Is it just me or does it feel that Tarkir didn't really become stable after Ugin was changed and the clans were reformed by the dragon lords?
Could there perhaps be a counter revolution if we were to re visit this plane?
Such as for Anafenza, Sidisi, Zurgo it seems things did not go quite well in this time line.
Zurgo is his dragon lord's toy, Sidisi is Silumgur's underling, Anafenza is part of her clan's forgot spirit ancesters left to wander.
Narset gained a spark and is intrigued about the past. She could end up poking about just as much as Sarkhan did.
what ever happened to the Ainok and Rakshashas.
It also seems that the dragon broods aren't likely to leave each other alone, and there seems to be an overwhelming chaotic majority with 3 of the 5 favoring aggression: kolaghan, Atarka, Silumgar; while Dromoka and Ojutai are more peaceful.
It just doesn't seem that this plane's puzzle is fully figured out.
I definitely predict there will be a "Return to Tarkir", there seems to be quite a lot of conflict still left.
This is definitely one of my favorite planes so i hope we come back to it.
The new Planeswalker's Guide to Tarkir mentions that the Rakshasa are allied with Silumgar's brood, but not a part of it. (Even if they don't get any card representation outside of KTK :c)
As for everything else, I don't know. Hopefully more info will be gleaned from future Uncharted Realms.
So each of the dragonlord's clan still has some pull back.
Ojutai seems to be suppressing info on the past, and seems somewhat arrogant, yet narset is still intrigued about the past
Silumgar seems to be breeding assassins/ and corrupt/sadistic officials and you know dictators are prone to overthrow.
Kolaghan seems to be waging endless war, sorta like the old mardu but with more emphasis on destruction and slaughter than subsistance.
Atarka seems to be a glutinous bully, who feasts while his people starve.
Dromoka seems to have not been able to quell ancestor worship.
The dragon lords also seem to be carelessly teaching their underlings ways to defeat dragons in order to gain supremacy for their broodlines over all other broodlines. And all the dragonlords rarely care to like hearing any pushback from their clans.
I was thinking that with this push back a yearning for days long ago when they themselves were not under their dragon overlords, and a yearning for traditions of that time. Considering this sometimes takes to the extremes perhaps this idea would be fun.
If we were ever to return and there was a counter revolution against the dragons to get back to the days where the traditions of the clans were more sustainable. What if heretic dragons/ other tribes were born. And their color identity was that of the olden 3 color clans of tarkir: ex kolaghan era back to mardu, however with this new twist as an extreme yearning for what was lost. Instead of a focus of 2 ally colors and an enemy color how about focus of an enemy color with minor identity splashes of the colors 2 enemy colors.
silumgar's UB to BGW
kolaghan's RB to RUW
atarka's RG to GBU
dromoka's GW to WBR
ojutai's UW to URG
They would focus on the enemy identity mostly.
exs:
lets say there was a dragon born of the ojutai bloodline who was wild, playful, reckless (red), but still was clever and righteous. However this doesn't mesh with the ojutai so he is exiled.
A shaman relearning the secret arts of the temur wishing to take care of each of his clan
An orc savior championing his clan for leadership and survival, focus on subistance and family.
A rakshasha stirring up trouble to usurp silumgar with his teachings of wealth/prosperity/stature equals power.
A Warrior heading the whispers of her ancestors with the power to morph dead creatures from the grave.
this counter revolution would basically be civil wars between the clans, as broodlines would align themselves with like minded broodlines and try to put down these revolutionaries. It would end up with either the anihilation of one side or other or maybe even a truce and assimilation back into 3 colors. There could also be the possibility of conflict between good planeswalkers such as narset, ugin, sorin, elspleth, gideon, ajani and sarkhan , and maybe even have Bolas come in and stir some trouble, as pro dragons, neutral/peace, liberators, or chaos.
This set seems to borrow a lot of what New Phyrexia did to Mirrodin. But instead of an uneasy alliance of what the Praetor's have, the dragonlord's flat out hate each other as well as trying to destroy the enemy color identity in which they had. Surrak is pretty much Atarka's food errand boy. I don't recall what happened to Taigam but it is some serious flavor fail for him to not be in a card since he was mentioned so much in Khans as a Traitor and then a somewhat enlightened individual during Fate/Dragons. The potential is there to flesh out more details but it seems like the last set got rushed and they didn't want to balance 3 colors.

To the people that say that a card needs to be a higher rarity because of Limited... I hate you guys so much. I present to you with this.
I suspect the storyline will end with revolutions starting to reinstate the khans and the old status quo, quite likely as a result of Narset's searches.
What I wanna know is, where the heck is Sorin in all of this time shifting madness? Did the Khanfall affect him in some way as well? I think he's mentioned on all of ONE card in the entire set.
Since Khans of Tarkir we have been introduced to the idea of more than one Tarkir, and i think this could be the case for the mess the story line has become . Like since they started with the Unwritten it becomed more obvious Tarkir would be like Rabiah or Alara, a plane that is not just a plane but multiples. I think a future storyline will be the tarkir of Khans metting the Tarkir of Dragonlords.
Now that the spoilers have ended , you can see that indeed there are still alot of ainoks, and rakshasas are refered but doens't have any representative outside a noncreature spell.
And about the clash of dragons in tarkir now, there are like 2 UR saying that dragons are alot teritorial and now the conflict is about teritory , power, principles , and soo ever.
I just disliked that they didn't tell khans' tarkir story of how the 5 brood overmaster got killed , we just got hints of the old khans killing the what should never be the dragonlords, but for how the dragon lords defeated the khans, we got alot of lore

I really hope we don't come back to Tarkir anytime soon, if at all. The whole thing has felt so contrived -- the forced wedge block that Wizards wants to make sure everyone understands was a one-time box-checking exercise, the horrible story with time travel, and playing up Morph as a mechanic so much. The flavor of the world just stinks to me, and there are at least 10 other planes that I would like to see before coming back to this s****ole.
Well in terms of story, they definitely left the door open, as they always do. If/when we go back to Tarkir, I expect a fair amount of wedge cards and support - not as much as in Khans of Tarkir, but definitely a noticeable amount. Aside from probably not wanting to repeat the whole "DRAGONS DRAGONS EVERYWHERE" gimmick, in terms of the greater story, it already accomplished its main purpose - bringing back Ugin. That being said, I see no compelling reason to return at this point - Ugin is alive, and is more than capable of planeswalking away, and with the next block being Battle for Zendikar, next time we see Ugin, I expect to see him somewhere else dealing with the Eldrazi. MaRo hinted we'll find out more about Sorin and Urin in the URs in the coming weeks, so I guess we'll find out more then.
