I meant X Edition, not Standard. And I believe the OP was referring to 10th too.
Yes, but why would they print Akroma in Timespiral as a bonus card and then 3 sets later. While I agree they will plant cards in a set and print them in the next core a few months later and have done so before and definately have done it now, they are not going to do that with a card which is itself already a reprint. Printing a "plant" card is done just for that, so they can put it in core. A reprint does not need to be added to a set as a plant to be then added to the next core. Any of the TSB cards are guranteed not in X.
Jedit cannot be including because they are sticking to their guns on not including multicolored cards. And if they do decide to print a Multicard in Core, I doubt they would make it Jedit. As the spoiler stands, there is room for at most one multi-card. In a core it needs to be a card which teaches and displays best what Multicolor does. It would most likely be Last Stand. It is each color, and it has an effect which displays each colour well. Next likely would be Genju of the Realm or Coalition Victory. Genju does not stand out as an example of what any of the colors do, and Victory loses for the same reason as Akroma.
wait... Braids, in Xth... If this isnt the best news besides (hopefully ;)) getting beacon of immortality, then I dont know what! Braids is gonna be good in standard with Gravepact ( if reprinted :/) and Bridge.

I called teh store which is only 20 minutes away when I got in just now and he was closed but I will try to swing by tomorrow or Sunday and see if he will let me rip the page out to scan. I had forgotten about Jedit and Akroma as timeshifted legends but it appears Mirri, Braids, and Crovax will get their original cards reprinted in Xth. Also in the add were cards on top of Braids but no new info there but I will take a closer look as I was trying to contain my excitment when I saw Braids sitting there or as I like to call her (Entropy Imp) her playtesting name!!
Woot! not too hot on Crovax, but it good to get some kind of confirmation on Mirri!!
And just because Mirri fits the number crunch doesn't mean she's in. Her abilities are not very green at all so I'm going to need more than just "seems likely" before I start to get excited.

Bridge? They just sac a creature to Braids, removing the Bridge?
I'm happy about the inclusion of this. I think I even have a foil Odyssey one kicking around somewhere. I'd be happy to play her, she's one of my favorites.
Not to rain on anyone's parade, but it's just a 2/2 creature (for 4). If you play it while your opponent is tapped out it's a 4-mana edict (or worse, if they have extra mana). Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of having her in the core set and think she is a strong card, I guess I'm just surprised the usual round of 'she's so easy to kill she'll never get played' crowd has chimed in. I mean for 2WW Magus of the Moat locks down creature strategies just as well...
I mean for 2WW Magus of the Moat locks down creature strategies just as well...
Well, first off black decks can have trouble getting 2WW (Obviously) and second, if they draw incinerate/char four turns after you play the magus then they will just kill it and you, in that order and probably one the same turn. If they draw incinerate/char four turns after you play braids, then then the board will look drastically different than the turn she came into play.
In addition, braids can attack for two a turn against the decks she hurts most (control) and chump a solifuge or something against aggro. She also makes going all in on gargadon much worse.
If Braids is indeed returning in Xth I hope they keep the original art, she looks beautiful in a freaky way in her pic, too bad she's too crazy, she'd be a really interesting date, I loooove Braids.
I'd wish her a very successful return to the spotlight come Xth.
Interesting if it's true. Braids is one of those legends that you don't care about drawing multiples of, because you can just sac it to itself and play another, no problem. Doesn't really teach newer players what "legendary" is all about, imo.
That said, it's a playable and flavourful card... I like!
So we're still waiting for a picture then. Just running this out, could this picture be an Ultra-Pro ad with the new art for Knight of Dusk, since its been confirmed that art is going on sleeves and deckboxes. Just saying.
Highly possible. -1 point to the Braids Revival team.
This point stands until the OP gets a scan of that poster somehow and we confirm that it's not the UltraPro Knight of Dusk.
I might be the only one that absolutely hates Braids, especially since it'll now be in extended for another 4 years. The card on it's own is just too stupid, since the deck playing it most likely will feature the dredge engine. Braids belongs in Odessey with the rest of the MBC deck. If they bring back braids, they should bring back Meloku for blue.
I wish! Meloku would rock
We haven't heard about the second blue legend yet have we? what cheap blue legends are there other than Smiling Kami of the Cresent Moon, which wouldn't be in since we already have Howling Mine.
she may be a 2/2 for 2BB, but with any of those two lands above she can create a soft lock on your opponent while you can keep beating for two until they die or get rid of her (and if/when do, you'll probably have another copy waiting anyways). I've always liked Braids and I think she could be very playable in standard, we have the tools to create a decent deck with her at least.
i wish they would bring braids back but i dont think it will do any thing in this enviroment exept be an icon for future generations
btw today on mtg.com there was a picture of a black-bordered 9th edition persecute.... is it the first time to show a black-bordered 9th edition card on mtg.com? does this mean that persecute is back on the list or... http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=mtgcom/academy/42

Like in autocard, the borders are generated on top of the card. The black borders are in separate images from the actual cards. Try selecting just one border or messing around with selecting the image to see what I mean.
Not to burst anyone's bubble but I am pretty sure this info cannot be correct because the Number Crunch doesnt have a card number for Braids which is not boding well for the card... Im just saying
Notice how they're in italics? Yeah. That means Braids is replacing one of those, or they're getting moved around or something. We don't have an image of either of those cards in 10th, so we can't be sure what slot they are in.

The original Crovax? First I've heard of that.

No they mean Ascendant Evincar as the other version of Crovax.
I'm waiting on a pic of this ad... hmm... 'rip the page out'? Does this mean it was in a magazine of some sort?

They're hardly going to have just Muse, unless they want black card draw to die fully.
If this is true, welcome back, Braids, Cabal Minion. Meet your new friends: Kher Keep and Dakmoor Salvage (by the way, they're both lands)
