So we got some amazing new art in today. I can't help but think this could be another legendary angel. Iona has six wings, and was the "Shield of Emeria". This angel also has six wings, and is holding a very intimidating-looking sword. Perhaps we're getting the "Sword of Emeria"? The art certianly suggests that she is a legendary card, as well as her being used as art on sleeves/deckboxes.

_______ of the chosen color…
(made up name, for speculation's sake... can you tell by my sig that I'm kinda excited? lol)
It's understandable blue control players would be shocked and in denial at the notion of this card, since their decks have been dominating multiple formats for an eternity yet they've curiously never once had to deal with any counter-hosers that weren't ineffectual, narrow CRAP.
Well she doesn't have a halo at all :p. I'm thinking that is actually pretty important to the storyline...

There are two types of people in this world: people who think that countermagic is the most powerful effect in the game and people who aren't morons.
My color is Purple. I value diversity, smashed color pies and obsolete Inquest articles. At my best, I can redefine MTG in a new and wonderful way. At my worst, I can end up as an Unhinged joke. My symbol is not defined. My enemies are 5 old and bureaucratic angry colors.

That is sweet art, and as awesome as that ability is I don't know if she'd see play outside of Hypergenesis decks. The ability to lock out a color is awesome.

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.

well... bad news... as already pointed out Iona doesn't have the halo, and all the angels on the plane have 6 wings...
And Iona is about 40 feet tall, there is nothing to indicate this angel is more then normal height (about 6 feet) and the candles in the art would indicate normal size... not really definitive, but if the new art was also for a giant angel you would think there wold be something to indicate that.
(look at the Iona wall paper, to the right of her is a guy on one of those pieces of rock... if he is close to her then she is 40 feet tall, if he is far away (closer to the 'camera') then she could be much... much taller.)

It's probably just the "Admonition Angel", as posted earlier. The one spoiled on a french page that has Landfall - Exile target permanent. When ~ leaves the battlefield, return that card to the battlefield under its owner's control.
Did anyone notice that on the deck box with the same art, on the right side of the box in the stained glass window is the Emaria Angel Game-Day Promo art?
In the Fatpack art thread in the rumor mill, this angel is now art featured on one of three booster packs. Jace, and another legendary promo art (from the pack on Zendikar hint cards) are the other two.
Also, this angel's size means little, they could easily be different. The shield of Emeria (Iona) might need to to large; defensive. This one has a big sword.

Confirmation bias clouds your judgment.
Sphinx of the Steel Wind and Enigma Sphinx weren't legendary creatures, but they were featured on sleeves for Alara Reborn. Angels are iconic; this Admonition Angel will be one of the iconic "Timmy" cards of the set, just like Sphinx of the Steel Wind was to Reborn. You're reading into it only so far as it approves your theory.
Remember during Zendikar rumour season when there were a lot of people who were sure that Sarkhan Vol was in ZEN because the Vampire Lacerator art looks vaguely like him and was on a booster pack? Generalizations only go so far.

You're right, I think that's what I'm doing.
Well, here's to hoping it's a legendary creature, despite any evidence to the contrary. I don't want another Slave of Bolas to ruin perfectly good artwork.

Wait, you do know that that would make you simply not want to face the truth, since you didn't "dig any deeper", right?
Also, Vampire Lacerator was featured alongside Sorin and Nissa as booster art. And it's a common.

Well, there isn't any hard evidence suggesting either way. There's no soild information showing that it's a Legend, and there isn't anything suggesting it's not, either. How can we dig for more at this point? All we know, is that there is a card from Worldwake that has the speculated Landfall ability that's also an angel. This may, or may not be that card. I'm hoping it's not.
There were three angels in Zendikar, and only one was a Legend. Since we have literally nothing pointing us in one direction over the other, I am hoping (with bias in one direction of course) that this Angel is a counterpart to Iona, or at least Legendary.

Awesome art BTW.
Iona doesn't. o.o
Uh, yes she does?
I actually can't really tell. My bad, though.

Seriously though, it'd be a nice mirror to include a Sword of Emeria. After that, all we'd need is a helm.
