Because of recent activities from WotC's side (for smaller parts this and for bigger parts this), this site will be taken down on October, 22nd. It's my decision and not some sort of take-down from Hasbro. I do it, because I don't support a game, that doesn't support its players. I will not sell the site, the domain, or my database, so please refrain from asking.
A big "Thank you very very much!!" to all the players, TOs and judges who submitted decklists and who supported this site during its time being.
Yours truly, EvilBernd.
Personally, I think this is the biggest load of BS ever. I'm not pointing any fingers as to who did what wrong here, but I am deeply disappointed that some chain of events led to the shutting down of a major website in the competitive scene.

Wake up every morning feeling like John Finkle; grab my deck, I'm out the door and surprised I'm still single.
Wahhhhh! Wahhhhh! Pay attention to my knee-jerk reactions! Wahhhhh!
That's the message I'm getting from this guy. Instead of writing a petition, or filing complaints with Wizards of the Coast, or discussing his viewpoint on an online forum, or offering assistance in verifying legitimate tournament organizers, or contacting Wizards of the Coast representatives, he's taking his toys and he is going home because YOU GUYS ARE MEANIES >:(

You mean an internet petition? He..ehehe...ehahahah...That's not going to help. Neither is most of what you posted. You know why? Because there are people who gobble everything up as holy wafers.

I'm not saying he doesn't have a point, or that any of those methods are gonna work. I'm saying that he's doing an incredibly juvenile thing.
Looks like he's here himself. Well, maybe not, but another Bernd that just started today? That's a bit too conspicious. Bernd, come in Bernd. Over. I'd like to see what you have to say, if it is indeed the same.

Do you know all the details or just what the OP put up here? I don't know the "behind the scenes" information.
And how have those petitions, complaints, and forum posts been going for you? You change a lot with those?

Like I said, I'm not saying that any of those things are guaranteed to work, or that they work at all. But he could at least try. I dunno, maybe he did try. Still...
Sooo, you don't like the direction that a company is going in. And you claim it's because you don't support a product that doesn't support it's consumers.....soooo you shut down your consumer friendly site that doesn't actually do anything for Wizards itself. Thereby punishing the people you claim to be fighting for by shutting down your website that said consumers use?
And you didn't even go down like Magic Draft Sim did, you weren't forced into making this decision. You're taking your ball and going home that will only negatively effect the very people you claim to be championing?
Well damn, I guess another score for Wizards of the Coast getting rid of more user friendly sites so that we are solely dependent on their sources to get stuff done eh? Way to go! You are a smart smart man. I certainly hope to be as smart as you some day! Derp derpy derpi-doo.
I don't think we're fully aware of the entire situation of why the site has decided to shut down. I don't think we're in a position to pass judgment, particularly in so insulting a manner.
By him taking it down, it gets people pissed and THOSE people will also send in emails. Instead of one person complaining, he gets all his followers to complain. Seems like a good idea to me.
"I'm complaining about the TO problem that I do not fully understand because Bernd is taking down his site that I use to post decklists on. So stop doing what your doing to the TO's so that wait.....the site's not going to come back anyway so what am I fighting for again?"
What a crock, I loved that site. It was simple, fair, and easy to use. Contributing a few decks here and there is also a fair trade off for using the data.

Ambition must be made to counteract ambition.
Individualities may form communities, but it is institutions alone that can create a nation.
Nothing succeeds like the appearance of success.
Here is my principle: Taxes shall be levied according to ability to pay. That is the only American principle.
It wouldn't even be that bad if he were at least willing to sell it to SOMEONE who was willing to put in the time and effort to keep the site running. Instead he's throwing a totally unnecessary hissy fit.
Owner: I'm shutting down the site because I hate WotC.
Person A: Ok, that's your opinion, alright. I'll pay you a couple hundred dollars to take over the domain for you so that at least the common players can still use a convenient site.
Owner: Nooooo!!!! I hate Wizards so much that I don't even wanna think about letting OTHER people run a site convenient for the common player. Everyone affiliated with Wizards must be punished!
Person B: If you hate Wizards so much just play Elves, jeez.
If Wizards is so eager to purge "Promo Fraud" from their precious WPN system, they should consider different strategies.
agreed. Pissing off and essentially killing the entire international player base to stop a few jackasses exploiting the system seems like a real stupid idea, and I say this sitting at home 15 minutes down the road from my shop. Locally here in the US it may boost revenue for store owners which is a good thing since mine is nearing the point where it may need to close, however boosting up local sales at the expense of the rest of the world is a pretty dickish thing to do.
Wizards really needs to stop pissing in peoples' cheerios...
It's easy to call the webmaster a crock for not selling deckcheck.net, but in this case you obviously have a comfy place to game, don't you?
That's not entirely true. I have to drive 45 minutes out of the way of my hometown in order to see any competitive play because our local card shop closed down several years ago. It's not easy for our area to get any sort of tournament support whatsoever because we live in a rural area with very limited ccg players not into Yugioh.
But we adapt. We are willing to pay the gas and make that trip every Friday evening when we don't have work because we find the game fun and enjoyable.
Europe is an entirely different situation and I sympathize. But shutting down a free website that helps the casual gamer far more than it ever helped WotC is not going to fix the problem. And hurts the gamers far more than it hurts the company.
Now like the poster above me stated, the only way you can get legacy decklists is by pumping more money into Starcitygames, which is a pretty well known buddy of WotC. So by shutting down his free site, he is actually SUPPORTING traffic to more WotC friendly sources, and doing the exact opposite of what he actually wants to do.
Thus showing us that his decision is rash, irresponsible and petty. So although I feel for the Europeans being screwed by the current moves by WotC, I feel no pity at all for somebody who wants to ride the wambulance instead of trying to adapt positive changes to the community.
If he thinks Wizards are bad, he should see the zero support that World of Warcraft has just now from its producers. They recently held qualifiers in the UK for a larger tournament, and only gave qualifiers to the top 5 locations for booster sales.
From what I was told, none of those locations were places that ran tournaments.

