Since Mythic rares were created, the prerelease promo has always been a mythic. I don't know what they all were, but I know the prerelease for Shards was Ajani Vengeant, and I was personally at the prerelease for M10 and Zendikar. M10's was Vampire Nocturnus, and Zendikar's was Rampaging Baloths. The release promo has been rare since then as well, M10's being Ant Queen, and Zendikar's being Valakut.
In short, Comet Storm will be the prerelease promo, and Joraga Warcaller will be the release promo.

Conflux had Malfegor as its Mythic, as ARB had Dragon Broodmother. I didn't play the Release tourneys for those. And yes, Wizards' Worldwide Fact Sheets for Worldwake confirm that CS is the Pre-Release card, and JW is the Release card. They haven't officially released the art on the website, last I checked, but the names are up there.

It's so hard to believe that the official previews don't start until the 18th, with this season being so dry so far. Have preview weeks always been only two weeks long?
Official Previews for large sets are 3 weeks, for small sets it's only 2. There may be exceptions I've forgotten about, but that's the "general" rule.
Somebody knows about where is the Orb of Insight? we would get it at least five days ago. [because we get it 1 month aprox. before the pre-release]
It'll be Weds, if at all. Sorry to break hearts, but there is nothing weird about not having previews yet (though we did have the Conflux Orb the second week in Jan)... just search in the dailymtg.com's archive, you'll see that the first big preview we had for Conflux was Nicol Bolas on Jan 19th...

If I recall, we had official spoilers (i.e. straight from WOTC) through game magazines like Game Japan, Lotus Noir and Mana Rouge by that time. In fact we have always gotten spoilers from two if not all three (in addition to stuff like Scyre when it still existed) of those magazines before official previews have started for like every set I've followed on the Rumor Mill. A few more magazines like Cantrip would follow suit during the official WOTC spoiler weeks. The omission of the first three magazine is what is making this Rumor season feel PAINFULLY slow for me. Hopefully that feeling ends tonight!
At this point in the Zendikar spoilers, didn't we have things like Lotus Cobra, Ob Nixilis, and fetchlands? For WWK we have manlands which so far don't look very good, multikicker stuff which doesn't look very good, and Jace. If not for Jace, it would be basically just a big pile of suck. I am underwhelmed so far, and not that hopeful for the set.
Keep in mind guys that the fall set is always pumped up eariler than other sets. They start pushing it at GenCon, which is mid-Aug. As for why there aren't any official previews via magazines, your guess is as good as mine. Maybe they thought it wasn't worth it as most Magic fans go to websites and pod/videocasts. Magic Show will have something this week for example.
Also Particleman... they aren't EVER going to drop all of the OMG stuff right away. Sure they'll hint at us a nice thing like a Planeswalker or Fetches... but Lotus Cobra wasn't actualy revealed till Mike Flores article, which was a week before Prerelease.
I think you guys need to realize that Worldwake is a small set so they don't have as many things to spoil. As I recall small sets don't get spoiled as fast as the larger sets.

This is true, if you're going to compare things, go back to Conflux or Morningtide.
I will say though, the Orb was late by a week... that says a lot as we sometimes figure things out by monkeying around with it (Meddling Mage and othere reprints).
In Alara Reborn, it only costs 1BG. I remain skeptical.
Yeah, I could see them printing a BB Echoing Doom Blade at Rare. I'd be surprised, but I could see it.
Though I think chaos is closer. It probably says "Destroy two target creatures if they share a name." I'll check the Orb. That could also be that "Shadow of etc." card that's being rumored.
just some things im finding on orb. 71 hits for land, and 16 for landfall, only one planeswalker i know 2 were speculated before. 21 hits for ally. and only 5 hits for kor. im not sure what it all means i'm new to the orb. so please speculate im interested to hear ideas
I know you're new around here and to the orb, but this is all old information. We have at least two threads compiling this info, and there's a 'search thread' function you should use to avoid redundant posts if you want to contribute to the search.

Have a helicopter drop you off out front. Light your cigar with a small Indonesian boy holding a black lotus. Then bust out a craw wurm deck with no sleeves. Raw dog shuffle, loose terribly, flip the table, leave in a hovercraft.

LMAO, this made me giggle at work...
But all that aside, I don't think we'll be getting an Orb of Insight. The orb has been inconsistent within the sets.
