I'm a little surprised there haven't been any threads speculating on the theme of the Fall Duel Decks-
especially since we know the theme of the Fall set.
Eldrazi as one of the factions seems like a very safe bet. Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre makes a great face card, as he's super popular in both EDH and Casual,
he's definitely getting a card in the upcoming block,
and a new art foil would sell the decks by itself.
Of course, they could always use *new* Ulamog instead,
but much like with Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind,
the old version is in enough demand to save the new one for the actual set.
As for the counter-Eldrazi faction, there are a few choices.
I'm guessing Allies would be popular and sell well,
especially if they print new Allies in BFZ.
Zendikar itself would also be a formidable foe,
using cards like Avenger of Zendikar, Roil Elemental, and Manlands to represent Zendikar fighting back.
Any other ideas?
Am I on to smething here?
Or will they continue their trend of ultra generic themes with Duel Decks: Good vs. Evil?

I've often thought they could play up the Nature vs. Industry concept that exemplifies the relationship between green and its enemies blue and black, though "Industry" implies artifacts and those would be better saved for an artifact-heavy set.
What about GW Preservation vs. BR Devastation? The Preservation deck is defensive and focuses on supportive effects while the Devastation deck is aggressive and focuses on destructive effects.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
It would be hard to support a five color theme for Allies, so 3 seems most plausible. Bant allies are more likely. Black red eldrazi would provide good symetry.
Since we're shifting to 2 blocks per year, we might see a change in the way those decks work. So we might end up seeing something like Sarkhan vs. Ulamog so every duel deck is both a preview to next block and a last peek on the previous one.

Not to mention, since only one face card gets to be a preview, using OG Ulamog frees up the other face card to be a preview.
If WotC's smart about this, they'll make a 5-color legendary ally the preview face card. Because holy crap are people ravenous for a good commander for their ally EDH decks. You could make the rest of the deck nothing but Scorching Spears, and people would still buy it just to get their hands on that general ASAP.

It's been done before. The Coalition half of Phyrexia vs the Coalition was 5-color, and the Planechase deck with Maelstrom Wanderer in it was too. So it's well within the realm of possibility.

I think that they will abandon faction vs faction decks entirely and only make planeswalker vs planeswalker ones.

I am probably every color-combination it is possible to be, though it's really hard to figure out what it would mean to be 4-colored....it doesn't seem logical to be 4-colored without being 5-colored.
Soul of zendikar would be a neat idea. The planes soul rising up against the eldrazi threat. I know its not a super in demand card but the theme would be awesome.

I think Kozilek. Ulamog was in FTV Legends and Emrakul got a prerelease promo. Kozi deserves a special foil too. He's also one mana cheaper which is important when you're talking about casting stuff in a precon since they're unlikely to go Urzatron or something. Of course, there's actually a good chance they'd do a new eldrazi card since annihilator isn't exactly popular.

That is one of the reasons annihilator is unlikely to return, the other being that it is a borderline broken mechanic. Sacrificing permanents every time an opponent attacks you with one isn't very fun, even less so when your opponent attacks with four or five, forcing you to sacrifice up to a dozen permanents.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
Annihilator isn't broken when you put it on 8+ mana creatures. It's actually also a very flavorful mechanic. The big problems are that first, you can't put it on the little ones and second, it's highly unpopular. I mean really, they should have known there was a problem when you can't put the tribe's signature keyword on most of the tribe.
I'm pretty convinced we'll have Ugin vs. Bolas soon.
Would be a big missed opportunity, but they have missed ones like this before.
True. I think the big stopping point will be that they won't want to a duel deck with the same walker again. So we'd 'need' a new Bolas.
It's possible that they would print a new Bolas in BFZ (since he was integral to the plot of the first Zendikar) and use that as the preview card of the deck. This would allow for Ugin to be reprinted with a foil version of the Ugin's Fate artwork. This would also allow the product to act as both a send off to the Tarkir block while also being a preview for the new Zendikar. It probably won't happen like that, but I'd be super awesome if it did.
Should be soon, last year they announced Speed vs Cunning on April 02, a Wednesday. Maybe next week? There is any convention or other event to happen this month?

Actually there is. The Dragons of Tarkir Pro Tour is this weekend. That seems like as reasonable as a place as any to announce something. I believe they announced Magic Origins at the Fate Reforged Pro Tour.
