This is also more of an opinion, but what elements from the futureshifted cards would you want to see print? After all, that's what the futureshifted cards are about, isn't it? That is, to see what everyone thinks of an idea before it gets printed. Here are my ideas.
1. The goblin steampunk block. Look at it this way: I highly doubt Wizards would print anything that is permanently useless. (Tarmogoyf has other card types to munch on, for example) Goblins of the Flarg was printed when there were only 3 different Dwarf cards in existance, and none were in The Dark.
2. Lifelink, shroud, reach. All of these deserve keywording. Even though reach is a bit different than the usual I think that it works well enough. Continuing on this, I think all the new rules that were added to Gatherer (retroactive keywording, errata for the Tribal type) will stay.
3. Delve. I suspect this might show up in an underground-themed block. Aside from North American, Central American, Waterworld, and Skyworld, underground is the way to go. Something like the Underdark in D&D but God forbid and smite WotC with the fire of a thousand suns if there is so much as a hint of drow elves... just say "no."
4. I suspect Boldwyr Intimidator is from Lorwyn, and that it will probably be a tribal block. Anyone notice the increase in Rebels lately? (Same thing, albeit in reverse, for Kamigawan Spirits and Ravnica Spirits.) Why do the vaguely Celtic name and the new wealth of Rebels somehow make me think of Braveheart...?

Do I Contradict Myself? Very Well Then I Contradict Myself.
I think that a few of the lands are likely to see partners. Particularly Nimbus Maze and Graven Cairn, they're good, not too good and don't have a limitation on the useful colour combinations like River of Tears and aren't kind of stupid in multiples like Horizon Canopy.
I can see Imperiosaur being part of a cycle, either vertical in green, or in different types across all colours. But I'm not completly convinced.
I feel that Spellweaver Volute may well become something... But I have no idea what.
Goldmeadow Lookout is spot on. I practically guarantee that Goldmeadow Harrier will appear somewhere in Lorwyn as a 1/1 for W with W,:symtap::Tap target creature.
Patrician's Scorn is too weak in effect not to have partners that push the boundaries in future. Probably in a couple of blocks time or more when we don't have suspend, pacts and Storm all available to make more free spells dangerous in Standard.

Than and then are very different words.
"I'm going to have more than Natalie Portman" is quite different from "I'm going to have more, then Natalie Portman".
Tarmogoyf, or at least its implications (we all know what those implications are, don't pretend you don't. Hey! You at the back! You're not pretending you don't, are you?). It's one thing to print something you wouldn't print in the future. It's quite another to out and out lie in reminder text. I don't think they'd do that, even as a gimmick.
Fleshwrither is the only card in existance with the very unexplored and very reprintable Transfigure keyword. You better believe it's coming back.
Goldmeadow Harrier is the number one card that's going to see print. If there are 80 red herrings in Future Sight's timeshifted set, Goldmeadow Lookout is the one real deal.
It should be pointed out that Future Sight has a more abstract approach to timeshifted than Time Spiral or Planar Chaos. Goldmeadow Lookout isn't a preprint, it's a reference to a card that hasn't been printed yet. I think the slivers also fall under this category, for example. But they can't all be like that because some of them are so basic that anything they might represent would really just be a functional reprint (like the lands).
Steamflogger Boss is the card equivalent of MaRo announcing Unhinged on April Fools Day. Or possibly making a followup article the day after. At any rate, half the community ferverently believes it (and Tarmogoyfy implications) will come again some day, and the other halve ferverently believes it won't. What's more, this was clearly the effect they were trying to achieve with this card. What group do I fall under? Wouldn't you like to know.
Well i have my foil steamflogger ready to go if he ever does become useful. If assembling contraptions ever becomes a real mechanic then steamflogger will be a pretty broken card it seems.
card]Goblins of the Flarg[/card] was printed when there were only 3 different Dwarf cards in existance, and none were in The Dark.
yeah but they did not really think everything out back then. the dark also had white bounce and direct damage, black damage prevention, blue discard ect ect

