I believe that image is on the front of the Mono White Time Spiral pre-con. But I could be wrong on that fact. However, it is definately Time Spiral.

When I was young, the smallest trick of light,
Could catch my eye,
Then life was new and every new day,
I thought that I could fly.
I believed in what I hoped for,
And I hoped for things unseen,
I had wings and dreams could soar,
I just don't feel like flying anymore.
According to the Article, the author of this art piece is Scott M. Fisher. I really like his style.

"You know that a conjurer gets no credit once he has explained his trick; and if I show you too much of my method of working, you will come to the conclusion that I am a very ordinary individual after all." - Sherlock Holmes
My money's on the first Legend to be reprinted ever........Akroma! She won the "Favorite Legend Vote" Wizards did not too long ago. I doubt it was a coincidence. I'm really like the artwork too; a very detailed piece.
I've never seen a beaten up angel before. Props to Mr. Fischer.
I love how he does highly artistic background designs and almost no one else does.

Attack one beating chicken of 4 cards, then erase 3 minus from your battleax. Never in your main phase will you do a 4 cards risen, but McDonald of 2 to the punish-bin. Again, beat softly to the end.
Plenty of cards have seen reprint with different artwork. Besides, it seems as though the art in recent sets has been given a more "realistic" feel. But it's only a guess......Okay it maybe more along the lines of wishful thinking, but ya never know......

Akroma had white feathers, not brown.
Pretty interesting picture, i like the background alot, it's pretty abstract and cool.
EDIT: hey, she does kinda look like exaulted angel, reprint maybe?

True, but no legend has ever been reprinted. If a legend is reprinted, they should, and probably would, keep the same apperance.

Yeah, but it's a Legend. It still has to represent, in some sense, the same person. This painting is almost as unlike Akroma as a mono-white Magic angel can be -- simple and revealing clothes instead of thick jeweled armor; dark feathery wings instead of stylized white ones; etc.
I call Akroma. I don't quite remember if Karona got broken back apart, but I would venture a guess it is a redo of Akroma- Tattered, beaten, worn. Her armor, broken, replaced with cloth. Her sword long since broken, new one in poor shape. Wings dirtied from years of existance.
Remember, when she was created, she was freshly made of ixidors mind. He made her perfect. Without him to keep that perfect image, and without her having her own inherent divine power (she herself has no inherent divine powers: made of ixidors mind, he made her as close to a true angel as he could. But he is in no way capable of producing a 'true', divine angel), It is very believable to think that she just wore down over time.

I think you mean "PoN", but it seems to me that "PwN" is more appropriate
(the 'w' stands for 'win', I think)

I think that WoTC felt that a lot of the players thought Standard was becoming mundane and a joke from all the nuked cards floating around. R&D took a vacation, and MaRo just started reprinting things.
amazing teaser art from wizards, good call on using scott fischer to do this. I'm hoping its an entirely new angel (you can never have too many angels I always say), but an exalted angel would definitely be welcome

This is a picture that was at the bottom of the new Saturday article by Scott Johns. It looks to maybe be from Time Spiral.

Kinfd of grainy but it's the one on the left. Beautiful!
It's only been recently that he started using decorative shapes and motifs in his art. Like on Savra, Queen of the Golgari and Time Stop and Telling Time (and slightly on Pristine Angel as well.
I approve
Definitly the pic on the left booster
Doesn't look anything like Akroma, though.
Man, she's got abs. And thighs. Whooo.
Attached is an earlier-posted TS booster, next to this art.

The sword does look like it's cracking. Although even then the jagged edges can still really hurt something
She's also got her hand bound to her sword with bandages...
Besides the art, I'm intrigued by these errata reversals. Hurray for return of degenerate free-spells combos! (in casual at least...)
Here's to hoping it's an Exalted Angel reprint!

Mabye it's made from Swiss cheese and the holes are from bubbles of Nitrogen gas.
Here's to hoping it's an Exalted Angel reprint!
Of course, the artwork might suggest the far less stellar reprint of Tormented Angel, what with all the bandages and all.
