This was rumored to me by friends but I have verbal confirmation of this as well as several sources and witness' that Force of Will is INDEED going to be a Foil Judge Rewards cards for the 2008 rotation. I can only imagine how expensive it will be.
Wow...cant wait to see a picture of it. I think it will cost like at least 3 times that of a normal FOW.
To start out? i can see this thing going for at LEAST $250-300. Yawgmoth's Will started at $250, and considering that card is only playable as a one of in vintage, the demand for FOW will be greater (depending on the number they first release) strictly because it's more playable and you need 4 of them for a deck.
I don't think they will ever go below $75-100 just because they will always be in demand, and the originals fetch 20-30 per if i'm not mistaken.
Just think of what will happen when the eventual Tarmogoyf is released to judges (not a rumor).

OH. MY. GOD. God has granted me the best possible hanukah surprise! I cannot frickin believe this. I gotta start saving up now, ****! Aside from the surprise though, these are going to be insane expensive, especially if the art is as good as I hope it will be. My question is whether or not it is possible to sign up to be a judge now and then judge a bunch of events over the coming months to get this baby. Seriously, I think it will be worth it.
If this is true I will be able to completly foil out fish now (except for duals). I hope this is real because I dont want the only non-foils in my deck to be FOWs and Duals.
It looks like I'm going to have start judging at large events instead of just the store I work so I can get my grubby little hands on one of these! Thank God there's an extended Grand Prix soon that I could drive to!

i'm sure they're going to look nice (along with some nice new art), but i highly doubt they'll go beyond $150 a pop. $150's too much to begin with, and $800-$1000 are much better off going somewhere else than cardboard.

Sorry no, they'll be closer to the $1000 mark. You are forgetting that foils of Force do not exist at all currently. Next, this is a card that is only present as a 4of, ever. And finally, it is played in EVERY blue deck that its legal to be played in (Legacy and Vintage). That is a lot of decks, and a lot of people who will want them. That means that they will be that expensive, no questions asked. I agree that spending that much on cardboard is a little extreme, but people will pay those prices. Remember the first Foil Yawgmoth's will went for around $500 if my memory serves me correctly.

if people have that much money to use on acquiring these, that's fine by them. i'm not going to tell other people to spend money on. more or less, a set of these is going to equal one of my future house payments. foil forces of will would do little to prevent raindrops from falling on my head.
Interestingly enough though, once they fall from their initial price (which will be absolutely nuts, mark my words), they will probably hold their value and/or appreciate about as fast as a house would. Put that in your pipe and smoke it why don't ya :D.
now it might be worthwhile to just become a judge for the promos. i heard they don't allow that, but a friend of mine managed to do so
It's frowned upon because people like your friend inevitably make bad judges, as you have your focus toward the wrong motivation to begin with. Usually either trainers can identify these people right off the bat, or that person realizes the time it takes to be a judge isn't worth just going for the cardboard.
That being said, there's always bad apples that make it through the cracks.

This is a silly idea.
Imagine you start judging for the foils. You judge a few local tournaments, a few day-long local tournaments, and then you go to a GP / PT. You spend 3 or 4 long days judging there, and finally, you get your long awaited foils. These would be worth what, a few hundred dollars? How does this compare to the money you would have earnt working for this time?
These foils partially compensate judges for the massive amount of time they dedicate to the game. Judging solely for the compensation is a waste of time - you'd probably come out below minimum wage.
The above is even assuming that you learn to judge well enough to be accepted to judge at a GP or PT. There would be a lot of extra time involved in getting to that level, as well.

A number of people already commented on it, but this is a terrible idea. Unless you're a level 4 or 5 judge, you're better off just working a regular job and buying the judge foil with your money. For low level judges not only does your compensation usually come out to be less than minimum wage for VERY long days (at least 14 hours each normally), but you pay your own travel and lodging expenses. You can't get travel or room sponsorship until you're at least level 2, but you can't become level 2 until you do a bunch of traveling to judge tournaments. Basically, judging for the money is a losing proposition.
