I'd gladly pay these $59.99 + taxes. But unfortunatly, these promo cards are only for North Americans. And because they are high profile (planeswalkers + new, flashy promotional rendition), that pisses me off far more than it should.
I'm from America and it pisses me off for you... It seems like ever since hasbro bought up wotc things like this have leaned heavily toward the us and Canada only side. It really isn't fair and with hasbro being an international business they should make this sort of novelty available to all.
Those 80's pop-art planeswalkers are a rich man's problem and I don't give the least damn about them. I'm far more annoyed with the fact that Wizards can't even ensure that regular Buy a Box promos are available for more than the 20-ish first who'll buy a box. And here, we're talking about mass market so this should not be an issue at all.
That's actually pretty expensive for a 5-card set, promo or not; I wasn't expecting any higher than $39.99. Well, at least they're giving people who weren't able to attend a chance at them. Gonna be funny to see Hasbro's site go down for the inevitable hammer-fest!
For what it's worth, the opposite of evergreen is "deciduous" so I suggest we start using that from now on to refer to shroud, banding, islandhome, etc.

They kinda try out the market, what people will pay.
If this sells out for the price, they will print more of it for sure.
And i am actual ok with it, as i wont buy it anyway, but someone will be happy with it.
If its too expensive and just "promo" material, dont buy it.
If they print important stuff for constructed at such a level and price, "then" its a problem.
Why are people outside of NA pissed off by this? Do you really feel entitled to the ability to get them? It's merely a cosmetic thing and affects nothing.

Well as a committed player of mtg, since alpha, it still annoys me that there are huge swathes of this great game that i'll never get to experience simply because I don't live in America. It's not a sense of arrogance or entitlement that gives me this feeling (frankly I find this insulting), it's more of a sense of feeling left out and underappreciated as a customer.

it's lucky enough they're selling them online to begin with... when these things first announced it sounded like they were only being sold at comiccon. This is the prime definition of a promotional item -- a special promotion for attendees at comiccon.
Do when know when they will hit digital shelves on Hasbro.com?
I'm sure it will be a mad rush to order them, but if I know the time, I could possibly get one.
My email from them.
"We will be selling limited quantities of the SDCC merchandise at some point following the convention. Unfortunately we cannot give you a precise day or time that the items will be scheduled to go live as there are several factors that come into play – leftover stock needs to be inventoried at the close of the convention, loaded onto trailers and shipped to our warehouse where it needs to be received, recounted and examined for damages and put into stock. At that point it will be available for sale. We ask that you check back on the site frequently following the close of the convention for the best opportunity to purchase. Pre-Orders are not available on these items.
Please refer to the following to assist you with your attempt to purchase Comic Con items when they become available:
An item being placed in a customer’s cart does not reserve the item(s) for that customer. The item is not reserved for that customer until the order has been completely placed and the customer receives an order number. An item can sell out while you are attempting to finalize your order. Should that happen you will be required to remove the sold out item from your cart before you can proceed with the rest of your order.
All items available for purchase on HasbroToyShop.com have strict cart limits. These limits vary by item, but are strictly enforced. Placing multiple orders in an attempt to obtain higher than the allotted quantity will not result in the customer receiving more than the allowed cart limit. All orders going over the limit will be canceled. These limits are per person and per household. We apologize if these limits are unsatisfactory to our customers, but they are in place so that we can allow as many consumers as possible to obtain the items they desire.
On the day the Comic Con items become available there will be extremely high traffic on HasbroToyShop.com. Unfortunately this high volume of traffic can cause slowness with our website. Please be advised that opening additional browser windows will not better your chances of receiving these items, and may in fact impede your progress with placing an order.
Once these items are sold out on HasbroToyShop.com on the initial release date, the only recommendation we can give in regards to obtaining the items is that you continue to check the site in the weeks following the convention, as minimal quantities may become available due to order cancellations. As with the initial sale of these items, we will not be able to provide you a specific date or time that this may happen. Once the picture of these items is removed from our site the item is completely sold out and will never be available for purchase through HasbroToyShop.com again.
HasbroToyShop.com customer service is unable to put our consumers on any type of waiting list for these items, regardless of the reason you were unable to make your purchase. If you are unable to obtain your desired items on the initial day of sale you will need to check the site periodically to see if the item you desire is back in stock.
Additionally, the customer service department at HasbroToyShop.com does experience the same issues within our purchasing system and will be unable to place an order any more quickly over the phone. There will be a high call volume on the day the items are released on our site, as well as in the days and weeks following. We do ask that you remain patient with us. We are committed to doing our very best to assist all of our customers and we wish you the best of luck in obtaining the 2013 Comic Con exclusives you desire. "

Once again, I want to know from Wizards:
Just how limited will it be?
If I had to go from my only convention trip it would probably be a few hundred to a thousand.

It's a set of all the M14 planeswalkers. They tell you.
Only reason to buy this product is for collector purposes. The cards aren't that impressive (namely Chandra).
it's a boxed set much like FtV so most likely yes
The card is functionally no different than what you can open in M14 boosters.
Older Magic as a Board Game: Panglacial Wurm , Mill
They haven't indicated otherwise.
