Oh come on, you are smarter than this. Do you really think that they'd print one of the 5 most color-intensive shard cards in a wedge set?

Use the big thing located between your ears, please.
Color-demanding shard card in a wedge set? This alone should tell you it is a total nonsense.
The fact that the art is clearly used in the trailer just because of the importance to Sarkhan's storyline?
And the theory of yours is flawed as well...the JOU trailer had images from Elspeth's past, including Koth and New Phyrexians. Were they in JOU? No.
Seriously, there is a forum called "Baseless Speculation".
And the more threads I see here in the recent days, I think that creating a subforum of "Any-random-thing-that-occured-to-me-so-I-just-ran-here-immediately-to-post-without-thinking-about-it" could be of use here.

Used that big thing in between my head (it is quite massive and awesome thanks) to rewatch the jou trailer, none of the art depicted any cards from other sets. Not gonna sift through every mtg trailer to try and find cards that don't match the set, but in general the set is coterminous with the art in the trailers. Could just be random cruel ultimatum art, don't really care but it would be cool either way. If I'm wrong, sorry to desecrate the holiness that is this virtual message board. As apologetic as I am for making you cringe at the site of such a stain, I can assure that it will be gone soon enough. I'm here to give you moral support in the meantime because I can truly empathize with how upset this made you. Feel free to PM me with your feelings, we will get through this I promise
I was talking about the extended trailer, my bad, I did not realize that the images of Karn, Elesh, Koth and Daxos were present only there.
You are forgiven, link to extended trailer please? I've exhausted like 2 minutes trying to find it on youtube
I've even tried searching for the extended trailer multiple times with the same keywords and for some reason the same videos keep popping up; none of which are trailers depicting card art that's not in the set.
The differences are only in the JOU part - with Karn and Elesh after Kruphix's appearance (4:29). Koth and Daxos at 4:42. And, of course, the after-the-credits scene with Ajani mourning Elspeth and the short visit to Erebos's realm, with the ending shot with broken Godsend and Elspeth's Returned mask.

That's not even card art, they're just cgi figures that are on display during intermission. Not really comparable to a typical trailer that's full of nothing but card art nor do the cgi remakes of karn/elesh/we have any part in that storyline they're trying to convey.
1.) So far, to my knowledge, every trailer's card art has been directly related to the actual printings of said cards
a. Cruel ultimatum was featured in the khans trailer
2.) Grixis has both on color fetches in this set
So despite this set having an emphasis on wedges rather than allied shards, I don't think it's completely baseless/ludicrous to say that cruel ultimatum is getting a reprint.
Have I ever said that it's probable? no, but it's not that far-fetched of a possibility is all I'm sayin

Show me one card in Shards of Alara block that was wedge-colored. One card! You can't, because there were none. If there weren't any wedge cards in the shard block, then why would there be shard cards in a wedge block?
Yeah, wizards never actually threw a curveball at us before. In this case, I think that this curveball would be cruel ultimatum, the card depicted in the trailer. Not one card in any trailer so far has failed to show up in said set, so blah blah blah possible for cruel ultimatum to get reprinted blah blah, don't care anymore

Corrupted Conscience was in the Theros Block Reels but that sure didn't show up in Theros block. What I think and hope will be in the next set, however, are wedge-colored ultimatums.

To further Alestra point... the art for Phalanx Formation appears in the Born of the Gods trailer (0:47-0:48 seconds mark) yet wasn't a card until the next set. So yes elMochaLatte you have seen a card art in a trailer that wasn't in the set. And dont go thinking that's your out for being right. A greek phalanx in a greek flavored block is one thing. But being that MaRo stressed that only this set is wedge it doesn't mean the rest of the block will still feature heavy multi color. Thats a precompromise they made for using multicolor again much earlier than the four year wait they realize is the minimum. They realize a three year return for multicolor was to soon during Alara and that players got burned out on it. Fate Reforged will have some multi color support to draft with Khans, but its also going to support 'Louie' which isn't going to be multicolor. Because doing one multicolor set is less burn out than just doing another multicolor block only a year after the last one.

One question? Since when have they said Louie is not multicolored?
They said it was a bad idea making two multicolored blocks too close to each other (like Ravnica, Lorwyn and Alara were).
"But then why make KTK so close to RTR?"
"Well, Khans of Tarkir is a wedge set, but not a wedge block".
This implies the rest of the block is not simply not-wedge, totally not-multicolor (i.e., around Theros-level of gold cards), to justify having it only two years after Return to Ravnica.
That happens when people blatantly don't use their brains before they post.
Also, hasn't wizards mentioned that they won't print partial cycles? So, if we had this we would have to have brilliant ultimatum ect. also? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

I doesn't imply anything, they said its not a wedge block doesn't mean that the last set can't also be multicolor? Just becuase they say its not a wedge block doesn't mean it will have 2 wedge sets

Still - the fact that it is a SHARD card and this is a WEDGE set shall be enough for anybody to realize it is a nonsense.

I have a feeling that the next set in this block is going to be a Shards set actually, and it probably won't be a card in there either.
It would be pretty awesome if they made Wedge Ultimatums though.
EDIT: Also, the Phyrexian trailer for Mirrodin Besieged has art from both Scars of Mirrodin and Mirrodin Besieged, the trailer for New Phyrexia has the art of Corrupted Conscience, a Mirrodin Besieged card, and the trailer for Avacyn Restored has the art for Helvault, Elgaud Inquisitor, and Thalia, Guardian of Thraben. Other trailers with arts from cards not in the set include Gatecrash, Dragon's Maze, and Born of the Gods.
