It's genius until the Phyrexians find a way to bend them to their will. And they WILL find a way. If they can find a way to do planar leaps, you can bet they'll figure out what makes the Eldrazi tick. It's just a matter of time, and it's what Phyrexians do.

Legendary Creature – Human Designer (MR)
Brian Tinsman, Set Designer can only be cast during the third set of a block.
When Brian Tinsman, Set Designer enters the battlefield, ignore all flavor and mechanics of the first two sets in the block. "Ok so what do we have here... gothic horror? Scrap it. Expand the Devine Vs. Demonic duel deck to 244 cards and print it!"

After reading 5 pages of this thread, besides being a slight confused, i want to see a Sealed product called DD: Phyrexia vs. Eldrazi. Will not that be cool?

Maybe using the "famous" Glistening Oil to infect Emrakul from a 15/15 to a 1/1 and stomp it under foot?
How does one infect an energy being with glistening oil?

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
I don't think that Phyrexia could get the Eldrazi. Honestly I feel like if the Eldrazi aren't bound and trapped then of they die they just sort of disperse back into the blind eternities and wait forever to regenerate and reform to consume again.
Darksteel Colossus was more or less invincible because of the metal alloy strength. The Eldrazi are different. I can't explain it. I don't know If they could be corrupted. They're just... Basically energy in form and function. I also feel like it would never happen simply for flavor reasons. If Phyrexia somehow gained control of the Eldrazi, not even Urza and the planeswalkers as we know it could stop them.
That doesn't mean I think the Eldrazi would eliminate the Phyrexians for good, though. Only clean a plane of them. We all know Phyrexia lives through everything... Haha.
But what if Sorin did the same plan over again and he trapped them on a plane with Phyrexia? That way they wipe out the Phyrexians on that plane and trap the Eldrazi with a food source? It's genius.
Sorin trapping them on a plane with Phyrexia? You sir are a genius!
I would love Zendikar to be reborn while the Phyrexians get gobbled up by giant manifested entities. NOM NOM
Also, just to clarify, when people write that the Eldrazi will spill over into other planes and that Nicol Bolas will see to this if it happens, does that mean the Eldrazi can planeswalk? Or would Nicol open a rift or portal to another world for them?
Eldrazi have always been able to "planeswalk", the hedrons are the only thing keeping them on Zendikar.
That would be impressive given that there are only 3 of them. And none of them are planeswalkers.
Are they not planeswalkers? Like I can see why they were printed as Legends in Rise of the eldrazi being tethered to the plane and all of that but like if they are natives of the blind eternities then surely they would have to have a way of getting into planes.
Eldrazi in their natural state definitely have the ability to planeswalk. Basically, the Eldrazi are like the Dark Side of the Force. It doesn't really matter if you kill the physical form, its just going to come back 20 years later in some terribly written excuse for a storyline
How so? Share your experiences about how terrible the duel was?
I was under the impression Eldrazis were in a physical state while on a plane. Correct me if im wrong.
They are confined to a physical shape on Zendikar, due to the nature of the trap that Sorin, Ugin, and the Lithomancer made. Everywhere else they would be mana eating energy beings.

You thought Zendikar's plot line was terrible? I thought it was pretty awesome. Usually in movies, books, stories, fiction, etc, the good guys try to keep the monsters out. In Zendikar, they tried to keep them trapped there to hold them back from the rest of the Multiverse. That is some heavy burden to put on a single plane, and Sorin was quite willing to sacrifice Zendikar. Not only were the Eldrazi similar to Cthulhu, but they can't die, only be trapped, which proves for a difficult time when fighting them. Okay, but beyond that: Another cool addition to the plot was the fact that the inhabitants of Zendikar believed that the Eldrazi were "good" gods that helped them in the past create the land and they worshipped them. How wrong were they? The thousands of years that past since the Eldrazi's last surge of escape was left only in very cryptic writing and nobody could really understand what the Eldrazi truly were.
I don't know what you're asking for out of a plot if you think that was lame. The only thing I really didn't like in Zendikar was the Level Up Mechanic. What is this, Yugioh? That was lame. As for the Eldrazi, which I find people tend to complain about a lot, I loved them. As for everything else on Zendikar, I loved that too. In my opinion, Landfall was one of the best mechanics ever created.
Eldrazi don't exactly "Planeswalk". Planeswalking means traveling from a physical plane to another through the Blind Eternities. Planeswalkers manage to survive the Blind Eternities thanks to a magical spark that protects their bodies and minds. Eldrazi's ability was to live entirely on the Blind Eternities and they were able to do this because they had no physical bodies before becoming bound to Zendikar (and their minds are "weird" enough to not go crazy in the BE).

The setup was good, but the endgame kinda broke down. (I.e. Zendikar and Worldwake was good, but there was no synergy in Rise of the Eldrazi).
Basically, Rise should have continued on the themes and keyword abilities of the previous two sets (Allies and Landfall in particular).

I know why we're returning to Ravnica when the guilds have been disbanded.
The guilds are still around, the lack of the guildpact doesn't mean the guilds themselves are disbanded, just that they aren't bound by rules (the novels also state another, physical guildpact was being written by Orzhov, who will probably be the "leaders" of New Ravnica)
-
The last we saw of Gideon he was leaving for Ravnica to seek help against the Eldrazi in Zendikar, I believe this is worth noting.

I don't think he'll get any help or Ravnica or worse, the Eldrazi follow him there and then he gets blamed for ruining everything/everyone.
If the store owner says that I can't trade in the premises, I'll just go outside. If he says that I can't trade within 10m of his premises, I'll go to 11 meters. If he says that he doesn't want to see me trading, I will put a basket over his head and continue trading.
Yes, he's a local legend. He's only known to take his clothes off before he goes into the Ladies' Lockerroom. Nobody knows what he does in there because he's invisible, but it's almost certainly tons of masturbating.
