This has been mentioned in other threads (and debunked) but I thought it was a shame that Betrayers didn't get a demon spirit that had Ogre Offering.
Its perfectly in flavor for the oni/ogre tribe, and as crappy of a mechanic as it is, it could still use a little bit of extra mileage.
Then again, maybe Wizards considers Bloodspeaker to fill this particular creative slot.
I think Offering will probably be the "double strike" of Kamigawa. Modular spread to one other set so that doesn't mean it's gone for good. I wouldn't be surprised if they make a Spirit Offering or a Demon offering just to help with the flavour of the different races in the game and stuff.

I don't know...I'd say that offering was more of a set specific mechanic....but I do agree that there should have been an ogre or demon offering card. But of course they seemed to only want to make one for each color, so I guess that's what their reasoning was for omitting those creature types. I guess with that in mind we may see the ogre and demon ones in Saviors.
I don't think that another Offering will happen..it seemed obvious that they were just specifically held to the primary 'Race' for each color. I imagine that Saviors will have one Ninja, like 5th Dawn had one Modular card..but I truly don't see any more Offerings getting printed.
And Grinningdemon, I Don't think your namesake was that playable anyway But, no worries, Yawgmoth Demon in 9th is a house of a card.
The lone modular guy in 5th dawn, was there, I think, only because of the natural, er, affinity, between sunburst & modular. How often HAVE second set mechanics bled into the third set? I doubt we'll see another offering... unless it's a Spirit offering.

"You know that a conjurer gets no credit once he has explained his trick; and if I show you too much of my method of working, you will come to the conclusion that I am a very ordinary individual after all." - Sherlock Holmes
I'm thinking just like Modular gave one creature from the next set a boost, I think we may see one "Patron of the Kami" that has a :symw::symu::symb::symr::symg: cost and a Spirit Offering to it that can possibly combo with Soulshift. Or maybe it only have the primary Spirit colors to it, namely :symw::symb::symg: With a decent twist to it, it could be pretty nice.
And Demon, I usually have my disagreements with people when I say that in Limited, Seizan is very much playable. (Yes, they draw more, but so do you, and in a fourty card deck, those draws can hurt as much as the life problem, while you are swinging with a big beat down demon. If you have a way to deal with their initial draw, which is most likely land in the land heavy fourty card decks of Limited, you are ok.)

In regards to everyone pointing out that second set mechanics rarely (if ever) bleed over: I agree completely. If this were any other block, I wouldn't have even bothered creating this thread. *grin*
But Kamigawa's a bit weird like that. It had a second set mechanic from a differant block bleed over (Indestructible) as well as countless other broken rules (I believe I almost flamed the guy who brought us Godo, 8.5 Tails, etc because so many of the abilities seemed completely out of color.) all done for the sake of flavor.
And who knows, maybe theres a new mechanic that interacts well with offering?

the only card that arcbound (modular) moved with was a sunburst card. and WoTC kind of stated that they only did that once because sunburst and modular go good together

Asking people to remove quotes in their signatures is tyranny! If I can't say something just because someone's feelings are hurt then no one would ever be able to say anything! Political correctness is stupid.
