First come the goblins. Hordes of them. But soon the ramp produced by xenagos attracts monstrous token-producing hydras. Towering over the battlefield, these 12-headed killing machines are protected 2 archetypes of endurance as they crash any resistence left
So they just re-branded Heroscape... seems pretty lazy in my opinion. Even if they tweak the rules a bit, just taking a game Hasboro discontinued and slapped MTG into it does not impress me at all. However, I am sure it will please the existing fans of the original Heroscape.

I will always firmly stand by the belief that Magic is a game first and a collectable second.

It does. I've got a giant bucket of two or three core sets and probably around a hundred minis from Heroscape in a storage closet. I've even got the Marvel Edition figures - I'm looking forward to adapting them and have Liliana summon Thanos, or Nissa summon the Hulk.
I should note that while it looks like a lot of the elements are the same, gameplay wise it might be very different. The fact that you have decks of cards changes things up pretty significantly, where in Heroscape there was no hidden information outside of turn order or non-unit interactions.
Not a fan. Having other ways to play Magic (like EDH) is fine by me, but this is taking things a little too far.
I agree I'm not a fan of this either.

I'm excited to adapt and customize this, as Jay13x said, but I'm kinda disappointed in how the reveal there basically showed "this=Heroclix with lower production costs."
Here's hoping for boosters or expansion packs in the line of the original Heroclix. If this doesn't happen, the quality of those ruins is inexcusable.
