I’ve never seen this art before, so I don’t know if this is existing art or not… But if it is new it might be a good indication of a Nimbus Maze-cycle being printed in Alara…
Even though the art has been confirmed as island, I think that the art of nimbus maze could definitely fit in alara. The only problem is that each color has an equal splash on both sides, so :/
Don't the Nimbus Maze lands function exactly like the Cairns lands though?
Actually no. They function more along the lines of River of Tears, except instead of playing a land per turn if you need the color, you just need a certain land type to produce the opposite color.

Yeah but you still need a basic land of the opposite color to have it be worth something.
except that the cairn lands can function on nonbasic lands whereas nimbus maze requires basic lands. It reminds me of reflecting pool

I think that we may see lands laid out more like Murmuring Bosk -- a Primary and 2 secondaries at a cost of some sort.
The major problem with this though is the fact that while it may seem a plus that you could splash two other colors, what if the other colors you had in mind had nothing to do with one of them and was a waste? I mean, for example, Bob wants to run a Black/White deck... and he'd have a land that produced that and Blue, but Blue would be a primary rather than a secondary. Granted, after 10th, Shadowmoor, & Eventide we have more than enough land to assist in this purpose, it would still pose a nuisance.
At least, this is only in theory. People probably wouldn't have a problem with running a tri-colored land even if they weren't going to use one of the colors. We'll just have to wait and see though.
If we do see Dual-Colored lands I'm also assuming they'll probably end up like Nimbus Maze.

there is enough color fixing, i hope we dont get any multi-color lands. the only cards that are going to have 3 colors are the mythic rares, and there not ment to be easy to cast

Current Fallen Angel (Anson Maddocks art) Count:449!!!
Who said it was Block? Which is why I specified earlier than there are other lands, but I was just illustrating a point.
You seem to misinterpret the fact that I am not pointing currently to the present or past (I was but only in example) but to the future, which is why I made adequate notes upon my previous statements. I.E., "this is only theory" -- as in there is no set proof or foundation upon which I do build my sentiments, just mere speculation.

Theres 50 some multicolors, in a set with a consciously pushed tri-color pairings...who says?
There will be mana fixing, Block is going to need it.
