Narset -2, Monastery Mentor, Ojutai's Command, Jeskai Charm, Lightning Strike, End Hostilities, Dig Through Time, the synergy is so great... I already made a deck
I had to look at narsets loyalty twice. she costs four and starts and 6, which will go up to 7 anyway? thats nuts. As has been said, her first ability is much like domri, I guess it could be good in the right deck. Her -2 is my favourite however. Rebounding temporal trespass for two extra turns or tc for 6 cards is no joke. neither is a 8 damage stoke the flames. the emblem however is very meh, I'd wished her ultimate would be a little more game-ending and less dependant on your opponents deck.
scaleguard sentinels look very promising as well. two green devotion for 2 plus a potential 3/4 seem powerful enough for constructed.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
It's less exciting, but it's also pretty tactically useful to use that ability with a sweeper, so that you don't immediately fall behind on the board again (as well as cleaning up Bestowed creatures and the like).
Anyone have any idea how difficult Narset will be able to obtain? She's so awesome I nearly dropped my coffee when I saw her as a UW Planeswalker with that amazing art. 4 CMC for 6 Loyalty and a great +1? Going right into my Ephara EDH. Hope she's not like $50+ Though....
It annoys me to no end that everything in Narset's story SCREAMS UR. Her insatiable thirst for knowledge, the inability to stand still, and the blatant disregard for staying out of forbidden areas are all red traits.
Why the hell is she UW, the color combo with the most structure?
Her discipline to not giving into running away and seeking Ojutai's approval blatantly overshadows any red impulsiveness. She remains loyal to Ojutai in the end, but we'll see where it goes and why he didn't punish her for what she did. (My guess is Taigam manufactures a reason for her expulsion from University Ojutai Tarkir).
That's a very small part of the overall story, though. Even while she's under his direct tutelage, she has a burning desire to become better. The whole story it's I CAN'T STAY HERE! I MUST LEARN MORE! GOTTA RUN!
Then she just suddenly stops? That's like an Olympic sprinter suddenly losing a leg.
I understand that there's white in her, but she seems more UR. She should have been Jeskai colors.

She is nowhere near $50 good.
Depending on how things go, and the next block. I could DEFINITELY see her reaching near $50 in standard. After she rotates out I'm fairly sure she'll be at the $20 mark for quite a while.

Probably because he understands her desire to learn and gain enlightenment, and he sensed that even after she learned the truth that she was at peace. In essence, she is a kindred spirit, and respects her.
I get that, with the white element being shown in her self-discipline of not giving in to her emotions, but she still has very strong emotional urges and does give in to some of them. The story still portrays her as having a very present red element to her character, even if it's less emphasized. At the very least, this new story doesn't portray her as any less red than her KTK story. It wouldn't bother me that she was UW if her new story reflected that, but I do agree that it's still portraying a very UWR character, not a UW one.
Still, sweet card, so that's nice. The rebound is nice for jeskai and heroic decks, but I'm not sure it goes well with UW control, if only because it forces you into casting spells at sorcery speed. Adding rebound to a dig through time, though, could basically just win the game for a control deck. Ojutai's command is ok, but better for tempo than control. Here's hoping the UB command is good so we can get some good ol' esper control back in standard
New narset is like domri rade but a million times better and domri rade was a very high quality walker. She's less limited than domri in that she can draw walkers, instants, sorceries, enchantments, and artifacts. She is ridiculous with courser just like domri and better still with scrylands. The rebound ability is pretty nice to have and can allow some neat lines of play whether it's just double stoke the flames or going deep with temporal trespass in a superfriends type of shell.

That's how I feel, although neither was Jace, Architect of Thought (IMO) and he topped that. PWs are always inflated in price for some reason. Glad I only need one regardless.

The way they set her story up, we could in fact see a potential UWR version of her. Also, the desire to learn is a shared U and R trait, separated by how they do it. She does it the U way instead of the R way.
Narset looks VERY strong and the artwork is great. If she isn't going to see a lot of standard play, I'll print out this post and eat the paper.
I'll definitely be playing a control deck with her in it.
I'm not sure if she's strong enough for modern, though. Maybe 4 cmc is just too much for a walker that doesn't immediately impact the board. We'll see.

I see $30 to start since nobody seems to know how to judge these things in the Post Mind Sculptor world AND
Then, she'll drop to $7 by the time she rotates out of standard. She's missing a lot of things that make planeswalkers valuable even if people don't see it now. The ONLY things she has going for her inflated value are 1) 3rd sets are always under printed compared to 1st, and 2) fans already like the character.
I would love if that really was Scroll Rack. Need one of those for EDH too. But it's only new border printing is the foil promo so I'd love a more accessible version that doesn't need to be foil.

I think Taigam is just mistaken. He sees Narset in the forbidden archives, and knows that Ojutai went to see Narset and then she disappeared. The conclusion he draws is reasonable, and possibly a bit of wishful thinking given his dislike of Narset.

wahoo love the salamander and the evolving wilds looks really nice.
Dragonlord's servent, salt road ambushers and foe razer dragon all look pretty nice.
just a question, does foe razer dragon get 2 counters automatically if it fights upon etb?
if so it just became an awesome dragon in the cycle
i am wondering if we get the dragon regents cycle as our promo rare at prerelease.
