THE SULTAI BROOD:
-Human
-Undead (Skeleton/Zombie)
-Minotaur
The Snakes could be like the old Werewolf cards were at one point called Lycanthrope and have even been called Wolf Mutant and Wolf Minion. Something may be happening the same for snakes. These may be like the older Werewolf cards and be Snake Somethings, or maybe they will be changing like the Werewolfs and could be called Naga as other have suggested. There are currently three snake cards that look similar to these guys and one of them is a Snake Elf Druid.
I don't think those are Rodents(Rat) if you look at Zurgo Helmsmasher his creature type is Orc yet he looks like those Rodents.
I also think the creatures on the bottom left look very similiar to the Hobgoblins from Eventide.
Oh, something like an Isamaru-ish or Steppe Lynx-ish, or a bigger Kitten/Hound type of creature would be totally awesome.
On another note, it seems to me like this set could be a great opportunity to introduce some new beaters for Zoo/Boros to be used in Modern.
Of course this is just wishful thinking, but a set with a possible plethora of Kittens/Hounds or even Orcs sounds like the place for this kind of creatures.
So, come the 20th of September, does the Zoo re-open?
I'm hopeful that we get more pieces to make Zoo stronger in modern. I love zoo.
Because snake is already a subtype, while Naga aren't.
For the same reason Leonie have the subtype cat.
The rat-man guys have the subtype Rat.
At the same time we have Minautor with his own subtype instead of cow or Auroch or anything else.
While they might call them Naga or any other race they wish to call them, "Orochi thing" "Salaman".... I am confident they will have the subtype snake.
Again, zoom in on the "Minotaur"... It has leonin fangs like the tiger-leonin shown in the previous pic, and it's very obviously wearing some form of metal headpiece. I think it's a leonin and the horns are part of a metal dragon-styled helmet, NOT a Minotaur.
Well, the presence or absence of goblins would depend on the ecosystem of Tarkir, the state of predator-prey relationships on the plane, the geography and mana topography of its mountainous areas, so I mean, it’s complicated—
OHHHhhh you said to give it to you straight. Well, that’s binding, so:
Yes, there are goblins on Tarkir. (I mentioned goblins during the SDCC panel.) Yay!
What's up with the guys in the lower left of the Mardu picture? Their heads are way bigger than any of the orcs. I can't tell if people are riding them or they are crawling around or something.
I immediately noticed them as well - I suspect they might be the local brand of Goblin.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.
[thread=239793][Game] Level Up - Creature[/thread]
Using only Futuresight futureshifted cards, these are some possible creature types/creatures that could be in KTK:
Fomori Nomad - seems like it would fit into the theme of KTK.
Centaur Omenreader - people keep talking about the SNOW subtype & it's static ability goes along with convoke from M15.
Henchfiend of Ukor - could possible fit the KTK theme, though Ogres are more of Kamigawa thing. *Ukor kinda sounds like he/she would be related to Ugin.

Fomori Nomad: Wrong plane. The Fomori Giants are from Ir.
Centaur Omenreader: We have had no indication that KTK will have centaurs. At all.
Henchfiend of Ukor: Possible, but considering that it has Echo... Not likely because although we know that KTK has two returning mechanics, it will only have six mechanics total, which means that Echo would be limited to only one of the five clans, which seems extremely unlikely.
Korlash, Heir to Blackblade. This guy is likely on Dominaria as that is where Dakkon, a previous wielder of the blackblade resided.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
Looking at the Jeskai and Abzen pictures, perhaps one of their Aven is Aven Mindcensor? Wizards is always trying to reprint Modern cards, and they skipped that one in Modern Masters. Seems like a decent fit.
Even if the Chinese did have something similar in their mythology (did they?)
The japanese "Tengu" comes from the chinese "Tiangou", which is another mythical being. However, Tiangous seem to have been depicted as black dogs. The bird folk of Tarkir will just have "bird" in their typeline ... I think it's wrong to assume they will be somehow given a new fancy creature type.
No one is implying a new creature type is expected, they're suggesting that on Tarkir, their names for "bird people" and "snake people" MIGHT be Tengu and Naga respectively, just as Theros labeled their merfolk as "Tritons", while not affecting the creature type "Merfolk" at all. Also, someone doubted the use of Tengu for bird folk for reasons they associate with the attitude of mythological Tengu, that hasn't stopped any other race's naming so far. The Orochi were certainly not a single antagonistic entity, for example. I'm not sure about the cats vs dogs thing, but that would be interesting.

3WWU, 2GWW, and 4RWW! These were the mana costs chosen to summon the perfect little angel! But Professor Avacyn accidentally added an extra ingredient to the concoction! Chemical x Thus, the Powerpuff Girls were born! Using their ultra super powers, Gisela, Bruna, and Sigarda have dedicated their lives to fighting crime and the forces of evil!
Einok? (no idea how to spell it) Warrior puppies, found in Abzan and likely in Temur based on that other warrior.
Djinn Found in Jeskai, probably the big blue guy some thought was an orc.
Efreet Also in Jeskai, likely the lanky guys.
Rakshasa Demon kitties found in Sultai. They seem to behave like demons in that they trade power for other stuff.
How did no one post this information until after the panel recording was released? It's as if everyone at the panel was sleeping during the presentation.
Those dog people look cool, I'm really diggin them.
I love the take on the Efreet and Djinn. Way awesome use of putting a great spin on known creature types.
Naga are ok. Never been much into snake people for some reason. I love lizard people but don't love snake people? Something is wrong with me there.
The demon cats look like regular leonin for now. I know that they said that they were demon cats, but they just look like regular cats. Not too interested on my end.
I love what they did to the Orcs. Great way to bring that tribe back.

Is the creature on the Sultai clan picture supposed to be one of those demon cats? The bulky thing with red eyes. Or the close-up from the helmed tiger? Maybe we haven't seen them after all.

They were not specific on that point. They said that the Naga were the snake people and that the Rakshasa would fit into your cat and demon decks. The cats apparently are the necromancers of the plane. When they talked about the new cat race, they showed the picture of that tiger cat. I assume that the one you reference in the clan picture is one, but they did not point out what it was specifically. They only mentioned the two races as being new to the Sultai.
so right around 40 mn into the video, the first question asked was about walkers. MaRo says that there would be other 3 color walkers made in the future. I can't recall any that are presently three color walkers. but he says that we won't have another one anytime soon. Did anyone else notice that?

THE TEMUR FRONTIER:
-Human
-Minotaur
-Cat or Hound/Wolf/Werewolf
That guy on the right that some think looks like a St.Bernard could also be a lion.
Follow the link for nice cheap clothing.

Give it to me straight, Doug. Are there goblins in Khans of Tarkir?
