If they make the new duals legendary, then that pretty much sucks since youre gonna have to rely on fetch lands to grab em and if you have a playset in your deck, you can only play one at a time and that sucks if you get 2-3-4 of them at your opening hand without any other lands CIPT sucks also since youre trying to get an advantage at your opponent not wait and get owned the next turn. Which is why CIPT invasion lands were so much hated when reprinted in 8th.

i think this card is Freakin' awesome just imagine zoo with this even on the draw u flex "Nutz" any mana drawing the extra card u can pitch and turning up the gas on tempo and it still taps for mana easily a 3 of most likely a 4 of
Can somebody translate that please?

Hang on, I need my gibber-to-english dictionary. Ah yes, here it is,
If they are in fact adding these duals...does that maybe also hint towards reprinting of Fetchlands in 9th? I mean if they do they have a chance to create a completely new standard. You will be able to play basically ANY color combonation. They have never done anything like this before (on purpose...original duals don't count). I think if they do this, RAV will be a very entertaining block.

Land - Plains Island
Regulate 2 (You may have a maximum of 1 copy of this card in your deck)
TAP: Add W or U to your mana pool.
Rare
I had an idea like this one for cards. Nothing in particular but a card that restricts itself in all formats would give the ability to giving more powerful cards in a block with out breaking them.

Am I the only person who thinks that the commnet, "that will make legacy players happy" means that the lands will NOT be as good as duals, thus not deflating the value of the duals?
They obviously can't reprint duals, but what if they did a functional reprint? It would make the vintage players angry, not happy, because they have the duals already and it would make the value of them drop.
So I think saying that they won't reprint something because it's not something vintage players would use doesn't make sense.

That's an interesting take, but as a player, what would make you happier? 1) Gaining more playable cards or 2) Gaining less playable or unplayable cards.

Although I didn't fully understand your argument, functional reprints are not allowed under the reprint policy. Adding a new name is insignificant.

Reserved cards will never be printed again in a functionally identical form. A card is considered functionally identical to another card if it has the same card type, subtypes, abilities, mana cost, power, and toughness.
Tetsumoto, i had never thought of a mechanic regulating number of copies, but the way you said the mechanic sounds good. Personally out of all the possible takes on the new dual lands, yours seems to be the most powerful and useful, because just as the originals their downside is not bad at all.
GinnerBen: coooooool, haha just like the rats that were printed in 5th dawn haha, i dont think that they would print anything w/ more than 4, but less than 4 seems to be acceptable...
NOte: i dont think it would have to be a key worded mechanic, but its a cool concept
