Ideally, the Shoals should work using each color's "specialty". Blue is for countering. Red is damage. Green is creature pump, etc.. But since WOTC already gave Red creature pump, it's quite difficult to speculate what Green's shoal will be. For White, it could be life gain (looking at the beacons and the pulses in mirrodin block). And For Black, it could be tutoring (like the bringer) or reanimation (like the beacon).

Prevent the next X damage divided however you like to any number or target creatures or players. Put a +0/+1 counter for each damage prevented to a creature this way.

Eh im leaning towards the skeletal scrying and Reanimation ones, if there were a THIRD reanimator... then yes, reanimation would be NICE. With shallow grave variant and that bad reanimator, and this, there would easily be a deck type.
And white i See this as being the most playable white card really:

Well giving that the black and white one as meant to be very powerful I've been thinking about what they can be.
Black I can really only see being mutilate or skeletal scrying as discard woul;d be WAY too powerful and targeted kill wouldn't. I suppose it could be a consume spirit effect.
White was trickier but I imagine/hope it will be

A free drain life would be pretty harsh. Remove Hypnox win teh game?
Maybe the White Shoal will have an Astral Slide kind of effect. A simple "Remove from the game" effect could be really broken, but if they return? Perhaps with counters, like Otherwordly Journey.
and what if the white shoal is something like the white decree? a token maker? (flying ones in this case)
instead of the traditional life gaining?
cause the "removal" spell is already in the set.. and IMHO wizards won't create many masive removals per set (i mean.. there's also the myojin.. they're over using white's weeping ability)

Reciprocate is pretty much the most-playable uncommon in CHK, behind maybe Ghostly Prison, and it's EASILY a top-15 card from the set. So they weren't that far off.

That green one was, while not techincally declared fake, was ruled "far to ridonkulous to be real." I'd really like a beacon-style card "put x 1/1 colorless spirit tokens into play" but that could also be quite powerful. Perhaps "put a +1/+1 counter on each of X creatures" would be fair. As for black, the best versions I've heard are the search and the mini-deathcloud. As for white, I have no idea. Exise seems like one of the most probable (remove target attacking creature from the game unless its controller pays X).

well... I like the armageddon. What's in white's flavor for Kamigawa. We have seen temporarily removing creatures. Blocking while tapped. Vigilance. Bushido.

I could see the white one with an rfg effect, but it would probably be temporary even though I would love to see it with a permanent rfg effect I think that would be too powerful.
I also hope that the black one would be an x damage, x life gain spell, but I could also see it as a reanimator spell either of which would probably make reanimator a very viable deck for T2, but maybe a little too good. Turn 2 Pitch a creature to the yard for x damage& gain x life then reanimate it back with that 2 mana spell and attack with a fat creature.... probably not gonna happen, but I can hope right?
i played in a tournament on fridcay. i played affintiy to a sedond place finish. vial lis broken i wonws many games son th3e poever oif it.
Unless i am mistaken Oxidize, V Shaman and E Witness are showing up in just as many decks and warping the metagame as much as Affinity. They should just ban all of Mirrodin block. Onslaught was always the best block ever. I had a U/W Cleric wizard deck that couldnt be beat.
If the black one were a tutor... that would be amazing. I could play a no land belcher deck then cuz then I could just tutor out the belcher on turn one and ritual it into play. Course it would be restricted like on one's business. Hehe. The green one would be pretty broken if it said "Add X mana of any color to your mana pool. Lose X life."

White could be sort of like a Parallax Wave you're right. I think that'd be pretty good too. Especially with Eternal Witness in constructed.

Course the Green one couldn't be Channel I guess. It's technically not as good as channel if you pay X mana... but it's almost strictly better if you can just remove a green card.

darn! i was really hoping black would be a playable tutor. -x/-x to one creature is very disappointing. i dont think we needed MORE single creature removal. its nice to get it for free, but it should have been all creatures. or if thats too powerful, then maybe have a limit. up to 3 creatures get -x/-x or somehting. white will more than likely be some stupid prevent damage one:banghead: I really believed it would be something really good after what was printed in inquest, but after seeing the black one....i have no hope. maybe the green one will be good then:smile01: probably artifact kill...
