This card has pod written all over it. Worth at least $12 once the set is out.
$12?? for a green rare with CMC of 5? Not so sure about that. But if you are confident in it, you can basically buy as many as you want at $8 now off eBay and SCG. =)
This green card is too vanilla for me. It is good, I'm not denying that; I just want something a bit flashier. I guess I should expect as much from a Core set.
One of these days, I'll be able to play Mono Red again. Apparently it won't be this season.
........your joking....right? Mono red was about as good as it gets during shards block (Not very long ago at all as far as set cycles go). It had hells thunder, ball lightning, goblin guide, hellspark, LIGHTNING BOLT, and a really solid PW Koth. If red is ever that good again, I will be a pee my pants.
Not to mention, this does not say no to mono red at all, it's good, but not a kor firewalker. If anything it says hey vapor snag...i'm looking at you.

I should probably mention that Koth was never in the same Standard as Shards block. It's also worth mentioning that even at its peak, RDW was never a dominant force in the metagame the way Jund, Caw-Blade, or Delver decks were/are.
Anyway, Thragtusk is also probably just as bad a hate card as KFW was. At least there were ways to play around KFW, but even if this resolves and dies without any blink effects, it'd still cost a mono-R deck two cards and a lot of tempo.
Basically, if you want to open packs to get cards for Standard and Modern, the simpler approach is to just buy all the singles you need and then set some money on fire to make up the difference.
Also, see Rancor. Or even that new "green" ring equipment that grants trample and +1/+1 counters.
