The sky tyrants of Jund were mere beasts, no matter how powerful. None there deserved my service. And I began to wonder if any dragon lived in all the worlds who could be what I sought. One who could lead me, instruct me, bring out all my potential.
One did. But you did not listen.
"I put him where he lies." Did not Bolas tell me this? Or maybe it is Bolas who lies. What dragon did I hear? Who do I hear now? Maybe the mountain seers were right. The world remembers what its people have forgotten.
A name.
Ugin.
I am here now, phantom. You tell me to return. To a world that rejects me, as my master rejected me? What awaits me here?
Find the doorway.
Nothing but riddles! Trickery! What doorway? This world is a battleground. Nothing stands for long. What would you have me do?
Tarkir is a place with no future and a contended present. In the long past, though...we human had built something to endure. Our civilization had lasted for centuries despite the constant attacks of dragons. Or was it because of them? To compete together against a powerful enemy—that was what made us strong. But when the storms stopped, and the sky kings fell, that was the start of our fatal weakness.
I hear the hunters' horns. I feel the arrows' wind. The dust of numberless hooves sweeps across my sight. The battle is on me, as it has always been. The answer is here, somewhere on my world, but not in this place. My travels are not yet at an end.
I hear your voice. I will seek again the whisperers of the mountaintops. Maybe they hear you as well. I will find the door.
Seems very likely, even before the article mentioned the name Ugin, I was thinking what other powerful dragon is there. I wouldn't be surprised if Ugin shows up in the last set when we travel back in time to an age where Urgin is still young and hasn't dealt with the eldrazi yet.
Seems very likely Blood will be the return to ravnica.

Um... I was under the impression it is the middle set that takes place back in time, and the last set is one that takes place in a changed present.

Not sure, I was under the impression the time travel was back of the last block but now that you mention it. Hmmm also has anyone been watching the latest Fairy Tail Anime ?

In another Thread a guy speculated about the "third" eye of the Jeskai and the flavor text of Ghostfire ( That mentions Ugin (for the first time in the game) and a 3rd eye that only his followers had(and this eye could see the invisible flame)(that chandra while in the eye of Ugin also made)).
The hedron is Sarkhan's staff he got in the eye of Ugin aswel ( in the same comic chandra uses ghost fire).
It was kind of gathering together(this theory) and then M15 came, and then Tarkir started to show up...
Now i think its confirmed that we will hear more of Ugin in this block...
(with this UR)
Khans of Tarkir ( Present )
Dragons of Tarkir ( Past )
3rd set -> alternative timeline or Ugin returning to the future..........:o
Set 2: This "doorway" is a portal to the past. Sarkhan goes through the portal and witnesses the fight between Ugin and Bolas. We find out what actually happened.
If Bolas killed Ugin: Sarkhan finds where Ugin died, and plans to resurrect the dragon once back in his own time
If Bolas simply imprisoned Ugin: Sarkhan finds the prison and plans to free Ugin in the present
Set 3: Nicol Bolas senses Ugin's presence once again and travels to Tarkir. Epic battle between Ugin and Bolas ensues.
Well let's just hope that Ugin lives so we can have a super powerful good dragon planeswalker in the Magic universe. I think it's very reasonable to be say the possibility of UGin to be included in Khans is pretty likely.
Isn't Ugin the master of colorless magic? I wonder if the Jeskai are indeed his followers, (eye as their symbol) if so what implications does that have with colorless spells..... Will the spells be colorless but cast with Jeskai colors? Seems like this set could have some really cool cards if so.....
Another in a long line of suggestions pointing to Ugin. Also recall the near-colourless dragon spirit in Sarkhan's Rise of the Eldrazi artwork (Sarkhan the Mad) leading up to his use of Ugin's hedrons.
This article can be summed up in one line and I quote: I had arrived in paradise. Dragons are the best.
Something of note that I have found is that dragon extinction on Tarkir is not spelled out completely. What I mean by that is no specific reason or means is given for why dragons went extinct. It has been mentioned that they were hunted by the peoples of Tarkir. That's it. Nothing more. What is the true or full reason?
That story confirms my speculation that Sarkhan does hear Ugin. IMO, Ugin will get a card in Dragons of Tarkir.
My other predictions based on that story:
Ugin is from Tarkir and wants either his body back or his brethren's bodies back (Ugin is the Spirit Dragon, so he might have accepted that his body is gone). Tarkir dragons have their bodies in Dragons of Tarkir.
The "ancient draconic magic" of Morph is colorless. Ugin is a master of colorless magic. I hesitate to say that Ugin is colorless (I keep imagining him as Boros-colored for some strange reason), but he likely knows how to Morph and was inspired to learn more colorless magic from that knowledge. (Actual planeswalker cards with Morph would be frightening, though...)
Ugin may not be fully good-aligned--he may be using Sarkhan to get Tarkir dragon bodies and pride back.
All Tarkir sets will have Morph. There will be one or more Tarkir dragon cards with Morph.
The next block will be Return to Zendikar (I don't think Sarkhan hearing Ugin, Nissa getting more storyline, and Sorin being namedropped on the mothership in connection to the Eldrazi are coincidences). Sorin and Ugin will reunite either in Tarkir block or in Return to Zendikar block. (Nissa sounds apologetic to boot.)
I would love to see Ugin as the second colorless Planeswalker. I hope she is in the set, or at least in the block. I also wouldn't mind seeing Sarhkin, Ugin's Disciple as a planeswalker.

Whether as a planeswalker, a legendary dragon creature with morph, or both.
It's less likely we'll see Ugin in the first set.
The second set will be set back in time. So we'll see the legendary creature card for Ugin here most likely.
Then the third set, we join Sarkhan in finally meeting Ugin.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.

In the comics the spirit of the Dragon was from a dragon the eldrazi killed outside of the cave ( it was shown in the comic "enter the Elrazi")...
EDIT: but seeing again those spirits are a litle diferent...
It seems so weird that they have not spoiled the winter set name by now that i think it will not be Dragons of Tarkir. Maybe, just maybe, the title of that set is a spoiler in itself that they don't want to spoil it. I've been thinking about a name such as Ugin[UGN] or something that has Ugin in its name.
It is possible that Dragons of Tarkir is the spring set which will mirror the first set to a certain degree (ofc not Wedges).
For the second set I am going to go with the possibility of a full-on colorless theme. It can easily tie two draft environments.
I for one hope the set will be called Enter the Ugin
Also hope we get a cycle of colorless mana spells like ghostfire

NOTHING is CONFIRMED. I am really sick of seeing people using word "confirmed" left and right in recent days. Just like the bullet points.
Ugin will be CONFIRMED when we see his card.
Nevertheless, the chances of Ugin being present somehow in KTK block have risen to the probability bordering with certainty with today's UR.

I had a glimpse into the past.
You're going to have to do for me what I once did for you.
Bolas: You will need me as well.
Side by side to end this war before it ever begins.
Sarkhan: So, I wake up in my younger body and then what?
Ugin: Find me.
Convince me of all this.
Bolas: It's going to take the two of us.
Sarkhan: And where do I find you?
Bolas: A different path.
A darker path.
Ugin: Sarkhan, I was a very different dragon.
Lead me.
Guide me.
Be patient with me.
Sarkhan: Patience isn't my strongest suit.
Jace: I don't want your suffering!
I don't want your future!
Ugin: Please, we need you to hope again.
