I know we have now proof on this, but hey, this is Speculation, right?
Anyway, what do you think of it? It gives a chance to showcase new legends, old legends that weren't shown (Terashi, Sharp-Ear), and whatever happened to the world of Kamigawa after the Kami War. Plus, the thought of it is irresistible.
I agree, but the problem is that you could say something very similar, from a different angle, about every set. There's always some characters that didn't have as much time in the spotlight as others. But the thing is, they were minor characters and that's what happens. Minor characters don't get the attention the major characters get, and it doesn't make much sense to ask for WotC to revist the plane just to give those characters a chance to be a major part of a story.

pearl-ear, sharp-ear, captain silverfoot, lady silk-eyes they had some big parts especially pearl-ear. you notice i did all kitsune but the kitsune had a big part in the novels. I would rather have seen pearl-ear than some one like masako. with all these cards not being reprinted tey might

Kamigawa is a narrow world. It is much more likely they'll be revisiting Dominaria.
True, but they said in an ask WotC about that and they said Dominaria is a mess after the Rath, the Sliver, and Korona. Though OLS were really good books... the world is like half a splode.
i don't think we need to revisit kamigawa anytime soon. playing with lots of legends was kind of neat, but the spirit arcane stuff is just cute for limited and block. i would prefer to keep seeing new landscapes

It could be an interesting story line. After the Kami war, the world is left in shambles and the tenuous alliances between the races start to crumble. In particular the blame is placed on the humans because Konda was the one who instigated the war. The plane falls into a racial war, each of the races fighting eachother or teaming up to fight the humans. With the relations between humans and kami restored to the norm, the races return to using Kami magics and calling on spirits to aid them. So we could see nonspirits with spiritcraft triggers. Tribes would be very important, including probably human, which would be interesting as a tribe they have not delved into yet. There would be a lot more Kami like the patrons, with close ties to the non-spirit races, though not quite as destructively.

If they do come back to Kamigawa, it won't just be because they can. They're going to need a good reason. I don't think that Kamigawa has been a particularly popular setting (of course, I don't have numbers to back that up) so I think that WotC will be happy to move on to different planes.
If they do come back to Kamigawa, I hope that they do two things - first, that they hire a well-known Japanese author to write the story ahead of time. Second, that they hire a single Japanese artist or art studio to illustrate all of the cards for the block. Third, that they give these creators visible credit for the year's product. I love Japanese fantasy (Miyazaki's stuff is amazing), but having a bunch of white boys do all the flavor is a recipe for disingenuousness. Hence, why I didn't like Kamigawa the first time around. A concept like Kamigawa needs a singular vision to guide it.

People do like the setting and the storyline from the Kamigawa block. People however do not like the underpowered cards WotC is using to represent that block.

While I can appreciate your feelings about a unified art style for a set or a block, I think that would end up being a disservice to Magic. From early on, one of the things I liked the most about Magic is that it had a lot of variety in all its aspects, including and especially art. I remembering opening Stasis in a pack early in my Magic career, and that card really leaped out at me - not because of what it did, but because the art style of Fay Jones was drastically different than the handful of other card art styles I'd seen at the time. Another artist whose style I really enjoy is Amy Weber, but I wouldn't want her to illustrate an entire set. (I wish they'd bring her back for a card or two at least.) There are several artists in Magic whose styles I really like, but I think that having a good variety of styles - even those I don't personally care for - is healthier than having a single artist or art style.
More on topic, I'll be glad when Kamigawa block is over. I could care less if I never see another legendary card. The flavor of the block is nice and I think WotC had a lot of good material for it. However, I just don't think they made the best use of that material. I wouldn't mind revisiting Kamigawa at some point as long as it was executed very differently next time. On the other hand, I think this block was meant largely for casual players and it seems they like it. I'm not a particularly casual player so that may be why I'm less than satisfied with it.

I don't see why people don't like abstract artists like Drew Tucker, Fay Jones, and Harold McNeil to list a few. Being able to guess what's going on makes the art more mysterious and exciting. Having something presented to you up front is alright, but sometimes the majesty and mystery makes it that much more mystical and interesting.

While Kamigawa did have some interesting aspects to it, it's not enough to warrant my spending a few hundred dollars on a box or two for a handful of cards that will probably drop in value as they mature on the market. Champions was alright; it had enough to make you pick up a few packs of that in one sitting. Betrayers was a complete let down; I call it the freak child of the block. Other than the Jitte, Ink-Eyes, and some of the other Ninjutsu creatures (which I thought were brilliant), Betrayers is like the Prophecy of Kamigawa so far. Saviours, on the other hand, might be the saving grave that Kamigawa needed in order to maintain its presence on the tournament scene for all formats.
Pithing Needle (sounds like Pissing Needle with a lisp) is already gaining steam as a popular chase card, more along the lines of the Exalted Angel and Decree of Justice of its respective set. Plus a handful of other nice cards on all rarities makes it worth more than Champions and Betrayers combined as a whole. I might go and buy saviours merely for the fact that yes, it has a lot of rehashes, but they are quite powerful and still useful nonetheless.
Overall, I'm glad Kamigawa is done but it has a bit of sentimental importance to me too...which is probably why I'll keep buying it merely for that aspect. Yes, lame...but I'm allowed to do so!
IMO the one artist that I really think would've fitted in the whole kamigawa artwork scheme was Richard Kane Ferguson coz I mean seriously, just look at the guy's artwork. To this day, he's till my favorite artist even though MTG fired him