I think hurting the playerbase even more by being a baby about it is worse. pulling a Cartman isn't going to change anything.
Take your monoblack deck, then set aside 14 swamps. Add 4 Creeping Tar Pits, 4 Darkslick Shores, 4 Drowned Catacombs, and 2 Jwar isle Refuge and add 4 Jace, the Mindsculptors. Your monoblack deck is instantly better. Better yet, drop those refuges, throw in some islands and some mana leaks, and lo and behold, you're now playing a real deck. Congratulations. Welcome to the world of competitive M:TG.
I do like these forums. @_@. Let's hope this place doesn't close it's doors due to being angry face at WotC thinking that by shutting down we somehow will hurt the profit of WotC even though we generate zero revenue for their product.
I can't blame him for beeing busy and having a life actually. He asked others to volunteer for support and a few did, like Schattengaenger. They kept the site alive in the last weeks.
Neither would I. Or most people I imagine. If that would of been his explanation that'd be fine. It'd still be a tragedy to lose such a valuable resource, but at least it would of shut down the site without having an air of immaturity around it. I can deal with a guy having a life. But what's offensive is when you try to capitalize on a political move to give a company bad P.R. when in reality you just didn't want to run the site anymore, and anything Wizards would of done wouldn't of changed his decision anyway.
Kraken - Adapting? So you actually prefer driving 40-50 minutes to attend FNM because it is not possible to hold FNM in your town to attending FNM in, you know, your town?
I admire your motivation, but I think a lot of players will not adapt. And this will hurt the overall player base.
A lot of un-associated TOs worked hard to get FNM running in hobby store-less towns, and they just got a kick in the nuts. I hope we agree that even if "the cartman" is not an acceptable way of protesting, this is just wrong.
Yes, we definitely agree that this TO thing is a kick in the nuts to local tournament goers without a shop everywhere. I too would be effected by this, if we had anybody locally that could conceivably TO. My location would be screwed in that aspect as well. There's no argument that doing this will lose the international market as well as cripple the rural market.
My only beef is that it does us no good whatsoever to start shutting down free resource sites that only benefit us as a counter to what WotC is doing.
It's like saying "I don't like that WotC is beating up the casual player, so I'm going to beat them up even worse by shutting down my website in protest". It's like a school yard jock standing up to the schoolyard bully by kicking us while we're down. It's backwards logic.
Can some help clarify the store support letter from WotC? I'm confused on a couple of details.
1) If I understand correctly TO's associated with a store can hold the event at a location other than the store itself. The letter only seems to indicate that the tournament support stuff will be sent to the store, the event can be held somewhere else. Is this correct, and if it is doesn't that make the small store locations in Europe irrelevent or am I missing something. It doensn't even give the indication the TO has to be the store owner, just some way associated.
2) I'm not quite understanding the support described for non store affilated TO's is it basicly draft support for M11 until M12 or is it the latest set given the same sturcture as an M11 support kit?
3) It also says non store TO's will have access to "rated and casual sanctioned events," what exactly does this mean. To me it seems to indicate that you can still run events that are rated for DCI standings. Is this the case? Do these events still have prize support at all? If so doesn't that mean you can still run an FNM you just don't get the FNM foils?

Oh well, I am sure another website will step up and take over for them.
Maybe a website that offers more than just decklists.

What a cop out, this just means some one else will start a site up that will be better run, more organized, and feature more content.
I'm pretty sure you can search deck lists without being a premium member of SCG.com.
