Wait, how could you unassemble a contraption? This punch out idea may not be so great after all. Nothing like a card you can only use once. Of course, they did this with orb of confetti and the black lotus redo.
you just take the contraption apart and place the pieces back into the inset of the stat card, remaking the original rigger.
think of the card as a frame with an inset you can take out and still have the outside and the back of the card...
Unassembled! I can totally see that as a real name. Sorry Unscrewed :P.
Contraptions would be perfect for Unassembled, and the best time for WotC to be like "Oh, umm, we meant they'd never be printed in tourney-legal sets." I don't think that would really piss off anyone.
And it still fits with the FS theme of possible alternate realities. Imagine a world of Un-Sets being the tourney standard instead of the rest of the "normal" MTG world.
And because Steamflogger is a timeshifted card, it would work perfectly.
CONTRAPTIONS FOR UNASSEMBLED!!!
hmm, that sounds grammatically weird.

Assemble 2: Put a contraption token named Acme Land Mine into play. (To assemble, tap Riggers equal to the Assemble cost). This token has "Sacrifice this contraption: deal 3 damage to target attacking creature". Tok knew he was in trouble when they handed him the 'testing hammer'...
I would say there is a 99% chance that Assembling and Contraptions will be referenced in the next Un-set (which they have already promised will someday come out), and will be made mechanically useful unless they are planning on doing it in a real set eventually.
Naming the set after it I don't know, but it's a funny idea.
I'm so tickled to see *yet another* interesting contraption thread.
Love it. Some good ideas. I look forward to seeing the forehead-vein-popping guys chime in with their "please god make them stop talking about contraptions, can't we all just analyze top 8 lists" remarks.
