SonofaBith - Wizards was so excited about making the packaging for Modern Masters 2 recyclable, they decided to make most of the rares and all but 1 of the UC's recycle-bin ready too. Convenient!
I'm guessing the last mythic will be a legendary artifact land. Why not?
Troll feed: Because artifact lands are completely unbalanced. And at mythic? Good people will be using their land as land destruction for the other legendary mythic land that shows up on the other side of the table. Silly!
Uh but yeah, I think we should be used to red getting the shaft in terms of the # of mythics. Just look at M11 and M10. Legendary mythic artifact land, here we come!
@ angelfromheaven - FAIL. Wurmcoil Engine. Already known. And it's the Prerelease promo too. Yeesh.
I'm sorry but how is this already known? It's definitively not a Wurmcoil Engine. Now it might just be promotional artwork, but who knows. Then again it is highly doubtful there'll be 2 mythic wurms, but just saying that he isn't necessarily wrong.
I thought he was talking about Wurmcoil Engine, my bad. But I'd be damned if that art is for a Mythic card. Seems like an enchantment, maybe a sorcery. There's too much emphasis on "let's fight together" to be about the Wurm itself, which is probably there only so this card shows a threat.
Goblins have become such a popular, fun, and increasingly competitive tribe that it would make sense from a number of perspectives. Plus, it would be nice to have a balanced yet powerful goblin lord.
Goblins have become this? Quite the opposite, really. They've lost a lot of luster over the years. Goblins was one of the best decks in standard a few years ago, and there's a reason Lackey and Recruiter were banned in extended.

I'm thinking maybe the last mythic could be Darksteel. There are 9 instances of Darksteel in the set. 7 of them are spoiled (Juggernaut has 3, Sentinel and Myr have 2) so that leaves 2 left.
i still like goblins despite Goblin Failboat (Warren Instigator) and I would love to see some redemption in the form of a mythic token generator (there are tokens) or some kind of aggro monkey like piledriver (a boy can dream)
that said i dont think what few goblin lovers remain will get a playable mythic that isnt artifact dependent
i really hope we do, cuz spikeshot, though cool, is not NEARLY enough to revive the coolest, oldest clan in the history of the game (elves dont count because they're lame):D

I bet it's Red and Green. What do you think the chances of the following are:
~ 2RG
Creature (M)
Haste
When you cast ~, reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a non-land card with converted mana cost less than ~. You may play this spell without paying its mana cost. Put all other revealed cards on the bottom of your library in a random order.

Too powerful?
Too weak I think. I think it would be:

Creature (M)
Haste
Whenever you cast a creature spell, if it was ~ or the second creature spell you cast this turn, reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a non-land card with converted mana cost less than ~. You may play this spell without paying its mana cost. Put all other revealed cards on the bottom of your library in a random order. If ~ is in your graveyard, you may return ~ from your graveyard to the battlefield.

I'm talking more in reference to competitive in Legacy, and I do not disagree with you when it comes down to Extended and Standard. I am looking back from 1994 when I started playing the game and when goblins did not perform as well as they do now in the game overall or at least in one format.

My guess to what it could be? A mythic rare myr that explodes.
Myr that explodes like Engineered Explosives would be interesting. Or, if it worked similar to Chimeric Mass and could have one attack and then explodes like EE at EoT - except the cc would have to be XX... This would probably be too powerful.

From what Doug Breyer said, I'm guessing it's a -1/-1 counter exploder.
Quote from Doug Beyer from Article "Myr Thee Well" »
Sometimes myr also blow up, spreading deadly sprays of necrogen everywhere. Again, this one might point the needle somewhere in the not-so-wholesome zone. And again, blame the Phyrexians for this particular death piñata.
If I had to seriously take a guess I would say it sacrifices itself and spreads -1/-1 counters and/or poison counters for some amount of mana like Tap, Pay X, Sacrifice ~. It's cc I guess would be around 4. It's P/T I guess is that it will have a high toughness, possibly low power.
EDIT: Artwork that went with the quote above from Doug Beyer's article: This.
I'd laugh my ass off if it was Steamflogger Boss!!
Really though, a Mythic Myr sounds about right considering all the love they are getting this set. Do we know how many counts of legendary we have in the orb and how many are taken? Seems like most of the legends are rare this set but you never know.

I lol'd. But since there's a goblin token, a mythic goblin lordish guy would make sense. New seige-gang anyone?
Isn't there usually some enchantment mythic that showcases a keyword in the set? Maelstrom Nexus, Cast Through Time or is that reserved for the last set of the block?

Thank you WOTC for introducing the Modern format, a format where all the whiners can enjoy a level playing field and where they can play with none of the best cards of all time!

Darksteel Axe would be the last one I think.
Fair enough, I didn't realize I forgot to put that in.
As for the last mythic, My chances are going for another artifact, maybe even a Myr...
Its artifact #171 and got some treatment from wizards already
