He'll be like a 2/2 for 1W and have first strike or something (ideally) with some dumb flip clause
and then on the back, all three of his abilities are self-buffs
That Nissa is pretty good. The fact that she only gets forests may limit her playability, but THAT is a midrange card. 2/2 with guaranteed land drop? Sounds like my kind of card. Late game she turns into a planeswalker with a CA and a token ability for free. Sounds really good.
The basic forest deal is a major drawback admittingly, as 3 color won't want to run many basic forests and fetchlands already limit you. Still, keep your eye on mythic borderland ranger with late game.
Jace is the card that is finally going to make Ojutai's Command a thing. An in-color two drop that is not just good early in the game, but very good late in the game, especially when he's coming into play EoT.
.... I really dont see either of these being that good. Like if there is a ramp deck then nissa could be good but outside of that useless and jace just seems... underwhelming. So far only lili seems interesing.

SonofaBith - Wizards was so excited about making the packaging for Modern Masters 2 recyclable, they decided to make most of the rares and all but 1 of the UC's recycle-bin ready too. Convenient!
Nissa has pretty great abilities once flipped but flipping her will be quite the challenge for many decks. Still I could see something like Abzan running her in Standard, at worst she ensures a land drop early game, and late game she just runs away with things. After rotation though, who knows. If Eldrazi ramp is back in some form she could potentially be great.
The big downside for modern, besides the fact they all die to bolt on their dude side, is they also die to Abrupt Decay when flipped. Remember, transformed is CMC = 0.
That being said, I think Chandra is okay. Attack, cast a spell, ping opponent, and then poke them for 2 - 5 damage from 1 card isn't hard when the barrier is attack with a dude and cast a spell. Jace is pretty dangerous for opponents. They have to kill it, otherwise the jump from 0/2 to 5 (actually 6) loyalty is nuts. Remember this is only 2 mana. Even if they throw away a bolt, it isn't that bad. Additionally, someone feel free to correct me, but if you activate his loot ability in response to a bolt with 5 cards total on resolution, he should transform, and then be bolted. If you loot and they bolt in response in the same scenario, he just dies. I think.
Also, RE: Nissa, yes the hill is huge to climb to transform for 7 lands. However, her ability is an actual draw 1 as a +1, or land directly into play. The ultimate is just win the game probably. This is the sort of planeswalker that has potential to be insane good in the right environment for a rather low investment.

If you did it in response the bolt fizzles, due to it's self exile and becoming a "new" permanent.

Nissa could fit well into a ramp deck with Explosive Vegetations. She draws you a land, and on turn 5 you should make your 7th land drop. Earlier if you have an Elvish Mystic or something.
Jace is interesting. I hope they reprint Satyr Wayfinder. Being able to flip him on turn 3 in standard will make/break him. He could fit well into a Bant/Sultai Control shell.
Kiora's +1 is better, but she is much more fragile. Jace comes down with 5 loyalty. He will pair very well with delve spells.
Jace and Liliana are going to be expensive, I think, since you can play 4 with no drawback. They are very easy to flip, and you would be able to have creature and planeswalker in play at the same time. Chandra could also be a 4 of, but I am less sure. Nissa is the only one of the 4 that is clearly a 1 or 2 of. In multiples, basic lands are better in the early game.

I actually thought that afterwards. Either way, it isn't complete downside. Hitting 5 in the yard isn't exactly hard in modern. Or any format these days.
i like the foil on these a lot/ i dont really care for nissa mostly the land rerquirement maybe itll draw hate which isnt a bad thing. the filter on nissa is really nice though, chandra is likely a little more work to set up and personally not a lot of return and thus red pws suck as usual. jace is interesting im interested to see what it can do in modern or legacy. it fits an aether vial curve very well and with fetches and everything else going in modern and legacy could be very easy to flip but i feel like it has to be vialed or flashed in though likely itll be used as a snapcaster mage which also cost 2 and has flash and it has way more use hitting instants anytime instead of during your turn. overall these pws feel very balanced as they are auctually incredibly hard to flip and still keep around
EDIT 5 cards in a graveyard is better used by tasigur lets be honest

They are not mutually exclusive. Flip Jace, then cast Tasigur. They actually both fuel each other.

im aware and honestly might be a decent control deck maybe esper with narset setting up tasigur a little bit the rebound and flashback would also be nice. play liliana baiting jace or a threat like tasigur esper best friends sounds good. heres to hoping gideon is a beast
Jace's ultimate is laughably bad. One of the worst ultimates of all time for a planeswalker? I had to read it multiple times to make sure I wasn't misreading.
Nissa seems like she'd be really good in EDH. In EDH she's basically mono green getting Phyrexian Arena in the command zone.
Well Magic Origins has crushed my dreams... My dream of a playable Nissa in eternal formats has now vanished. The Jace isn't even good. Wizards, print stuff people actually want please.

Jace flips and makes something smaller or flashback. most likely flash back. Narset pairs well with tasigur so you can filter the top card if its a land and you have 1 thing in your graveyard you would want to activate tasigur. see something worthwhile with something bad in your graveyard you draw it. also jace sets up a super cheap tasigur by needing 5 cards in your graveyard. later jace helps tasigur and narset helps as well so i see esper best friends being a thing everything works so well together. also liliana and sorin im sold
I sincerely hope the reason this Nissa is so poor compared to Worldwaker (and even Revane, I mean at least that card had good Elf synergies) is that they want to make her BFZ card stand out, and so they don't want people being conflicted on which Nissa to run. No way that's the reason but I want to dream that Nissa has a brighter future.

The Chandra ended up being real, interesting. If there is a good burn deck in STD she'll be part of it and good burn decks are awesome
Nissa seems clunky
Seems pretty powerful.
Are you serious? Borderland Ranger saw tons of Constructed play, and this is a Borderland Ranger with an absolutely massive upside.
