The Forbidden Mechanic was almost certainly Garfield's "Gunk", similar to a cursing attack in Dominion: Shuffling useless/bad cards into the opponent's deck. It fits all the pieces of information that can be found regarding the FM.

GENERATION 7: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the generation. social experiment.
I doubt 'gunk' would be implemented in Gatecrash, though if it were, Orzhov would be a strong candidate for it.
One would argue against the physical nuisance it may present - control exchange taking place somewhere other than the battlefield... and especially in the deck.
But Wizards has done double-face-cards, so anything's possible.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
No, Orzhov is a business. No business would give away stuff for free. It's more likely Dimir will get something similar for mill cards, allowing you to put one of the milled cards into the owner's library. 3rd from the top would be fair, 2nd from the top would be powerful, and on the top is Jace.

Everyone knows that good luck and good game are such insincere terms that any man who does not connect his right hook with the offender's jaw on the very utterance of such a phrase is no man I would consider as such.
I doubt we'll see the forbidden mechanic any time soon, but this does indicate that if they ever find a way to make it work it'll probably either have to do with putting things in the opponent's library or exchanging control of things in zones other than the battlefield.

I'm not sure about gunk, it seems like something they couldn't try because it would require extra matching sleeves laying around (assuming sleeved decks) and it would require the use of actual gunk cards because unlike tokens they can't just be dice. You need to actually shuffle them.
Shame, the mechanic is neat. I just don't see how they could make it try to work.
Forbidden was the mechanic loosely (and I do mean very loosely) based on gunk - the mechanic Richard made for a deck he spellslung with at Worlds in Memphis.
