It would be completely broken if it was at 4cc but even at 6cc I still think it will find itself a spot somewhere.
In many ways this reminds me of Broodmate Dragon, you're getting multiple 4/4's (if you make it past you're upkeep with the Rhino) and they can both get you there. ya, this guy dies to more removal, but he's also easier to cast and he can grow more than just the 1 4/4.
Personally, when spells that cost UUU in there mana cost and spells that have a 7 cmc are being played in 5cc, it's hard for me to just throw it out of constructed altogether
Who wants to Savor the Moment? That's the best card I can think of in standard to pair it with. You can even play two in the same turn, just to make your army that much bigger.
Okay, wait a sec. Trample on a white creature? YUCK! White has tons of keywords that would have made sense here (vigilance and flying are just the evergreen ones that come to mind). I also think it's stupid that it's mythic. There's nothing mythic about it! As for power level, VERY low. A 4/4 for 6 that sometimes does something if you build your deck around it? Not a chance.
It would have been much more flavorful to have seen it be more like this:
Mirror-Sigil Sergeant2GWU
Creature - Rhino Soldier
Exalted
Whenever a creature you control attacks alone, put a token that's a copy of that creature into play tapped and attacking.
4/4
Yeah that's the cost I'd have put it at, if I wanted to force it to be used only in Bant decks, which apparently they did. (Well, Azorius can use it too I guess.) I'd have the ability trigger during the upkeep.
2GWU
Exalted
At the beginning of your upkeep, put a token into play that's a copy of Mirror-Sigil Sergeant.
4/4
It would have been much more flavorful to have seen it be more like this:
Mirror-Sigil Sergeant2GWU (or even 3GWU)
Creature - Rhino Soldier
Exalted
Whenever a creature you control attacks alone, put a token that's a copy of that creature into play tapped and attacking.
4/4
I would have loved that card. It's well costed and much more synergistic with the rest of Bant. The card we got, I just don't know what to do with it.
This is a complete disappointment. Nothing like I envisioned it at all, and at mythic it's even worse. The only reason it's mythic is because of Limited... at least justify it being mythic by reducing the cost by 1 or 2.

That would've been about a quadrillion times better in every conceivable way than the real mirror-sigil sergeant. Seriously. From the fun perspective to the flavor perspective to the synergy to the actual quality of the card.
Mirror-Sigil Sergeant - 5W
Creature-- Rhino Soldier (Mythic)
Trample
If you control a blue permanent, during your upkeep, put a token into play that's a copy of Mirror-Sigil Sergeant
4/4
where is paradox haze when you need it?
this card is totally splashable in a green blue deck that can accel it into play.
Why mythic? This guy's not Rafiq, or Elspeth, or Nicol-Bolas. This guy is a total Johnny rare. Does printing it at rare muck up Limited that badly? Blehhhh I really wanted this art to go on something respectable

um... no.
it cant grow exponentially and it will kill an attacking akroma
Nice one. Play it, keep it on table, and he will multiply by geometric sequence. Eat that, Chronozoa...
Also, I see no problem with it being a mythic. It is not a constructed card, but it is fun to play and use. On the other hand, I would really expect the Sergeant to have exalted.

Yes it does muck up limited the ability is also somewhat mythic this guy creates his own army. Never had a guy that can copy himself that fast Chronozoa and Spawnwrithe come close but they both have more hoops to jump through.
Like I stated earlier this card is stupid in limited if you can't respond very very quickly even if you have great board position you lose period.

I just don't like this card, you basically need creature destruction on the turn it's played, or you lose (because you'd need 2 the next turn, or 4 the turn after that). I feel like it'd be really annoying to play against in casual, regardless of how slow it is to get out in type 2. And I mean annoying in the "this card isn't fun because it is beating me with a lame ability" way.
Wizards should just make a card that says 6cc:"vanishing 3, when the last time counter is removed from this card, you win the game." That's basically what this card says.

unless its a board sweeper like apocalypse.
or a creature neutering effect like humble or humilty. or bounce. it does have to be destruction

pretty narrow, my friend. i don't see this thing warping up casual--wait, you can warpcasual??? blasphemy--where wrath and every form of removal that ever existed in the history magic run amok, unrestricted like heck. this thing is fun to play with, and it's fun to deal with, i concur.

The ability is really strong, especially for limited, and I'll go ahead and disagree with a few people and say that the ability does feel sort of mythic. However, as was said earlier, giving it exalted would've been so much more flavorful and IMO its casting cost is perhaps what is most lacking in flavor. The ability is strong enough for 6 mana, I'd say that, but it could've been either 4WG or 3WG and been a lot stronger in the flavor department. It doesn't really need U in its mana cost though, since it already relies on having a blue permanent on the board.

It's not that it's warping casual (casual is quite warped enough by far cheaper things), it's that it's comparatively warping the design space of expensive things to just be win conditions based on simple questions, like "does opponent have creature destruction immediately?".
I just feel like very few of these cards have the same sort of win condition, that their success is more relative of the actual gameplay constraints than just "oh my opponent didn't pack enough wraths."
Well, I personally think that giving it exalted would have been silly - overkill, if you will. Assuming it sticks around, you'd have a crash of rhinos after a few turns. That means an extremely large accumulation of creatures that have both trample and exalted, which ultimately means one arbitrarily large trampling attacker. I think having an army of trampling rhinos would be more than sufficient.
On second thought, exalted wouldn't have been too horrendously overpowered on it . . . but, wet bread.

you'll also lose to akroma eventually if you don't pack enough... what can stop that chick?... wraths?
and bounce and humility and humble effects.
all of which kill the sergeant as effectively.
so its not about packing some specific answer as you would want us to think. its just about packing answers, period. the only color that doesn't have an answer to this is green.
black has terror, red has mass destruction spells (where is it in this standard season though?) or burn and blue has counter and bounce. white has o ring, unmake and path to exile.
bounce can be boomerang, which will take care even of nicol. burn will also take care of the opponent's head. oring can take care of almost anything. so it only black that doesnt have a truly multi useful elimination spell, but its the color that color is built on critter destruction. So ultimately, its not about having a narrow set of responses, but having responses at all and knowing when to use those responses or to tsave them up
you'll also lose to akroma eventually if you don't pack enough... what can stop that chick?... wraths?
Akroma costs 8 though, and they already have printed cards that cost 8 and say "you win the game." Such as Coalition Victory and Door to nothingness. (Granted, the former require multicolor investment, the latter requires it also to be played first.)
Bounce won't stop this card either, or am I missing something? You bounce it, they just play it next turn. If you miss bouncing it for even one turn they basically win.
Anyways, I just wanted to point out that even if this card isn't "great", due to the inexpensiveness of creature destruction, it's better than a lot of what's out there for its mana cost.
