Hey guys. I thought I would make a place to speculate about the upcoming FNM promos that will be given out as prizes. For those unfamiliar with what cards are chosen, typically the promos are of a highly played common or uncommon from a recent set. For example, February's Promos was a Disdainful Stroke. Here are my thoughts about the next few months:
May: Reality Shift
This seems like the type of card that would get a promo, as it's a simple but interesting uncommon that sees play (or does it? It has potential to). The art could be cool too.
June: Monastery Swiftspear
Part of me thinks that if they would have wanted to make this be a promo, they would have already. The other part thinks that this is a no-brainer. After all, it's seeing heavy play in Standard, Modern, and Legacy, as well as having a fairly hefty price tag for an uncommon.
July:
(Insert card from Dragons of Tarkir here)
They typically like to debut promos from a set a few months after they are released, so it would seem that the time to come out with the first DoT promo would be July.
August: Dark Deal
I don't know if this actually sees play, but there was definitely hype around this card, and it strikes me as the type of card they would want to print a promo of.
September:

I reckon it's time for another one.
Momir Vig, Simic Visionary
Melek, Izzet Paragon
Oona, Queen of the Fae
Bruna, Light of Alabaster
Gisela, Blade of Goldnight
Rhys the Redeemed
Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord
Sen Triplets
The Mimeoplasm WUBRGSliver OverlordGRBUW WUBRGSliver Hivelord(Superfriends)GRBUW
I thought about Seeker and Valorous Stance but I notice wizards rarely prints non-utility creatures as promos, they rarely print specific set keyworded cards, and they rarely print purely utility cards. Both are those cards fall into at least one of those catagories. Cloud form, Dragon, and Blade don't see enough play, but I could see either of the final two.
And I'm pretty sure wizards wants to forget Cruise ever happened...
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.

Pretty sure that Wizards thought the card was going to be a star in Standard Abzan decks; maybe they weren't playing Wild Slash much in the FFL.
Swiftspear needs to be done but can wait a year or two as it's an Eternal card.
Yeah I guess that makes sense. I am surprised Beastmaster isn't seeing more play but it does die hard to removal.
And they typically only print standard cards for these promos.

It's okay dude, they gave us Encroaching Wastes instead!
