I previously posted this speculation in the compiled info on accident (I'm new here don't flame me )
But anyway, I was looking at the artwork on one of the booster packs and I noticed a distinct resemblance to an old friend that we all knew and love (well some of us anyway) Check it out for yourself.
I know you're new here, so no hard feelings, but this should be in speculation. And my opinion is that the card art is too black for Dakkon, who is three colors. But it's possible.
EDIT: First Post! W00T!
It does look very similar, but the look of that art makes it look more like an instant or sorcery than a creature. Most likely a bounce spell, something blue by the swirlyness of it.
End useful part of post
Or it could even be a blue removal spell (Pure speculation here) something like:
Suffocate 1UU
Instant
Target creature can't breath. If it's a creature that would normally require breathing, it dies at end of turn.
Yep. Definitely that.
EDIT: wow it took me three minutes to type that? I wanted to be first (Also agreed on this being in speculation.)
I just thought it interesting that its the same sword, perhaps the new guy will be a black legend sporting the last name Blackblade. A descendant if you will :].
Dam I posted it in the wrong spot again? lol... once I find my way around It won't happen again.
I wouldn't mind seeing descendants of Legends in Future Sight... that would make for some interesting new cards with an old flavor, yet still grasping the Future.
In the other thread (I believe the one about new sleeves and portfolios) art for a card called "Linessa Zephyr" is sporting the exact staff held by Alexi, Zephyr Mage. I'm sure there is going to be a cycle of cards with weapons held by legends in the past.
I just realized. Mycoloth perfectly demonstrates the devour mechanic.
Mycoloth: NOMNOMNOM on Dragon Fodder.
One turn later, 1/1 turds come out.

btw i did it because i could. i was bored and decided to let my little med-free spree go ahead. I am bipolar, explaining all the drama that ensued after. I have problems.

ahhh that would explain it me thinks... I dun actually think Dakkon will be back... cos it would have to be done in TS
I think the decendents with the same weapon is the most likely situation here.
I wouldn't be suprised if you were right. alexi, zephyr mage, linessa zephyr. both have the same stick, maybe same trick. Also, same name part ((zephyr)duh).

No one think that Dakkon himself will be back, rather people expect that there will be a group of legend who have weaponry held by a legend from a past set. This blend the past fell of Time Spiral Block with the feeling of the futrue in Future Sight. (Decendant = Future; Weapon = Past)
I think this was mentioned in another thread somewhere in the Rumor Will and some of the peculation was Multani's staff. (As seen in such cards as Multani's Decree and Multani's Harmony)
legendary descendants would be a great way to portray the future in the block, so I'd reckon that this is what it is. Either an entire Blackblade Clan, or something with that namesake.
Um I thought that Alexi was Barrin's wife and Hanna's mother, and all of them died without a little descendant running across planes or dominaria. so It doesn't fit me lynessa as a descendant of Alexi
I'm pretty sure that Rayne was Barrin's wife, and if I'm right thne there could be little copies of Alexi running around creating havoc.
Elspeth "we must fight to protect order and justice!"
Tezzeret "No! he will break all my artifacts and stomp my head!"
Vol "powerful dragon must be brought to heel!"
Ajani "**** this Im outta *planeswalks to lorwyn* wow what hell is this place?"
Little lorwyn goblin "this be the place of bad art and Tribes!!!"
All other Alara planeswalkers "hey where did ajani go???"
The person in the full image looks rather dead. And rather keldon.
It actually doesn't look Keldon at all it's just that picture came out shortly after the article that said there would be a Keldon in Future Sight art so everyone instantly linked the two.

I think you nailed it Grandeneko. The three colors in the new art fit into the coloration of blue white and black and I believe it fits perfectly into the way Sword of Fire and Ice used color to suggest the equipements "alignment". I think we are definatly looking at Dakkon's Blackblade.
I would imagine it's ability would go beyond his +1/+1 for each land you control though, perhaps embracing the suggested colors such as sword of fire and ice and light and shadow.

Thats quite an upgrade in armor if it is him, the original has a sheild, helm and sholder pads, the new art is full on armored to the core. Wouldn't surprise me to see it as an equipment.
No, I think what we have here is a red aligned barbarian warrior. He is the focus of the art; his armour is red tinged and in a barbarian style with horns; most importantly, he is engaging in a chaotic and bloody battle, and appears to be rather enjoying it.
Of course, red creatures have a history of 'black-bladedness'...

Tetsuo Umezawa is a Descendant of Toshiro Umezawa, so maybe he'll make a re-appearance or possibly another Umezawa? I think it's quite possible since they timeshifted Nicol Bolas, who was killed by Tetsuo.

Dakkon's Blackblade 6
Legendary Artifact- Equipment
Equiped creature gets +X/+X where X is the number of lands you control.
Equip 3
Probably a really bad guess and not a very good card really but just my 2 cents worth.
Of course, red creatures have a history of 'black-bladedness'...
Keldon Warlord
Maraxus of Keld
Battle Squadron
Although it typically revolves around creatures, there is a little precedent for other stuff.
