What is to be expected of the very last mythic to be spoiled? I have a feeling it may be a 5-color Sliver legend, but according to N&NC there isn't room for a multicolored card. Also there is only 2 mythics in blue and 2 in red, so would they leave one color short a mythic?
If there's no 5-color mythic Sliver in the core set for the 20th anniversary somebody really dropped the ball here. I suppose there's a chance there could be an artifact mythic Sliver with a 5 color activation or something, but if it's just some durdly red or blue spell....blech.

Look at my name...what did you expect?
Thank you WOTC for introducing the Modern format, a format where all the whiners can enjoy a level playing field and where they can play with none of the best cards of all time!

Not necessarily. There may be slivers in Theros similar to the ones on Shandalar (that is, neoslivers), leaving room for a 5-color sliver legend there. There's also the Fall Commander product that we have precious little info on, and a new Sliver card could easily have been slipped into that even if they don't want slivers on Theros.

Wizards kind of craps on Red all the time. They get less mythics than the other colors frequently.

Regarding Stoneforge Mystic

This guy, would either eat up several turns worth of mana to get a slow permanent that relies on your already have some board presence (after wasting said mana), or dies without generating any advantage.
Wizards kind of craps on Red all the time. They get less mythics than the other colors frequently.
Really? Let's check.
Dragon's Maze: Each guild got 1 Mythic so Red is the same as the rest. Except it got a walker in Ral Zarek, so it's actually ahead.
Gatecrash: 1 Red Mythic + 4 gold ones: Domri, Aurelia, Aurelia's Fury, Borbs. Same as every color, but it got a Planeswalker.
Return to Ravnica: 1 Red Mythic + 4 gold ones: Experiment, Niv-Mizzet, Rakdos, Rakdos's Return. Again same as every other color.
Avacyn Restored: 3 Red Mythics, plus Gisela. Black had only 2.
Dark Ascension: 3 Red Mythics total: the dragon, plus Huntmaster and Falkenrath. Green only had one plus Huntmaster, and Black is the only color that came ahead of Red, with 4 cards - but two are gold too, and this was Sorin's set so that is why Black had more.
Innistrad: 2 Red Mythics + Olivia. This was the fewest, true, but tied with White and Green. And Black and Blue only got 1 more because each had two gold legends (geist/grimgrin and olivia/grimgrin).
M13: 3 Red Mythics, plus Bolas. Blue and Black each had only 2, plus Bolas. Red was actually the color with the most Mythics here.
M12: 3 Red Mythics, same as every other color.
M11 and M10 indeed have only 2 Red mythics each, but one color always needs to lose one for the gold/artifacts to come in the Mythic slots. The other did too. So, in fact, Red isn't even close to having less Mythics than other colors, not in the last ~8 or so expansions.

They don't to repeat major mechanics across back to back blocks/core sets, and slivers aren't particularly Greek mythy besides.
But then they'll ban it from EDH, just like Worldfire. I still can't believe they printed this card in a core set and banned it less than a month (?) from the only format you could have fun with it.
Hopefully my Norin decks gets a new enchantment. Something that triggers off creatures entering the battlefield. That would be great.

Well because it's a seriously broken card in EDH.
As broken as biorhythm. I wouldn't call it fun at all, in fact I would refuse to play with you if you had worldfire and it was not banned.
Possibility storm is a bomb card, but it's not nearly as harsh because you can stall out or your opponent can come out on top much easier

Blue hasn't gotten a mythic spell/enchantment yet, which is something that we should be expecting in a core set. I have a feeling thats what will be coming. Something to do with playing things for free, drawing a ton of cards, or taking extra turns.
wont be indestructible because they would only do that if we didnt have the forge, so I will wager it will be a sliver that gives all your slivers an ability we havent seen maybe even a 5 color sliver lord?

"On top of that, if you ever manage to T2 Lead the Stampede, fill your hand, and pitch two Vengevines on your cleanup phase, the sky rains kittens wearing tophats, each carrying a sock full of quarters. True story."
When Elesh Norn's Prediction is put in the graveyard from your hand, you can pay 4UU. If you paid it, take an extra turn after this one then exile Elesh Norn's Prediction instead of put it in the graveyard.
If Elesh Norn's Prediction is countered, revealed the five top cards of your library. You may cast these cards without paying their mana costs. If a cost is X, X equal the number of cards in the opponent's hand.
I think I would just be dumb founded if the Return of Slivers didn't feature a mythic. I agree it would be a major ball drop. This wouldn't be if they were featured in maybe the next block, but I don't see Slivers in Theros.
Wizards kind of craps on Red all the time. They get less mythics than the other colors frequently.
That's a good thing, since red's mythics suck anyway. I keep wondering how many expensive chaotic enchantments they can make and they keep surprising me with a new one.

Why? In design they weren't supposed to be slivers. They were just supposed to have synergy without having to run all the colors (like humans). In the end, they decided that since they played so much like slivers, they would just make that the returning mechanic.

I could see a blue mythic sliver being really cool. Like.

I fear I won't have much time to play Magic these days.
I get to watch worlds develop around me.
I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.
I look forward to the stories I will hear.
And more so to the ones I will watch unfold first hand.
Isn't the unknown exciting?

Not only do they also amaze me with all the different variants, it amazes me that they haven't been able to make a decent one.
