Most of the planeswalkers who have been introduced since planeswalkers became a card type are humans, with only several exceptions: Ajani Goldmane (a leonin), Nissa Revane (an elf), Nicol Bolas (a dragon), Karn (a golem), and Kiora Atua (a merfolk). Therefore, I am hoping to see some other non-human planeswalkers at some point in the future.
For example, now that werewolves are an official type in Magic, will there be a planewalker who is a werewolf? If there is a vampire planeswalker (Sorin Markov), surely, there can be a werewolf planeswalker, as well?
Also, I would like to see a goblin planeswalker, as goblins have been a major race in Magic for a long time, now, and there currently is no goblin planeswalker in the game.
What does everyone else have to say on this subject? From what other species in Magic would you like to see a planeswalker?
I really doubt that Koth is a human, so add him to the non-human planeswalker list.
Hell, I think we have a pretty decent number of non-human walkers compared to humans actually.
? The Vulshok are humans... that's why they all have the "human" creature type. All races on MIrrodin adapted to the plane by growing metallic enhancements.
The issue is that many tribes are not conducive to having Walkers. Take vampires, for instance. Sorin is a vampire and used to be thought to be an exception to the rule that created beings could not be walkers (the exception to that currently is Karn). We found out that on Innistrad, vampires are not undead, it is more of a "spirtual" vampirism. So Sorin is, in fact, human. Zombie are un-doable in my opinion; you can twist vampirism to work, but that is off-limits. Werewolf would work, but Garuk Relentless is a sort of stand-in Werewolf. Angelic? Don't see how it would work, as all angels are created beings. Goblin seems like a very real possibility, and I think Dwarven if they ever actually bring them back into the fold. On the whole though, I think the ratio is pretty well set right now.
There was a demonic ex planeswalker in Zendikar that was a legend, however he lost his spark some how. So we do have confirmation that demon walkers do exist, therefore it is arguable that angelic ones are possible.

His name is Ob Nixilis, the Fallen, and I hope that he appears again in a later story and agree that his existence does support the argument that angels and demons can become planeswalkers.

I feel that the "angels being created beings" is a somewhat silly argument. When Wizards wants an angel planeswalker, they'll make a plane where angels are born rather than being created of mana. Problem solved. They've done crazier things.
This question may not be completely relevant to my previous questions, but what possibility is there that there may be a new and multi-colored version of Nissa in a future set? I have not read the stories where she appears, but I have heard that she, a native of Zendikar, once traveled to Lorwyn and met the elves there, and since the elves of Lorwyn tend to be aligned with green, white, and black, so I myself am hoping to see a multi-colored version of Nissa in some later set. What does everyone else say about that?

Correct. She's learned black mana spells. Do not be surprised if she comes back as a (B/G) walker. I wouldn't even say it's long off. Could be very soon.

I would very much like that, but I hope that she does not appear in the Innistrad block, as WotC has strongly emphasized how humans are the only major race on that plane to help it more strongly resemble classic horror stories. In a sense, Innistrad is the exact opposite of Lorwyn, which is one of the few planes in the Magic multiverse that has no humans.

She will most likely not appear in Innistrad, but (hopefully) within the next two years.

Yea that's him, good old Galactus was fun during a draft. At the very least it proves demons and might very point to the one demon in Avacyn set that Griselbrand shows up.

Ob Nixilis was an old walker who lost his spark after the mending. Old walkers could change into any form they wanted, and Ob chose to hang out as a demon. This is exactly the same as Serra. She was a planeswalker in angel form, but she was not an angel planeswalker.

Eh, that's pretty silly too in my opinion. What next? Should we expect a Tree of Redemption getting a spark, just because it COULD be written in if they REALLY wanted to do it? So yeah, if we have no reason to really believe it could happen except that "Wizards might run out of ideas," then that's not convincing in the least bit.
I swear, if Avacyn is a neowalker, I'm going to be so disappointed...

Yes. Pretty much all the neo-walkers we know of will show up as cards sooner or later. Gideon showed up a while after he was introduced in the novels. I am certain Kiora will show up eventually as well. Hopefully even in this block (seriously, the only thing she needs to have a reason to show up is giant aquatic beasts, which we have had confirmed exist on Innistrad).

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think Serra ever took angelic form. She had angels as her preferred servants, but that was about it.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).

They were going to do a werewolf planeswalker in Innistrad, but deiced to use Garruk instead.
We'll see more non-human planeswalkers in the future.

Where was that stated? I have read only a few Magic novels, so I am not entirely familiar with the various flavor and storyline aspects of the game.

Dwarves have totally been underutilized in MtG. They're like the ugly stepsister of Magic. Elves galore, but where are all the dwarves?
In fact, there should be a dwarven only block IMO. And a Dwarven planeswalker.

Given Nissa and, in due time, Kiora, it feels like our little red friends are getting shafted. I hope it's just a matter of time.
I really want Ajani Vengeant sleeves. And foil planeswalkers. Check my trade thread!

I do not see how almost 50% counts as several exceptions.

The color of the walker has nothing to do with what set their in. The flavor is the only thing that dictates that.
