dunharrow-le-dingue asked:I really like the bestow Minotaur shown. Finally a reason to bestow an opponent's creature. I hope there are more of these.
There are.
So apparently we're getting more bestow cards with downsides. What others do you think we could see?
The most obvious ones are a red bestow creature with "attacks each turn if able" and a white one with "gets Defender". The blue one could have "prevent all damage dealt to and dealt by this creature" or "can only block creatures with flying". I'm not too sure what a green version could do. This isn't necessarily a cycle, though it could be.
Edit: For reference, the Bestow creature with a downside being mentioned is the black 1-drop minotaur, Gnarled Scarhide.
I don't know what minotaur with bestow is being mentioned. I followed the link but didn't see the card there.
It seems like it would be pretty cool. I'd like to see ones that do the opposite of what they are. Like a 2/2 black creature that bestows and gives a -2/-2. Or maybe a demon that makes you sacrifice a creature every turn, or gives the creature it bestows that ability.
But, when it becomes unattached from an opponent's creature, does it come back under your control or your opponents?

Whats the big deal about black lotus you ask? Well you see, there is no big deal about it. It IS the big deal.

Gnarled Scarhide B
Enchantment Creature - Minotaur
Bestow 3B (If you cast this card for its bestow cost, it's an Aura spell with enchant creature. It becomes a creature again if it's not attached to a creature.)
Ohhh. Ok. That makes sense. That doesn't seem like too much of a downside. +2/+1, but it can't block. Messes up some decent block meat and defenders and such, but otherwise i feel like that would just turn opponents creatures into beat-sticks.
I would like to see some bestow with pure downsides, like a -2/-2 or something of the sort.

In the strictest sense, yes, but when you weigh it with a +2/+1 it could really go either way, and personally i think it leans toward the better side, obviously depending on the creature it goes on.
It does go against what bestow has been so far, but i think with the right amount of flavor they could pull it off. Throw it on some kind of parasite or something.

Keep in mind that MaRo is implying that the other bestow with downside cards are modeled after the 1-drop minotaur, so what you're asking for is highly unlikely.
I understand it is. I wasn't really asking for any bestow cards that were bad for their host. Just i feel like it would be a pretty specific situation to use them in, because all bestow cards are modeled that they give the creature an attack bonus, and usually an ability. There aren't that abilities with drawbacks that are gonna fit on a card with bestow, so except for ones like can't block and defender to neutralize creatures we most likely won't see many at all.
Though they are good that way, just in case you do need to drop it on your creature, it won't totally end it's career.

I guess you were right. They seem kinda silly to me. But i mean, if it works!
