Yeah, the beast tokens of Garruk in this stylepreceded Thragtusk by several years, not the other way around. This is most probably a black beast token.

Creature - Zombie Beast
When Quagtusk enters the battlefield, target opponent loses 5 life.
When Quagtusk leaves the battlefield, target creature gets -3/-3 until end of turn. "Always carry two Faith's Shield."
3/5
I don't think that would be super appropriate for beast within. I'd prefer art with a creature ripping out of something. Like a transformation of the beast.

That would be an even bigger nightmare than the original.
I doubt they'd reprint Thragtusk in Standard straight up. They have said that it was both a little bit too good and a little bit too splashable. So if they decide to go down that route, I would imagine that they print a variant where they either gave it a GG casting cost and/or tweaked one of its numbers a little.
It would probably be a lot less amazing without the blink-o-bird though.
Swagtusk is probably a little too powerful for the current toned-down Standard environment, but I don't think he would be too oppressive without Restoration Angel and Sphinx's Revelation. Also, I'm pretty sure that token is just representing a corrupted version of the usual beast tokens Garruk makes. He'll probably have a + ability that puts a G/B Beast Token onto the field.
We'd still have to deal with a Restoration-esque card in the form of Quickling though. Sure its not as good as Restoration Angel, but it still sets up abusing the enter/leave play effects. I'd be happy if Thragtusk never came back in any shape or form.

It's clearly a zombie beast (Thragtusk race), it's missing a leg and has cloudy eyes. The art ratio implies a token with an effect.
Good walkers historically protect themselves in someway, such as creature tokens for chump blocking, which Garruk has always had. New one probably will too.
*What I mean by good is that the flagship walker for the set shouldn't disappoint.
Quickling is indeed so far from resto angel it isn't funny. Resto cheats mana like crazy and at worst is a 3/4 flash flier for 3W. Quickling can't even be a 2 mana 2/2 flash flier for 1U. And mana efficiency? You're actually paying 9GGU to get two triggers off thragtusk with quickling. 12 mana should win you the game on the spot but this doesn't necessarily do so.
Nobody's pointed out the purple veins? Isn't that a pretty clear indication of the Chain Veil's influence?
It's not a regular pattern like Liliana's Reaver, but that could mean the beast has been corrupted by the Veil's power through Garruk's presence instead of directly infected by it like Liliana tends to do.
Definitely a black beast token. The resemblance to Thragtusk is there, sure, but so is the similarity to the regular beast token. Nonetheless, I somehow really want to see a corrupted version of tusk, just because it was such a menace in standard, it simply earns it.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
I would find it super odd they would reprint one transform card. I mean printing one gold card ala m13 is one thing but reintroducing a mechanic for one card is pretty out there. I would think it that is near 100% that it isn't the transform card. PLus in the current meta he would get torn up by all the huge creatures

Is it just me, or does that look like a veil-cursed Thragtusk?

Garruk, Caller of Beasts has a similar beast behind him.
The beast token looks like this guy, but that token may have been in reference to Thragtusk.

It is a possibility, but I doubt we would see Thragtusk again, and if so, he won't be nearly as dominant as last time around.

On a side note, what if Beast Within were one of Garruk 5.0's abilities? That seems remarkably in-flavor.

Zombie Thragtusk would be sick.
More likely it will be Garruk ability that put a G/B Token beast. If not, I can think of a Green creature that put a G/B or Black token when it die.
