Kiora, the Crashing Wave on the wiki is said to be from Zendikar and here looking for essentially a means to fight the eldrazi. Now that we have seen Godsend I have to wonder if we are working on some sort of way for Kiora to utilize it in the future to fight the eldrazi. This to me seems like a means to reprint fetchlands that everyone is so interested in seeing. Obviously this is just me throwing out baseless speculation but I thought her reasons for being in Theros were a bit odd to be honest.
Does anyone else assume that we are going to see a cycle back to Zendikar soon basing on her history and reasons for being in Theros?

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
She was in Theros because she was so popular from the DotP game that Wizards decided that she needed to be in a set ASAP. I forgot which DailyMTG article had all of this info in it, but they considered having her appear in the Return to Ravnica block, but decided that she didn't mesh well with the merfolk of that world (flavor-wise). They thought she made perfect sense in a world with plenty of sea monsters. Kiora's background in being from Zendikar is newly created for Born of the Gods, though, and it kind of surprised me (especially her back story about needing to fight the Eldrazi, since her deck in DotP 2012 curved out at Kozilek, Butcher of Truth and Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre). I definitely think that a return to Zendikar isn't far off because of how they wrote Kiora's back story, and there will very likely be a fetchland reprint at that point (if it hasn't happened sooner).
Kiora has proven to be a very popular character since her card was released in BNG, making her that much more likely to return when we return to Zendikar.
The only thing worthless about this thread is youre reaction to it.
You refer the OP to a thread that focuses on the discussion of fetch lands.
Is he supposed to know that kiora being a prelude to the return of the eldrazi already came to be discussed in that thread?
Now i don't agree with the idea of Kiora being here for godsend, but i do encourage people thinking outside the box.
Assuming Kiora=Zendikar=Fetchlands, then we are at least 18 months out from seeing a reprint of fetchlands. That is worthless for helping Modern. I stand buy my statement.
New supplemental product with a bunch of reprints? Fetchlands are getting reprinted.
Dual lands are rotating out of Standard? Fetchlands are getting reprinted.
Nonbasic lands with basic land types? Fetchlands are getting reprinted.
New plane has a rainforest? Fetchlands are getting reprinted.
There's a card that lets you see the top of your library? Fetchlands are getting reprinted.
The day MTGS users are unable to find a reason for fetchlands to be reprinted in the next set is the day that Magic ends.
I honestly couldn't care less if the fetchlands were ever reprinted. I have all that I need, so I don't care if they suddenly become more accessible.
What I would be excited about in a return to Zendikar is more Eldrazi. I also liked Zendikar from a flavor and mechanics standpoint, too. Fetchland reprints ranks pretty low on the list of what I'm looking forward to about a return to Zendikar.
No fetches. Not in 2014 (fact), and not in 2015 (baseless speculation, but it's a fact that no one wants to own up to).
Keep waiting. Wizards will take your money when they are good and ready!
There is no proof that fetches won't be in Huey. I am hoping that they are not just because of Modern but also because they'd be interesting with scry (I didn't play back while M11 and Zendikar were legal together).
If this were true, I'd believe we would see Kamigawa with Tamiyo in Avacyn Restored and the legendary changes with Theros. The hints R&D are subtle enough to post mechanics, but not with planes.
Jturphy, just to clarify, what exactly IS the problem that needs to solved?
Edit: Personally, I hope that the fetch lands return in HUEY block. I want playing when fetches were in standard. And, since modern is currently my favorite format to play at the moment it would greatly increase my ability to build more decks while still managing my budget. Kiora's backstory lead me to believe that at the very least a return to is on the very near horizon. Will that lead to fetches being reprinted in the next block? Who knows.

Fetches can be printed in something other than a return to Zendikar. We also already know that Huey is a new plane.
I know. I wasn't tying the two together. I was just saying that a return to the plane of Zendikar is more of an inevitably sure thing within the next 2 or 3 blocks. Especially with the way they set up Kiora's backstory. I don't think that the fetches well be reprinted in Zendikar 2.0. I don't think that wizards wants to wait that long.

While we know that a return to Zen is likely, we really have no idea on the timeline. It could be 2-3 years. It could be 7+.
I think before we get fetches back we will go back to Dominaria but thats my opinion and we might get the original ones then unless they are in conspiracy ...
It's been an embarrassment for the Modern format since Day 1 that Misty Rainforest and co. are legal while the more color-pie harmonious fetchlands from Onslaught are effectively banned. It's as stupid as hosting a format that allows Tropical Island but bans Tundra. Even setting aside recent price spikes, this is something that's been on radar for three years. The fact that a Wizards rep stated that "[these things take time]" gives no indication either way of what's coming or when, since they have had more than enough time to recognize the pervasive allied/enemy color incongruity.
I wonder if they'll print the enemy-colors of the Mirage-tap-fetches. IMO those would better fit the slower format of standard, whereas the onslaught fetchlands fits a much faster environment. Personally I hope they'll print a modern-legal supplemental product that includes Onslaught-fetches and thus totally bypasses Standard.
On the other hand when Standard slows down the Fetchlands become increasingly worse as it's not always crucial to get an untapped land as you drop it. You may argue that Standard hasn't slowed down that much since Zendikar.
However the Mirage-fetches are basically worse than 3-color lands from Alara.

Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
Heck if Tibalt was popular does that mean we're going back to Innistrad? Shdn't it be the other way round? lol
