.

I'd rather they neuter Tron than Bloom. I think there are too many axes that one has to defend against in Modern. One can't have Graveyard hate, spell hate, creature hate, and land hate. At least Bloom is using sorceries, artifacts, and creatures to get the job done. Maybe just banning Tolarian West would be acceptable, but even now I think Bloom is okay and isn't frustrating to play against. Needing to play Ghost Quarter, Tectonic Edge, and Fulminator Mage to combat Tron is a real drag though.
What they SHOULD do in my opinion is ban Ancient Stirrings. They could even use the excuse of "now that colorless cards are their own color, Ancient Stirrings is now more powerful than it was ever intended to be, and for the sake of the Modern format we are banning it." Boom, then you've weakened Bloom AND Tron.

Tolaria West would be a very good ban. The biggest problem with Bloom is that it's able to chain Titan's together, Pact/Titan lets them run 8 Titans, but it's Tolaria West that lets each Titan tutor another Titan.

I've already seen a couple of Amulet Bloom decks run Sleight of Hand instead of Ancient Stirrings. If they truly want to ban Amulet Bloom, ban something else.
As for the original e-mail, it has very strong rhetoric if it's pure speculation. It's worded as if a ban is imminent.
The email and this thread need some context. Amulet Bloom won an SCG event this past weekend. The deck's pilot, Bobby Fortanely, gave a pretty compelling list of reasons why something from the deck needed banned in his trophy acceptance speech. The commentators, including Cedric, strongly agreed after watching the way he played.
Here is a link to the video coverage. The final match starts just before the 9 hour mark. Fortanely and Cedric's comments are in the last few minutes around 9:33: http://www.twitch.tv/scglive/v/33368141
No one has any inside info. It's just that people who are paying attention have very, very good reasons to believe something from the deck is getting banned.
Bloom? Fringe deck. Played it for a while. When it works it works. Problem is consistency. It's not a hard deck to beat if you know what to target.
Who doesn't run shadow of doubt, thoughtsieze, inquisition, torpor orb, or the pletora of other cards that makes this deck fail? Even an elf deck can take it down fairly quickly.
As for Tron, I usually scoop to stony silence, infect, or repeated fulminator mages and scoozes.
The problem is that people whine too much. And whine often enough that wotc decides it wants to ban something. The problem is that just a year ago everything was stifled by pod. When pod was banned the field is wide open now. Not one deck is too good or bad. I guess if infect had won we'd hear people crying thst infect should be banned. Or arcbound ravager. Sorry, but I am tired of hearing people cry because they want modern to be like standard, dominated by the same 3 decks that hss been winning for over a year now. GP Oakland? Let's see 1st vs 2nd and people wondering who will draw Jace first. Yeah... boring. This last year in Modern has been fun, not one deck dominant, a different deck every week. Even Death Cloud can win games. Sure... the format is healthy, do let's screw it up by banning a card here or there because someone got butt hurt.
