Since the game is currently in the Tarkir block, in which Sarkhan is the main character, was anyone expecting that the next duel deck would feature him, and thus was surprised when it did not do so? I was, on both counts.
Since Venser vs. Koth, the planeswalker Duel Decks have all featured planeswalkers from the previous year's block. (For example, the planeswalker Duel Deck released during Theros had RtR 'walkers.)
The angel appears in an image on this page, here. I could not find another source for the image, to post it in this thread, so I shall provide you with a link, instead.
Next Planeswalker Duel Deck? What if Ugin gets a Planeswalker Card and Bolas gets a new one? X VS UBR!! Would make a great duel deck right? So we'd get Sorin vs Ugin instead.
I'm kidding. I'm actually super excited that's it's Elspeth vs Kiora. Really been wanting Kiora, and Elspeth seems cool. I wonder if we'll get Emblems in this Duel Deck? As far as I remember, they've never reprinted an Emblem or given an Emblem alternate art. So, imagine Emblems with Elspeth and Kiora's new art!

Having taken a look at the high-res version of that art recently, I've gotta say, that doesn't really look like Elspeth. It looks like it's from Bant, sure, but it doesn't look like Elspeth specifically.

If Bolas does show up in Dragons of Tarkir, the corresponding Duel Deck would probably be Ugin vs Bolas, would it not? Or is the "feature" 'walker for a block being in that block's DD a requirement?
Still holding out hope for Narset as walker #5

"The true measure of all heroes is not what they achieve, but who they inspire." —Triumph of Gerrard
You know, honestly, I am really hoping we do get Bolas vs Ugin as the next DD. I don't even care if we get a new iteration of Bolas, I'd be great with new art on the old walker card for Bolas.
Aside from that, it's really tough to make a statement yet since we're only 3 walkers in right now, but considering how major the conflict is, the dragons against each other would be fantastic. But then again, we might get something irrelevant again, like Sorin vs That Guy! or Sarkhan vs Walker 4.
Still... people looooooove dragons and they'd probably make a weird pair of decks to play against each other.
Considering we got duels with such bases as Elspeth vs. Tezzeret, Venser vs. Koth, and Elspeth vs. Kiora, we could well see something like Sarkhan vs. Sorin or more gallingly Sarkhan vs. Ugin. If people are right about Ramaz appearing in DTK for whatever reason, though, Sarkhan vs. Ramaz is one possible option. Sorin vs. Ramaz would be interesting as all five colors would be represented between them. Since DTK won't be about wedges per se there's more room for Bolas to get a card, though if he's showing up in the altered future then Sarkhan may have reason to worry unless post-Mending Ugin is strong enough to kick post-Mending Bolas' behind. And even if the next DD isn't Ugin vs. Bolas, there's always the option of fanmade duel decks.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
There is no way it will be Nico Bolas VS Ugin. The trend seems to be the main character of the set VS another random planeswalker.
Why? Look at the last two DD.
(1) Jace (Main Character) VS Vraska (Random PW with no story line in the novel at all)
(2) Elspeth (Main Character) VS Kiora (Kiora does have some impact in the story but much smaller than Xenagos and Ajani. Ashiok was actually the one that I predicted but he/she did confront with Dack already so that might be the reason.)
I think Wizards try to put 2 PW in this way to (1) elaborate more of details about the main character (2) give a little more story to the unknown PW.
My guess that the next DD will be Sarkhan VS Random PW in DTK. Let's see.
To be clear, they began the Theros DD with the intent of doing Elspeth vs Xenagos, but the problem they ran into was the fact that it wanted to be far far too much like Heroes vs Monsters. (white vs green/red)
THIS is why they chose Kiora. Not to give her more exposure or anything of the like, but because their first choice was too similar to an existing product.
Ugin is, also, while not the face of the block, certainly the face of Fate Reforged, which is good enough for me.
Plus, I just really really want them to make the deck.
Ugin ultimate make the player draw 7 card, gain 7 life and put 7 permanent from his hand to play. Bolas Destroy 7 permanent, make opponent lose 7 life and discard 7 cards.
Both look alike, except horn, color pattern and wing.
So if they indeed make a new Bolas, just don't mess him to much.
I don't mean to necro this part of the thread, but the reason why the angel resembles her is that both the angel and Elspeth are both wearing traditional Bant clothing. If you look at Empirical Archangel, Filigree Angel, and Stoic Angel they all wear similar clothing to Elspeth and the angel. So the angel appearing in the photo is most likely going to be a reprint of a Shards of Alara card or a card to be given a more Bant like feel.
As for the Tarkir DD it's really hard to tell as the three planeswalkers out right now have all at one time been pretty pricey and they usually include one of the really good planewalkers and one of the so-so planeswalkers. But if we are going with theme it should hopefully be Ugin vs Bolas.
I very much like the idea of Ugin versus Bolas, but Bolas' deck would need to be different from his deck in Ajani versus Nicol Bolas. Also, what would Ugin have for lands, and would his entire deck be colorless, or would it have some colors (I shall admit that I like the idea of Ugin's deck being red/white/blue, to show that he and Bolas are very similar, yet very different at the same time).

Oh, no: not this again. Mark Rosewater said that someone wished to have a counterspell with delve in this block, but it was vetoed; in my mind, someone needs to veto the idea of colorless basic lands and strike it dead, before it can gain any traction.

Hate to break it to you, but your mind-vetoing powers didn't work this time. It was confirmed by Aaron Forstyhe to be happening. Not necessarily in DTK, or even Standard, but in the near future.

I really hope that their solution does not completely upset the game, since basic lands are a fundamental aspect of it. Making a colorless basic land, to me, does not make sense, since it would be treating colorless as if it were a color, and colorless is not a color in its own right.

I don't think people really need to worry. The only real significant difference between these cards and the many cards that already add colorless to your mana pool will be the "basic" that lets you put as many of them into your deck as you need, and the fact that it isn't likely to have an ability like so many of those colorless land cards have.
