1UR- Deal 3 damage to target creature or player and look at the top 4 cards of your library you put them back on top or bottom of your library in any order. Instant
there are a couple of 3 mana 3 damage spells for three and adding blue gives the library manipulation of blue a little better then sage owl or index
If this is legitimate, B/R will have some nice control-cards, even if this becomes a sorcery. Now hope for an extra word on the card: Replicate
Not going to happen for several reasons:
1) There is only one burn spell with replicate, likely called "seige of towers"
2) There is only one gold card with replicate, likely "mimeofacture"
3) This is almost definitely the guild "power uncommon", which never have the guild keyword

Allowing this card to hit both creatures and players is what makes it overpowered, imo.
but I still wouldn't be surprised if we end up getting a card like that or very similar.
Well that is the entire spirit of this thread, not your information.
Because regardless of how false or offbase this information may be, there is probably going to be a spell like that we are discussing.
2 Powerful and playable bolt effects in block?
I would hope not.
It is bad enough that block constructed decks are running 4 Overgrown Tombs and 4 Sacred Foundrys just to run 4 Lightning Helix and 4 Putrefys.....

The crazy thing to understand is that we've still got the Orzhov "power uncommon", plus the last 3 Guild's power-uncommons. With all 10 of them, is it almost possibly to make just a crazy destroy-everything deck? I mean, maindeck putrefys, that could side into Mortifies, etc. Wreak Havoc just because it's mean, while tossing Helix's and IzzetBolts at the opponent's dome copied via IzzetGuildMage, then finishing them with Char's. If you want creatures, run Watchwolf and Moroii as they are pretty powerful for their costs. Uncommon beats, what a way to win. Don't even need but the rare Char to finish your opponent.
I mean, as it stands, we know they are going to make something. Considering that they can do something powerful, we can also believe that they may end up making it weaker than we are all hoping. I mean, another Prophetic Bolt won't suffice, because that's not what people want to see (although bolt is good, it's not great either for its cost.)
1UR Seems fair enough for an instant cantripping Bolt, because mostly, you're getting Incenerate + Reach through Mists. That's pretty good, even if they had the whole "a creature dealt damage by this can't regenerate" (but wotc said they are taking away the whole 'can't regenerate' part because it's pointless to design creatures w/regeneration when all the kill spells just kill them without regeneration. Which sounds stupid to me, because regeneration is more for combat-damage, not a Lightnign Bolt to the face.)

It's actually quite good.
You will almost NEVER sacrifice 3 lands, so offing a random creature and drawing 3 cards for 3 life at INSTANT speed is something I would expect to see in Constructed. Hell, I'd run Junktroller just to provide a target.
All throughout this thread I've noticed the word "or" being used in almost every example of this speculated/rumored card. In my opinion, Helix's life gain and 3 damage to any target is not equally comparable to say....
Izzet Bolt
:symu::symr: or :1mana::symu::symr:
Instant - (U)
Deal 3 damage to target creature or player.
Draw a card.
Some seem to feel that if they printed Helix, then this is a guaranteed 2 converted mana cost also. The above card is more than likely not going to exist at only :symu::symr: for what's listed above. You can offer up comparison after comparison to previously released cards, but I'll eat my words if they print it at a converted mana cost of 2. Life gain is not par with card draw in any form. If the card drops at :symu::symr: then it's going to most likely deal 3 damage to target creature ONLY or target player ONLY. Thus, Hleix gets the "or" since life gain < card draw and Izzet Bolt gets the "Draw a card" since card draw > life gain. This just an opinion and how I would see the card be printed if it's true. I would also safely assume that if said card is printed at :symu::symr:, then it's got sorcery written all over it. So to conclude...
5% :symu::symr: - instant - 3 to creature or player and draw a card.
15%:symu::symr: - sorcery - 3 to creature or player and draw a card.
20%:1mana::symu::symr: - instant - 3 to creature only or player only and draw a card.
25%:1mana::symu::symr: - sorcery - 3 to creature only or player only and draw a card.
35%:symu::symr: - sorcery - 3 to creature only or player only and draw a card.
And as always, I could be totally wrong on this. If I am, then Guildpact could be much pretty scary.
Forgive me if I am wrong here but...the key term is POWER UNCOMMON. The only other thing that this guild could offer as a power uncommon would be Suffocating Blast. While Life Gain < Draw.....Putrefy, Lightning Helix, Mortify, and Morii (To a lesser extent) are all really good. I don't think that making it RU instant speed would be all that bad. How else would they explain the "Mage Guild" having an overcosted casting cost? No matter what they print it at though...It will find its way into almost every deck the same way Lightning Helix did.
**Yes this is my first post but I have been reading this site for a long time and have been playing magic for even longer.**
Same here..
In fact nobody believe that lightning helix was going to be printed until wizards actually revealed it.
IMO drawing a card and taking down a creature at the same time seems abit overpowered.
But hell wizards have been redefining magic lately and thats why here ... anything goes.
Mortify is actually fairly strong IMO.. because it is never a dead card...unless something strange is happening...
Maybe something like 1RU
