I was just thinking the same thing. The biggest weakness I can see for it atm is that you can't use spirit guides/chancellor for the mana. However, it may be doable
It's in pretty good colours, though, so basically it goes from Spirit Guide type explosiveness to a potentially more resilient U/B consistency. The lower mana cost opens up some interesting support ideas, too (Force because you're in blue, two-mana counters, etc).
Good news everybody! You're being sent on a fatal mission....
I mean I've gotten independent confirmation! Thanks to FlopItOut for bringing this attention to us in the first place! And sorry for locking it!
As repentance, here's some additional info about the cards:
Legendary Ninja 3UUBB
Ninjustu 2UUBB
When ~ deals damage to a player, look at that players and hand and cast an instant or sorcery spell from it.

all good dude
just out of interest ninjutsu doesn't work from the command zone does it?
Unfortunately not. Otherwise Ink-Eyes would be a pretty rockin' general.
well i think this new one will be pretty awkward as a general too then. unless ninjutsu gets an errata or some **** but i definitely don't see that happening, especially for a legendary card in a planechase set
of course there may be some goodies in the deck which encourage you to bounce stuff to your own hand
on a slightly different note, i talked again with the mate who supplied me with the original information. he said that the ninja deck does have quite a strong kamigawan theme (there wont be ninjas from other planes i don't think). i wouldnt call this new info or anything but it looks like the decks are loosely based upon one of the planes which they contain. there is a devour theme in one deck and the plane of jund which gives creatures devour 5, and there is ninjutsu so a probable kamigawan plane.
again, not new info, but my mate says the planes have much splashier effects than some of those from the last planechase a la fields of summer, the dark barony etc

I'm fine with the splashier effects, seeing as some planes were just.. ridiculous in the last version.
We play with a stack of planes for everyone to share though so it probably is different for us.

How about "Devour X: As this enters the battlefield, you may sacrifice any number of creatures. This creature enters the battlefield with X times the number of +1/+1 counters on it equal to the number of creatures sacrificed this way"? That would solve the P/T squared issue.
So there's a larger cascade theme in the new cards? Makes sense, since the mechanic is somewhat similar to the spirit of the Planechase mechanics anyway. UB Cascade bear should be fun in the Ninja deck, presumably.
Legendary RG Minotaur definitely makes me happy.
A possible wording for the "squared" devour creature could be: "CARDNAME has devour X, where X is the number of creatures it devoured." Devour one creature, X=1; devour three creatures, X = 3. You get the squaring effect without actually using the word "squared."
I'm calling bull ****. "He told me" threads are rarely reliable when it comes to rumors for just about anything, couple that with p/t equal to x^2 being something Wizards would never do outside of an Un-type set and you get a big stinkin' pile of filth and lies.
Such fail.... I think you owe this guy a apology.
But yes this set is looking very interesting can't wait to see the new ninjas!
Isn't there some sort of rule on cards with null mana costs that don't let you cast them like that? It doesn't have a mana cost so it can't be cast by means that cast it without paying the cost.

There used to be, and some cards still suffer from this (you can't snapcaster an Ancestral Visions, for example), but Cascade (and things like Mind's Desire) get around this restriction quite beautifully.
Confusing, anyways I think Wizards dropped the ball on the Ninja Legend, it's kinda meh for EDH and it's nearly useless for casual. Hope the other cards aren't as underwhelming.
Let's face it: Cascade Bear is going to be the scavenging ooze of the set. It is simply amazing. It cascades into tons of handy stuff at that cmc, allowing for that sweet, sweet card advantage stapled on a creature.

A spell without a mana cost has a cost of {} (null). You can't pay {}. You can, however, cast a spell with a mana cost of {} if you can cast the spell without paying its cost. This is how spells like Ancestral Visions are actually cast off of suspend.
The reminder text on printed copies of Evermind is out of date and has been changed in the Oracle text (not that it had any rules significance anyway).
The legendary Ninja does not look anything like constructed material. Also, Ninjutsu does not work with Exile zone, but the ninja could still be a non-commander creature so it's not all bad.
Something I just noticed, the original Planechase had a preview card of Zendikar in it. Do we see the preview card for RTR in Planechase II and not FTV:Realms?
There are 21 new cards. Planechase is a multiplayer format that utilizes a new type of card that create fun, global effects. It's like a separate deck with nothing but global enchantments.

The release info for FTV:Realms said nothing about a preview card, which the previous FTV's all have. It's either a mistake on WOTC's part, or the preview card is in HOP2.
Too bad it's only 21 new cards... Just doesn't seem like enough. At least the reprints have been good.
That UB cascade guy is nuts. Seriously, he is a whole new archetype alone.

I don't know about you guys, but I would want a ninjutsu general even if it did work in the command zone, because then they would know it was comming.

I'm sure that there will be multiples of some of the new cards. But it's true that they generally shy away from 4x in precons.