Current Fallen Angel (Anson Maddocks art) Count:449!!!
goldmeadow lookout/mistmeadow skulk seems like they belong in a tribal block, possibly along with boldwyn intimidator,as mentioned above...are they going to make kithkin a tribal representative of white now?*ponders*
yeah but they did not really think everything out back then. the dark also had white bounce and direct damage, black damage prevention, blue discard ect ect
There's clearly a difference between disobeying arbitrary restrictions one has imposed on oneself and making an ability with limited or no usage. In fact, those aren't even remotely similar!
There's clearly a difference between disobeying arbitrary restrictions one has imposed on oneself and making an ability with limited or no usage. In fact, those aren't even remotely similar!
Yeah, but they did quite a bit of the latter back in the day, too. *cough* Shelkin Brownie *cough*
That being said, I think that Wizards did know what they were doing. Don't forget, The Dark was followed by the dwarf-filled Fallen Empires.
I kinda recall reading that Delve was probably never coming back because its very difficult to design and/or develop delve cards (Issues on balancing them I think). As for whats is not a red herring? Tribal and Planeswalker. They actually modfied the Gatherer to accomodate 2 card types. Everything else, no way to know.
Poisonous is almost surely a red herring. Poison was horrific because creatures with poison had to have power lower than the poison counters they assigned or else they'd just kill the opponent outright. To make matters worse, as worded creatures with Poisonous have to deal combat damage to assign poison counters, meaning the issue can't be worked around
Delve, Trasfigure, MOrph on non-creatures, Contraptions, probably poison, and a lot of newly keyworded things will return, although they would have anway
He also wanted to kill Steamflogger Boss's contraption text.
Yeah, we're not seeing him again.
It wasnt completely ruled out. Also the reason he hated it was because right now it didnt do anything and he doesnt like cards that have rule text that have no bearing on the game as is.
Upon looking into that more I think steamflogger boss could be getting some help soon to make his rules text make sense.
another thing he said in the article was about planewalker which apparently had a card at one point so it could possibly come back in the future

From MaRo
Every rarity gets good cards. That means that some mythic rares will be tournament quality as will some commons, some uncommons and some rares. My promise wasn't that mythic rares wouldn't get good cards but that we wouldn't limit the good cards to only being mythic rare.
Bear this in mind the next time a powerful mythic rare is spoiled
Thanks to chaostheory90 for finding this quiz for me
Well both Maro and Matt hinted, well Maro said while Matt hinted that poison is probably real... that said, I like how things are going, being a poison fan and all =D
Yeah, but they did quite a bit of the latter back in the day, too. *cough* Shelkin Brownie *cough*
That has usage. The fact that bands with other is unplayable doesn't mean that the card is theoretically useless. It just means that it, too, is unplayable.
Actually that might be even more fun than a serious GoblinSteampunk block. I can see some sort of tribe-wide M.C. Escher thing going on... the Incredible Machine anyone?

Do I Contradict Myself? Very Well Then I Contradict Myself.
I KNOW!!!
Steamflogger boss could preview contraptions and assembly that would appear in the thirs Un set!!! That would rock!
The sheer brilliance of this comes from the fact that having rigger assemble contraptions in the un-set is only made funny because of steamflogger boss.
I can even see maro pulling something along these lines in un-3:
... and nothing further. Sort of a double teaser: now you can actually do it, but you have no idea just quite what it's doing. It seems to have synergy with the boss, but you're not sure. I personally think that would be great un-material.
I think the Flogger Boss, since it's getting so much attention, and since it is pretty much useless right now, will be part of a real set. But ya know, since tehre was the planeswalker travel guide, I'd think I can count out a few as if or as definite nots. Nactl War-Pride a not, because evn they said, if they did a central american block the names would be too hard to do. Yixlid Jailer too much a weird leather fetish for more than one card.
From Imperiosaur and Muraganda Petroglyphs we may get to see a prehistoric block, like I one time suggested. Hopefully there are kavu on that plane.
And a hint of Lumithread Fieldhints at possible visit.
I'm sorry, it has to be part of something bigger, it just is so much of a tease with what contraptions are, that it has to be something. It just has to be.
A new creature type and a new ability, I'm sorry it is so odd that it just screams that it is real.
