Art seems convincingly detailed, stars and all. Not the chief Blue god as she is depicted with rivers instead of Islands. See no other threads for this, but if they do exist, I'm sorry for redundancy.
Anywho, minor gods would kind of be cool. The major gods embody the chief features of their colors, while their lieutenants embody sub-features that appear less frequently.

Theros doesn't look dangerous. It looks nice and peaceful :/
Except for the gigantic Hydras and other assorted beasties? Also, the theme is the Hero's Journey, in other words accomplishment. Maybe this set will be happy? Lol, doubt it though. The real Greek gods were jerks, so I'm expecting some god slap fights that level mountains.

Maro mentioned in the panel that there's a handful of multi-colored cards in the set. I'm getting a big UW vibe from her, but being either one and mono-colored could be very likely. Flavor-wise, if she's a minor god, that fits just fine with Greek mythology, there were a ton more gods than just the most well-known eightish Olympians.
The god herself gives me a very WU feel, but the whole piece makes me think it could be a Verdant Haven-esque spell. Regardless of what it belongs to, it fits in well with the other beautiful art we've seen.
I seriously doubt we're going to see any gold minor gods, mostly because the frame would look TERRIBLE with the top being the purplish sparkle and the bottom being gold. It would have really really bad read qualities at a glance.
Certainly, this does suggest more gods though, so...
I hope to god there's more Gods, because that's gorgeous.
It could be there's the 5 god creatures, then enchantments/other spells relating to the other gods.
That art of the flaming dark sky of Nyx might be evidence of more gods, too---as the 4 'main' gods shown are all with a basic land, but that art wasn't. Which suggests a greater pantheon, as the Red god is guaranteed to have Mountains in its art.
It could very well be this is Born of the Gods or Journey Into Nyx art, also. "Journey Into Nyx" (with Nyx being the sky realm of the gods) certainly suggests a very Gods-heavy set, if our protagonists are heading up into their territory.
Damn, this is epic.

that's not what happened at all. kamahl stabbed phage, akroma, and some old lady and they became korona. then korona got stabbed by her "prophets" and kamahl got drunk with a mutant centaur

Gold would look terrible... Now hybrid color would be interesting, but how many fade jobs can one card take? Could be a type of nymph, maybe like the chief naiad or a water spirit, not quite a god, but not quite a normal run-of-the-mill dryad.
Looks like a Goddess of the Harvest to me - pretty much every culture of the time of the Greeks had a god whose job was to look after the farming and so on (Demeter was the Greek's main harvest god, though there must have been a dozen more less important ones). On that basis, probably G or W. Agreed with comments about gold gods seemingly unlikely, although more for thematic reasons than anything to with the border (I'd assumed that the 'star effect' will always be on the background of that card's colour - so Eberos had stars on a black field by Nylessa would have the stars on a green field, etc.).
correct, this definitely looks like Demetra, related to fertility and agriculture and she could be green in MtG since all related to additional lands, mana etc are in direct reference to her portfolio.
This card might be in one of the smaller sets, journey into Nyx or born of the gods
Really? What a ****ty imagination you have. No sense at all.
Why would a god or an avatar pouring water into the lands (even metaphorically or not) be art for Gift of Estates. That makes no sense and comparing art randomly like this is utterly stupid.
Take a step back there, dude. Breath. Reflect on how you just reacted.
A more reasonable rebuttal would've something like "Eh, I don't really see the comparison." That's all it would've taken to send your point across.

Maybe the minor gods/demigods don't have the sparkly border. Maybe the sparkly border isn't purple on every card. At the moment, we don't know enough about the gods to discout anything.
Yep - I saw this get posted to Tumblr on Monday (apparently I live there most the time now).
I did bark it down for confirmation at that time and thought I had tracked it down to an 'Arists of Magic' playmat series on SCG or elsewhere - I'll have to confirm that again.
These are going to be 2 foot by 6 foot tablemats given out to GTS ( a supplier of magic product ) LGS Customers that use them for the prerelease they are designed by HCD accessory company and have nothing to do with wizards or the Theros set. So sorry no minor gods here.

This. Except isn't Theros supposed to be ALL NEW cards?

There is usually a card or two that are reprints.
Nice reference, but I think not. She's pouring water out of the jug onto the mountain and that's creating a river.
She's definitely got something to do with rivers.

There's no MtG logo on the art. The Tumblr that is the source is just some random MtG fan with no inside knowledge.
Yeah, we need a better source before we can say anything about that art.
The art is pretty much exactly the same (except prettier).

Though, while pretty, there's really nothing linking that picture to Magic except for some blogger supposing it is.
