So now that we have seen the five prerelease rares that are distributed among the players, which color will you choose? Which color do you want to pair it with most? Which of the five rares is the outright best? Although there are still a lot of cards left to be spoiled, we can continue to make assumptions along the way an work with what we have seen. Feel free to comment and discuss your thoughts!
As for the prerelease, here is what I think about the five rares. Both the red an the blue card are good, but only in monocolored decks. The black, white and green seem better because chances are you will be playing a dual colored deck. I think it's down to black or green for me. Depending on the cards that are still left to be spoiled.
I like the white one and will be choosing white for prerelease. Evasion and lifegain can be devastating in Limited, and heroically pumping it with bestow creatures, auras and such just sounds like a winning strategy.
My brother picked white, and I didn't want to pick te same one as him (that's brothers for you) I think my best choice is black or green. White looks strong for the reasons mentioned above, and it tends to work well with each d the ther colors.
What do you guys think about a black/green deck? Removal and tough creatures? It really comes down to what you get, but I'm just speculating.
Iroas maybe* We don't know how the gods are distributed this time. They were color specific in BNG as well. Red could get Xenagod, Green could get Karametra, White could get Ephara, Blue Phenax, Black Mogis. So as far as we know right now Iroas, may not even be a possibility in the White seeded packs.
But they specify the gods to one color seeded pack then? So going black doesn't net you a chance for pharika and athreos and going red doesn't net you the chance for both iroas and keranos?
I think white definitely has the best promo for limited. The lifelink and flying is great and stack that on top of heroic in white, which is already the best heroic color. I think white, red, and green are the best limited bombs as far as promos. I love blue and black though and I really like blue's commons and uncommons revealed so far. As of now, I think I'm leaning white, blue, or red!

Correct- if it's like BNG, only one god has the potential to show up in each seeded pack.

When I look at the promos, I like to look at them as their worst case scenarios.
The white one is a 2/4 lifelinking flyer for 4. Which is really good and would be a high pick in most draft formats, theros included. The green one is a 4/4 that gets really, really, *really* big. Which isn't bad. THe Black one is a 4/6 for 5, which is certainly playable and perfectly fine. The blue one is a 6/6 for 7 that returns any creature with power 2 or less to their opponent's hands; which is "meh". The Red one is a 5/5 flyer for 7 that deals 2 damage to an opponent.
Granted, these are worst-case scenarios, so let's imagine what they *can* do. First, I don't like 7 mana creatures much in the format. It's just asking to get blown out. 7 mana isn't particularly difficult, particularly if in green as a secondary or primary, but it is a tall order. Which automatically moves the Blue and Red to the back of the list. The white one, being the cheapest, is probably the best. And boy is it good; any number of turn 5 bestowing gives you at minimum a 4/6 flying lifelinker, which is enough to attack into a Nessian Asp (Or the litmus test for turn 5 flyers). Adding more turns it into gravy. Few things were better than bestowing Hopeful Eidolon onto Wingsteed Rider, and this just has Eidolon's most immportant piece built in. Slapping any number of the cheaper effects onto it is just awesome. So it's top-notch.
Second is probably green, simply because it's reasonably costed and is a threat all on it's own. It's lack of evasion hurts it, but the fact that you can pump excess mana into getting a larger threat is huge.
Third for me is the Black one; sweeping away annoying chumpers the turn it comes into play, coupled with the possibility of doing more the turn after and leaving a wide-open field is tempting. Why bestow your Baleful Eidolons and other enchantment creatures when you can just wipe your opponent out. It also makes combat during your turn much better for you.
Fourth is blue, simply because getting 3-4 islands shouldn't be difficult by the time you cast it, and much of the creatures in the format aren't *that* big. Leaving you a 6/6 in the process.
Finally the red one, simply due to the damage dealt isn't going to be that great, and a 5/5 flyer on turn 7, that attacks turn 8, isn't that great in the format. The only way it's profitable is if you have almost solely mountains, which isn't something I'd expect to occur.
The comment above seems like a fairly decent analysis. I would probably put them in that exact order for playability as well. The white one will be a pain in the butt to fight if it gets even one enchantment. White blends well with most colors too. I fear red/white this prerelease...

Looking back at BNG,
each god shows up in the seeded pack for the color on the left side of the card frame.
If they continue this in JOU, it will be:
Athreos- White
Keranos- Blue
Pharika- Black
Iroas- Red
Kruphix - Green
If this is true I am definitely going white at the prerelease. Overall, white and black are my favorite of the promos. Given the amount of fun bestow effects in white I think it will have the one of the stronger chances in JOU than the others.

If what Empathogen said is true, then I almost definitely going blue at the prerelease, just because Keranos might be the most broken god in the set. His mana cost isn't that bad, especially since his ability is STRICTLY better than Dark Confidant's. However, the promo isn't the best, and white definitely seems strong in this format. Considering white, blue, and red.
Im going black on saturday and blue on sunday wanted to go red too but
Black is just dumb:
You get a removal for x/1 as your bomb rare and have like 5/6 chances to get other removal from the seded pack ( the fat demon is the only rare that isn t a kind of removal
In the uncommon slot we have great cards too ( brain margors , the non flying nightmare )
And good commons too
For blue its more of a control tempo strategy having real chances of stealing your opponent s treats is nice too or just a chance to make all yours litle dudes into 6/5 giants foxes with trample is nice to...
I hate it when Wizards makes it so easy to choose which color to pick for a prerelease.
White is completely sold out at one of my LGS' preregistration.
I honestly hate these gimmicks and prerelease rares. Sometimes, they aren't balanced between the colors and spoil limited play. In addition, they make gameplays much easier to predict, which ruins it for me. For e.g. If I know you're white, I might just save that Feast of Dreams to set up a 1-for-2 on your Charioteers.

The way the seeded packs were before you couldn't get any mythics in them aside from the gods. So I doubt Ajani will be in any of them.
Blue: Scourge of Fleets
Black: Doomwake Giant
Red: Spawn of Thraxes
Green: Heroes' Bane

I will always firmly stand by the belief that Magic is a game first and a collectable second.
