If God spoke to you, and commanded you to kill your own children, would you do it?
If your answer is "No," then your morality does not come from God's commandments.
If your answer is "Yes," then please, please reconsider.
Probably something ridiculous like "when CARDNAME enters the battlefield, you lose 6 life" or "whenever CARDNAME deals combat damage to a player, you lose that much life". Xathrid Demon is hard enough to play so it will be interesting to see exactly what this demon's drawback is. I'm also thinking this will be a dud in limited, which is unfortunate given the power of the shrouded sphinx.
Maybe it's the English teacher in me (or the Bostonian), but that word "wicked" is curious here. Sure, black creatures tend to be bad, vile, wicked, but does anyone think that the choice of adjective here might be portentious?

That's true, MaRo did go to college in Boston, IIRC.
What about "Landfall: Put two -1/-1 counters on THIS DEMON"? That would be an interesting twist on the mechanic.
well, you hit my theory right here. I was thinking a negative landfall. But, that would fall into the Landshort mechanic he talked about in one of his articles, and i dont think they'd do it. but maybe for one card it could be in there.

I'm pretty sure it will have a disadvantage that is somewhat mitigated by having more lands or playing more lands, not one that is reliant on you playing more lands. Rosewater talked about how they disliked mechanical submissions that were based on not making land drops, and this is both that as well as a 6/6 flyer for 4 mana with no real forced disadvantage.

If it is just lose 6 life, I think it would see play. Even if you lose the same amount of life, it should see play as a burn deck really only wants to get the opponent low as fast as possible. One hit would go a long way, especially against control. I think I would definitely try out either of those designs in constructed. Come to think of it, it could set your life total to 10? possibility if the orb allows.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
Meaning it is basically unplayable in Limited where 6/6 flyers are bombs. Too bad.

Maybe the drawback of giving your opponent a baneslayer angel token :\
Would a 6/6 Flying Negator be worth it?

I want to believe there will finally be a playable demon.
Edit: Wait a minute, that turns all your lands into edicts. Nevermind

In what world is a 6/6 for 4 on the curve for black?
Also, my guess "wicked" seems more like a really cool drawback instead of a really bad one.
What would be a far amount?
