Hi, i just got 4 Lord of the Unreal from a an intro pack and a few booster packs. So I was thinking about more illusions on ISD and DKS since WoTC gave us an Illusion lord.
There wil probably be a few of them, they fit with a classic horror block in my opinion. But don't expect a whole tribal theme for them.
Well, MaRo said there would be tribal stuff, but not a tribal theme, so I think pushing Illusions would be good. Besides, it gives blue a good creature race that is a lot more setting friendly rather than merfolk.
Illusions essentially has 3 lords (Lord of the Unreal, Adaptive Automaton, and the clone illusion - I forget) already. I think there might be a few illusions in Innistrad, for interblock synergy, but no more tribal support probably. I think Illusions are more of an M12 theme rather than an Inistrad theme.
I'd be shocked if there weren't illusions in Innistrad. Ghosts are generally illusion esque creatures and sometimes return from the grave. Usually core sets now reveal part of the next set following them i.e. steel overseer in M11, lord of the unreal and a bunch of illusions in M12 means there will most certainly be some tribal support for illusions.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."

our hints from the core set were vengeful pharaoh and all the rares that used the graveyard. they are probably just helping a fun tribe for casual groups.
If there is even a single playable illusion in ISD I will be satisfied.

The fun thing is, EVERYONE has 2 lords now (considering the tribe already has a lord). Illusions have 3 with Grand Architect. And there are 2 good "clones" on standard now, one is the illusion guy, the other can even be used in decks without blue, Phyrexian Metamorph.
I hope they don't make tribal too much of a focus in Inn, otherwise we'll be all forced to play with obvious decks

I think Merfolk could have been VERY setting-friendly, if played up to be somewhat monstrous like The Creature from the Black Lagoon.
As for Illusions, they make sense, as they harken back to The Invisible Man.
