I was thinking, and what will with the Hybrid cards of late? Think they'll continue it after Ravnica? They're an interesting enough concept, but personally I don't think they'll be continued. I think they're a much too set-specific concept.
yes, and i remember MaRo saying it in one of his articles, i can't recall which one, but it regaurded the design of RAV block and hybrid calls. he said that he would have used the guild symbol to represent the mana cost of hybrid cards, but decided for the split symbol mana((U/B)) to allow for it to be used in future blocks.
Sure, stuff like Snapping Drake and Goblin Piker are for limited. But Null isn't even playable against a 5 year old whose hand consists of a 6 of Clubs, Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Chimney Imp, and a very large cumquat.
These are what I'm talking about. All of the instances of these mana symbols on new cards. I apologize if that's what you're talking about too, I'm just making sure we're on the same subject.
[EDIT] I'm talking to Warmonger with that statement, just to clear that up too.
Yeah, I don't see any reason they wouldn't be continued any more than multicolor cards wouldn't be continued, or having the mana symbols in an ability like ':symtap:: Add :1mana::symg: to your mana pool'.
EDIT: There's so many fun hybrid costs we haven't seen so far... here's a few I thought of.
:symw:: Does a cool effect in two colors fairly easily, but doesn't lend itself well to three color decks.
:symbw:: A 2 color card in two combinations! Casted like cake in a 3 color deck.
Yes. Hybrid mana is Ravnica contribution to magic like equipment, indestructible, and defender of past blocks.

I voted "Other" because the poll says "continued" which I think is a bad term. It implies that hybrids will appear in some kind of unbroken chain. I'm fairly certain they won't. They will, however, reappear. Without any question. They are far too quirky to be passed up in the future. How long is hard to say. The last great quirky innovation took 6 blocks to reappear (split cards, and BTW Unhinged does not count in terms of quirk). I hope it's not that long (although I hoped the same for split cards) yet current trends would indicate that hybrid will probably not make another return until multicolor becomes a prominant theme (hell, multicolor barely has a presence when it's not a prominant theme).

When I said continued I meant continued. I didn't mean anything else. I didn't ask if it was going to reappear in a few random sets... that one's obvious. I was asking if it was going to be continued. That's all I asked.

Well then no. The poll question implies this, but your post doesn't ("Think they'll make it out of Ravnica?" Well, yes, they will. Just not into Time Spiral). You could have made it clearer, is all.
Yes, i am sure Hybrid cards will be in future sets because there is still so much to be done with them. Hybrid cards allow them to go back and mess with the color pie in ways that they did before revamping it... and I am still hoping for a Tim functional reprint :P.
Spirits are natural type of creatures. They had to print many of them not to turn out to be idiots - as Kamigawa's mechanic is totally unplayable beyond T2.

Someday all lands will be controlled by all players and all creatures will be equal.
They will continue. How long until the next hybrids? Probabaly not right away, i'd guess. Although there will most likely be gold cards in the next big set in the fall to help bridge the gap between block designs, so there might also be a cycle, one of each color combination, of hybrids in that set at either uncommon or rare. (Note that even without the current useage of block design, Odyssey had 11 gold cards overflowing from Inv block.) Hybrid cards fill a different niche than both regular gold cards and monocolored cards. Hybrids will not continue in as high of numbers as in Rav block, but they will definitely continue because they are a very unique design tool that opens up new possibilites for card design. Who knows, Just as Rav was the new Gold block, we may one day have a Hybrid block.

It's still a little bit of a stretch for black since no draining is involved, but it should be fine since it isn't adding anything new for black (just taking it away :P)

Like Giant Solifuge
you can play it in mono red or mono green or g/r
rather than print a purely red or purely green or gold card, a hybrid card can be all of those things at once.
For that reason, I think they will use it more (for characteristics that are "shared" among colours)

When Cycling first appeared, it was always 2. Then it showed up again in Onslaught as not only colored mana cycling, but even Landcycling.
Affinity was originally just for artifacts. Then, in the same block, they decided to put Affinity for land types.
Now we have the example of split cards. They were once mono-colored halves, but are now multicolored each.
It only makes sense that Hybrid will make a return with a twist, and seeing something like sounds like the ideal way to do it.
Good luck making a decent card that can be played as GGW and WWB.

My two cents, wording sightly off because of targeting and rules stuff but meh...you get the idea.

Hybrid will be like Gold Cards. They'll probably dry up for a block or two and come back.
