So more or less, an Ugin Planeswalker card is highly possible to appear soon. What do you think would be it's abilities - first, second, maybe a third ability, and the ultimate?
+X: Target permanent becomes colorless. X is the number of colors that permanent was.
Just sucks the colors right out of you. Keep him away from your art supplies.
+1: Until end of turn you can use colorless mana as though it were mana of any color.
Based on Emrakul's ability suite and based on the info that Ugin was vital to helping imprison the Eldrazi because of his knowledge of ('skill with'?) colorless magic (can't locate the Mothership article atm where I read this but I KNOW I did..) I would bet money one of his abilities turns SPELLS colorless.
He could have some exile ability too, due to Perilous Vault and the whole Eldrazi Imprison thing
Time is also related to Ugin, as you guys pointed.
However, since he is most likely going to be colorless, focus on exile and time mechanics would make him too close from Karn. So they might explore other aspects of Ugin.
I was thinking that maybe something akin to Nissa Revane's ultimate, but for Dragons, could be used to represent the "elemental storms" that used to bring Dragons to Tarkir. Or perhaps it could be giving you an Emblem that gives you a Dragonstorm per turn.
I believe they're moving away from tribal-matter Planeswalkers as they limit the number of decks it is useful on (I may have got this wrong and they could be talking only about Nissa caring about a specific card).
I'd love something like Dragonstorm on a walker, but I think it is more likely to see Dragon tokens.
Ugin, <insert title here> <rather expensive colorless mana cost> Planeswalker - Ugin {M}
/+2\ Turn target permanent face down. (It's a 2/2 creature.)
\-4/ You may put a colorless card from your hand onto the battlefield.
\-9/ Choose colored or colorless. Exile all permanents your opponents control of the chosen kind.

How to use card tags (please use them for everybody's sanity)
[c]Lightning Bolt[/c] -> Lightning Bolt
[c=Lightning Bolt]Apple Pie[/c] -> Apple Pie
Vowels-Only Format Minimum deck size: 60 Maximum number of identical cards: 4 Ban list: Cards whose English names begin with a consonant, Unglued and Unhinged cards, cards involving ante, Ancestral Recall
The only way I could see Ugin have this heavy colorless focus is if the third set is the colorless matters set. If Ugin gets a card he will doubtlessly be colorless, but things like making spells or permanents colorless, or flipping cards face-down only really make sense with enough cards to support those mechanics. Especially as a planeswalker, Wizards would want his abilities to be relevant.
While I'm sure we'll see him as a PW, I don't think he'll have anything to do with morph. So far, I don't think we've seen any PWs reference any non-evergreen keyword abilities, and I don't think they'd start just yet. I would like to see him manipulate spells/creatures/other permanents/etc... to be colorless, though.
I think he'll have an ability that turns creatures face down and works well with morph. Some ideas
Ugin, the Spirit Dragon 8
+2 Ugin deals 3 damage divided amoung any number or target creatures or players. Creatures dealt damge this way become colorless
-1 Turn target creature face down. It becomes a colorless creature with no abilities and 2/2 base power and toughness.(Or however you would word that).
-4 Take and extra turn after this one.
-12 Gain control of all colorless permanents, than turn all face down creatures face up.
5
Sticks with the colorless theme, has burn ability in reference to Ghostfire, interacts with morph without requiring it, and references the time travel element. Personally I would like to see something like this.
Ugin, Spirit Dragon (7)
+1 until next turn you may cast any spell or activate any activated ability using colorless mana instead spells cast this way are considered colorless.
-2 deal 3 damage to target creature or player
-7 you get an emblem with "At the end of each turn if this was not an extra turn take an extra turn after this one"
Loyalty:4
I'd love his plus ability to be Ghostfire. And I'm guessing he's going to be Jeskai colored, but with a waiver that he's still colorless. He'll probably be obnoxiously expensive to be a proper foil to Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker.
Ugin, the Spirit Dragon5WUR Planeswalker - Ugin
Ugin and his abilities may count as colorless, whenever it is most beneficial to you.
+1 - Deal damage equal to 2 plus the amount of mana in your mana pool to target creature, or deal 2 damage to target player.
0 - Spells you cast until the start of your next turn count as colorless. Add 1 to your mana pool. You may treat mana as if it were any color.
-12 - You gain an emblem with: "You may play cards you own in exile." and "Spells and permanents you control may count as colorless when it is most beneficial to you." and, "You may add 3 to your mana pool at the start of any turn or phase, if your mana pool is empty."

Ugin, [TITLE] (6)
Planeswalker - Ugin
+1: Exile target creature. As long as it remains exiled, its owner may pay (3) to return it to the battlefield.
-5: Take an extra turn after this one.
-7: You get an emblem with "You may pay (X) rather than pay the mana cost for spells you control, where X is that spell's converted mana cost."
{5}
+2: Ugin, the Spirit Dragon deals 3 damage divided as you choose among one, two, or three target creatures and/or players.
-1: Turn target nonland permanent face down.
-4: Gain control of target colorless nonland permanent.
-10: You get an emblem with "Permanents you control are colorless and have protection from all colors." Take an extra turn after this one.
+X doesn't work on planeswalkers, as the cost is 'paid' before any effects resolve. This means you could +1000 him, then the ability would be countered for an illegal target, but that doesn't really matter then.
Pretty sure you are incorrect. You cannot activate a targeted ability unless there is a legal target for each target required. Also, analogous abilities exist on other permanents. Bargaining Table, Chromatic Armor, Deepfire Elemental, Elite Arcanist, etc. There are plenty of examples. Since the value of X is specified in the effect, you cannot just arbitrarily pick an X that does not match with it.

Good point but there is a huge difference between manacosts X and '+X', I think they would never print +X and rather make a Gideon, Champion Of Justice wording whichever effect you would want.
The only difference between X and +X is that X already has a natural bound whereas +X would need a defined bound or be linked to a natural bound in the effect. For example, you could have +X: you lose X life. That is less likely than a defined bound because it can be countered and is therefore more dangerous. I do agree that they are more likely to copy Gideon 2's ability style where the counters are added in the effect. It would make more sense with this ability since removing the target before resolution would prevent the counters from being added, but that is more for flavor than viability. Defined bounds are quite safe. The reason I am saying +X and X are not very different is because +X is very controlled by being sorcery speed so the effect can moderate how much you can reasonably pay.
Actually, the most likely reason Gideon was written that way is for wording elegance. It is much more difficult to demand mana in the effect than in the cost, whereas counters can be easily added in the effect.
Given he is time travel related, like Karn Liberated, makes me think he might have a similar ultimate to Karn, but to save yourself. Something like
Ugin, Spirit Dragon 9
Planeswalker - Ugin
+3: Ugin deals 3 damage to target creature or player.
-2: Exile target permanent
-15: You get an emblem with "If you would lose the game, sacrifice this emblem and end the turn instead. Your life total becomes 20. Shuffle all cards you own into your library, draw 7 cards and take 3 extra turns after this one."
6
Basically, the ultimate inserts your coin to continue.
For the people who really want "your creatures have Morph" to be a thing, I think most of the problems would be solves by making it a Conspiracy. Then it stays true during the whole game and there's no question of "when did you cast this exactly?".

Or an emblem!

MAYBE turn permanents face down, could act as a removal if the creature has no morph.
Could put some dragon tokens too, but I'm not really believing this.

True. Was a wording issue, it's not how it was intended. Edited my post.
